*STRIVE FOR HIS GLORY*

*2 CORINTHIANS 4:17*
17. For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

There is an adage that says, "there is light at the end of the tunnel". A tunnel is that passage (enclosure) that is buried on the earth. It is a passage through which you can pass from one end to the other, but when inside it, it is very dark but you can crawl to the other side. You don't see light until you are out of it. This also can be compared to a Christian life. You cannot walk through it gallantly but you can crawl through it, that means you are striving. While crawling (striving), you are in the dark, until you come out of the tunnel before you can see light.

What we are saying is that, the persecutions, the mockery, beatings, isolations, attacks, etc, that we may face for being an advocate of the gospel, will never gain any comparison to the glory of what is to come on the day of resurrection where we will receive new glorious bodies, free from infirmities and sin. Persecutions neither add to, nor remove from our security in Christ. Our salvation remains our priority and we should strive to proclaim it, defend it, and be proud of it no matter what.

What to do is to declare your faith in Christ and to abide in Him no matter what comes your way. There are temptations and trials that will come your way because you choose to align with Him (Christ). Count it as being worth it whatever you endure as a Christian because the glory that is to come is far more greater than the temporary suffering of this world.

*PRAYER:*
Father, I thank You that I can be a partaker of this glorious future in Jesus' Name.

*THE LAW KILLS BUT THE SPIRIT GIVES LIFE*

*2 CORINTHIANS 3:6*
6. Who also had made us able ministers of the new testament, not of the letter, but of the spirit; for the letter killeth but the spirit giveth life.

The scripture talks about "the letter". What it is saying is that the law was made to guide and direct one into doing what is right. In the Old Testament, the people of God were guided by the law, and so we have the ten commandments. It was full of *"thou shalt not".* Today, in all the nations of the earth, we have laws that are guiding the operations of each nation. As much as the laws are good, some acts are technically lawful, yet they have sinful consequences in the spirit.

What is more is that, law changes with regimes or the march of history. The law that is good and appropriate in one regime may be abolished in another regime. What many found acceptable in one generation may be considered unjust by another. Thus, while our law and the letter inscribed there upon may serve its purpose in regulating society, as children of God they are not sufficient. Serving society as a law abiding citizen may be noble, good and commendable, but in the end, it is inferior to devoting one's spirit to God's everlasting truth in the New Testament.

Brethren, receiving the Word of God and His grace is far better than receiving and obeying the earthly letters of men ( the law). We should pray that God should lead us in His Holy path that will lead us to everlasting life. As much as we need to obey the law of the land, our first and foremost devotion is to God who is the Judge of all. We should follow the moral order of Christ rather than the moral order of the world dictates by the law. That is why the scripture says, we should walk in the spirit so that we would not fulfill the lust of the flesh. *The letter (law) killeth, but the Spirit giveth life, so walk in the Spirit.*

*PRAYER:*
Father, help me to walk in the Spirit always so that I may have life, in Jesus' Name.

*GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF THEE*

*ZEPHANIAH 3:17*
17. The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

In the world today, we find it difficult to find a friend or even a relative who is faithful to his or her words. On a daily basis, we are struggling to find a faithful person. Infact, your most trusted friend, may be your greatest enemy. The friend that promises to be with you come rain come sunshine may be the first person to desert you when trouble or problem comes. He or she will even join the crowd to mock and condemn you. But thanks be to God, we have a faithful Father who we can put our trust in without worrying and without fear. He is always with us, backing us up.

The scripture above is an example of God's promises that has never expired or failed. God has always promised to be with us even before we became faithful to Him. God's love runs deep for His children, the lost, and the found. He has chosen to remain with us until the end, and He does not intend on changing that. If you ever found yourself questioning whether God is with you or not, take heart and know this truth that, God will always be with you. He will never leave you. He will never disappoint you. He is not a friend that will desert you when troubles, trials, and challenges come.

All you need to do is to keep on thanking and holding on to Him for not leaving you alone to the wishes of your enemies. Thank Him for being a recipient of His love. Thank Him for making life meaningful for you. Thank Him for being always there for you. Thank Him for answering your prayers when you prayed. Remember He is a God that is near, not a God afar off. Give God thanks always.

*PRAYER:*
Father, I thank You for allowing me to be a recipient of Your love, and for making my life meaningful, in Jesus' Mighty Name.

*THERE IS POWER IN POSITIVE CONFESSION*

*JOEL 3:10*
10. Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

Many believers desire to rise in life but unfortunately we bring ourselves down by the words of our mouth. For prophet Joel to tell the people to say, *"Let the weak say, I am strong",* he knew that there is a power backing up whatever comes out of our mouth. Let not loose words, uncoordinated words, unedifying words come out of your mouth. Remember the scripture says in Proverbs 18:21 that, *"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof".* Whatever you will be in life depends on what comes out of your mouth.

If you want to rise in life, you want to be healthy, you want to be rich, then speak right words into your life. Confess positively. God gave us words as a source of power. He gave us words as agents of our rising or falling. Even when you find yourself in a fallen situation, speak good words to yourself. A renowned servant of God has said several times that he cannot be poor, and today, he is not poor, because he refuses to speak poverty into his life.

