Living a life of faith takes courage. Most people don’t realize it, but it does! It takes courage to stand up in the face of sickness and declare you’re healed by the stripes of Jesus. It takes courage to believe for prosperity and put your last dime in the offering plate when poverty is staring you in the face. There are going to be some days when you’d rather pull the covers over your head and hide than take another faith stand against the devil. But you can’t. Because the battle of faith isn’t fought once and then forgotten. If you want to keep living in victory, you have to fight it again and again.

There’s no way around it. Of course, some of God’s people still try to find one. The Israelites, for example, thought their battles should be over when they crossed the Red Sea. So when they heard reports of giants living in the Promised Land, they decided they couldn’t face the fight. Their courage failed them. So they took a 40-year detour through the wilderness.

But you know what? They still couldn’t avoid that fight. When the time came for the next generation to enter the Promised Land, the giants were still there!

This time, however, they found the courage to face them. Where did they find it? In the Word of God. Their leader, Joshua, had obeyed the instruction of the Lord and kept that Word on his mind and in his heart day and night. He’d meditated on it and let it constantly remind him that God was on their side.

If you’re going to fight the good fight of faith to the finish, you’ll have to do just like Joshua did. You’ll have to continually draw courage from the Word of God. So make up your mind to do it. Get into that Word and let it change you from a coward to an overcomer. Then march into battle and slay the giants in your land.

A Quick Reminder
And now let me remind you [since it seems to have escaped you], brethren, of the Gospel (the glad tidings of salvation) which I proclaimed to you, which you welcomed and accepted and upon which your faith rests. (1 Corinthians 15? AMP)

There are times in each of our lives when it may feel as if our spiritual walk has dried up. Instead of experiencing an abiding joy, we feel only dissatisfaction. Perhaps you may be feeling this way right now.

The apostle Paul may have encountered the same situation, because he knew just what to write to the church in Corinth. These people were born-again, spirit-filled believers, yet he said it was needful to remind them of something: he wanted them to hold on to what they’d already learned. If doing so was necessary in Paul’s time, then it’s even more necessary for us.

Oftentimes we think we just need the minister to bring a new revelation we’ve never heard to get us back on the right spiritual track. But we don’t. What we really need is to be reminded of the truths that have escaped us.

Some Christians have an attitude that says, “I’ve heard that before” or “I already know that.” What they don’t understand is this: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10? NKJV). Faith comes when the Holy Spirit reveals the truth afresh to you, when the God’s Word drops from your head to your heart.

As you review and remind yourself of the truths you learned before, ask the Holy Spirit to make them a fresh revelation to you.

Confession: Holy Spirit, I ask You to give me a fresh revelation of the basic truths that set me free. I ask for a fresh revelation of the power of Your word, of faith, and of

Never forget You Are God’s Most Prized Possession...
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man, that you care for him? For you made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor. (Psalm 8?-5, NIV)

Have you ever just stopped to look around at God’s creation? A beautiful evening sunset, a clear, star-filled night, and the distant terrain of a majestic mountain are sights that take your breath away.

And yet, as breathtaking as God’s creation may be, there is something He prizes even more highly than His creation—you! You are God’s most prized possession. In fact, in His mind you are His prized possession above the stars, above the moon, above the heavens, and above all His creative handiwork.

Seeing God as the very Artist of Creation, the psalmist was asking, “Lord, You’re so magnificent and creative, why would You have anything to do with man? Why would you be so mindful of him?”

An artist may display the many wonderful, creative pieces he designs, but there’s always one that is his most prized possession. As the Artist of Creation, this is the way God feels about you. You are His most prized possession.

Confession: Thank you, Father, that You are always mindful of me, thinking thoughts of love, good, and favor toward me. Thank you that I am your most prized possession.