As you go on the journey of life, from now on, always say what you want, what God's Word says about you, because whatever you say, you will see. May you never not talk amiss again. You will not speak the wrong things into your life again. Don't speak wrong things into your life because of economic situation. Don't join the multitudes to say *"it is finished",* when it is not finished. Life will not be finished for you, your destiny will not finish or crash-land in Jesus' Name. Speak faith-filled words always, and you will see them happening. The Word of God says, *Let the weak say I am strong.* Learn to speak what God's says about you. Praise God.

*PRAYER:*
Whatever good that might have fallen in your life before, the powerful hands of God will lift it up. As you speak positively into your life you will have whatever you say, in Jesus' Name.

*TAKE RESPONSIBILITY*

*PSALMS 51:3—4*
3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4. Against thee, thee only have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight : that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

This is one of David's prayers acknowledging his sin before God. My brethren, if you want to rise in life, you have to take responsibility for everything that concerns you. Your faults, your fallen, your errors and your mistakes made, etc. Sometimes, predicaments might have befallen you for a mistake made, learn to accept that you are the cause of your predicaments.

David said in verse 4 of today's reading above that, *"Against you and you alone, have I sinned, I have done what is evil in your sight".* You will be proved right in what you say, when you acknowledge your fault, and God will always forgive you. People that accept responsibility for their mistakes/faults will always rise in life. But when you keep shifting blame, such as, my problem is caused by family battles, by one curse or the other, etc, you won't be able to rise. Don't keep shifting blames till old age.

There are people who failed in businesses and attributed the failures to some forces even when they are the ones that mismanaged the businesses. Many will be looking for a job and get late for the interview, and attribute any failure at the interview to the interviewers. You must learn to take responsibility for your actions and stop blaming others. In today's scripture, David acknowledged his sin before God. He took responsibility for his mistakes, please do the same, and God will give you that grace, and you will rise again.

*PRAYER:*
As you humbly go into the Presence of God, the Lord will lift you up and His mercy will prevail over your faults, in Jesus' Name.

*REVERENCE OVER RUSHING*

*ECCLESIASTES 5:1—2*
1. Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.

2. Do not be rash with your mouth,
And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God.
For God is in heaven, and you on earth;
Therefore let your words be few.

The Word of God is calling us into a posture of deep reverence before God, especially as regards our conduct in the church. In a world filled with noise, quick opinions, and impulsive speeches, this scripture reminds us that approaching God is not casual—it is sacred. We are urged to listen more and speak less, to avoid careless words and empty promises.

True worship is not about how much we say, but how sincerely we listen and obey. God is not impressed by volume or verbosity; He desires hearts that are attentive, humble, and aligned with His will. Rash vows and hurried prayers often reveal a lack of reflection and understanding of who God truly is—sovereign, holy, and far above us.

This passage challenges us to slow down in God’s Presence. Instead of rushing to speak, we should cultivate stillness, allowing God to speak into our hearts. When we do speak, our words should be thoughtful, sincere, and rooted in truth.

Today, consider your approach to God. Are your prayers thoughtful or hurried? Do you take time to listen, or are you quick to speak? Ask for the grace to develop a quiet, attentive spirit before Him. In reverence, you will find restoration, and in stillness, clarity. Hallelujah!

*PRAYER:*
Father, give me the grace to guard my lips from speaking what is wrong, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen. (Psalms 141:3).

*THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION IF YOU ARE IN CHRIST*

*ROMANS 8:1*
1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.

If you want to rise again after your sins might have been forgiven you, after you might have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus, don't condemn yourself again. Avoid self guilt and self condemnation. Once you genuinely repent of your sins, God will remember your sins no more. People may remember that you committed so much sin, but God does not remember the sin again after genuine repentance.

Remember that God is the determinant of what happens to man in life, it is not man. You might have made some mistakes, you might have committed some errors in the past, yet avoid self guilt, avoid self condemnation, concerning your marriage, concerning your business, and concerning your work place, etc. After repentance and you have taken responsibilities concerning those errors, God has forgiven you and you must erase it from your heart.

Self condemnation is a destroyer of one's life and destiny. Self condemnation takes power away from you. It snatches away your strength and self esteem. So relax, God has forgiven you and you will rise again. Every thing will be normal again. You will shine in the presence of those that have said it is over for you. *The above scripture says, "There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after flesh but after the spirit".* You have been forgiven, you are no longer walking after the flesh but after the spirit. Therefore, you are no longer condemned. If God do not condemn you, nobody can condemn you. You are a free citizen of heaven. Praise God.

*PRAYER:*
May the blood of Jesus Christ erase out of your life every spirit of self-condemnation, in Jesus' Name.

*WHAT RIGHT LIVING ENTAILS*

*2 PETER 1:5—8*
5. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge,
6. And to knowledge temperance, and to temperance patience, and to patience godliness;
7. And to godliness, brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness, charity.
8. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many of us believers are ignorant of what is demanded of us by our Lord Jesus. Many are called ministers but never knew what their callings and elections entail. As believers, for our callings and elections to be sure, we need the things listed in the scripture reading today. Peter was admonishing Christians that despite the fact that there are great and precious promises for us and one of the promises is that, we shall be partakers of God's divine nature, yet we need to have all these qualities listed above. Without them, we cannot be partakers of God's divine nature.

Beloved, the clear path to righteous living is what Peter was telling them here. And it is for us too. But in our own efforts we cannot work righteousness out. We need the help of the Holy Spirit, if not, our efforts will be weak and minimal. All we need to do is to have all these qualities to be able to live in righteousness and to have the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The above scripture has shown us the path we should tread to live righteous. It is now our choice whether or not to follow the path laid down for us. If you follow the path of diligence, being virtuous, patient, kind, temperance, godly, and charity which is love, you will be a partaker of God's divine nature. To live right or be holy, you need all these for without holiness no one can see God.

*PRAYER:*
Father, grant me the grace to follow the righteous path all the days of my life, in Jesus' Mighty Name.

*YOU WILL RISE AGAIN*

*MICAH 7:7—8*
7. Therefore I will look unto the LORD, I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise, when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

The writer of the book of Micah has fallen already, but he had an assurance and courage that he will rise again. Brethren, I want you all to have the courage and an assurance that you will rise again, no matter what you are suffering right now.

Things are not going well with some of us like before, you are not making it like before, the business is collapsing, it seems you are retrogressing; I want you to be courageous and have this confidence that you will rise again. All of you that have fallen, don't loose hope, you will surely rise again.

I don't know the nature of your falling, may be it is your work, your finances, may be it is your spiritual life, your ministry, your marital life, whatever is the nature of that fall, you will rise again. No matter the challenges, be courageous enough to take a step forward and shame the devil, and all those rejoicing at your fall, will be disappointed when you rise again. If your business is going down, don't be discouraged and don't close down. Take a step forward and speak to that business to rise again. Don't be discouraged to rewrite that examination again. It is when you are down that the enemies will rejoice and laugh at you.

You will rise again and sing with joy. Wherever they say it is over for you, you will sing and rejoice there. Just believe and follow the directives of God through His Words, and you will rise again. Hallelujah.

*PRAYER:*
As you wait on God for your lifting, God will hear your prayers, and He will lift you up again, in Jesus' Name.

*THE WORD OF GOD IS POWERFUL*

*HEBREWS 4:12*
12. For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thought and intent of the heart.

The Word of God is so powerful: it is able to reform minds, compel hearts and transforms lives. When you read the Word of God or come into contact with God through prayer, your life will not remain the same way. The Word of God contains life, and as we become exposed to it, that life comes into contact with our hearts and we are changed, transformed.

God's Word has a transforming power. It can transform a poor man into a rich man. It can transform an unhealthy person into a healthy one. It can transform a condemned criminal into a free and a saint person. It transforms from hell into eternity. We have seen different transformations in the lives of believers. Brethren, embrace this Word of God. Make it your delight. The Bible says, *"whoever takes delight in the words of God and meditates on it daily shall be blessed and be fruitful *(Psalms 1:1—3).*

It is the Word of God that have saved us from the clutches of darkness, and has brought us into light. If not for the Word of God, the lives of many of us might have been in a mess. Are you faced with challenges in your home, your career, your business, your family and in your marriage, etc? Send the Word of God into those areas of challenges. *Your life wire as a believer is the Word of God.* You hear what the Psalmist says in Psalms 119:105 *"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path".* Embrace this Word of God, meditate on it day and night and let the Word be a light unto you and it shall be well with you. Praise God!

*PRAYER:*
Father, let the transforming power of Your Word, transform my life and destiny, in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen!

*PRAYER CHANGES THINGS*

*2 SAMUEL 15:31*
31. And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom, And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

This is the story of Absalom's conspiracy against his father David. Absalom indirectly stole the heart of men of Israel to his side. Absalom sent for Ahithophel David's counsellor and he got him also to his side. This news got to David that his adviser, Ahithophel is now with Absalom. David was troubled and afraid. David was afraid because he knew that when Ahithophel gives counsel, it is always like the voice of God. He was so wise and whatever he says always come to pass.

However, king David did not keep quiet. He prayed that the Lord should turn Ahithophel's counsel to Absalom into foolishness. And the Lord answered.

Beloved, sometimes when we are faced with situations that seem to be greater than us, something that sends fear down our spines, what we suppose to do is what David did. He prayed to God. When you are faced with challenges, go on your knees, pray and ask God to handle them for you. And God hears and answers prayers. And you will not be put to shame. What suppose to cause you shame shall be removed. The plan of the enemy over you shall be cancelled. That thing that is causing fear will be frustrated.

*PRAYER:*
The God that turned the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness will cancel every plan of the wicked ones concerning you, in Jesus' Name.
