Someone else is dreaming of waking up in the bed you take for granted...

The meals you rush through without thanks are a feast to someone starving...

The fresh air you breathe in without notice is a miracle for those who struggle for every breath...

The spouse or partner whose imperfections frustrate you is someone else’s prayer for companionship...

The moments of silence you crave are the very moments someone longs to fill with the laughter of loved ones...

The education you sometimes find exhausting is the opportunity someone else would sacrifice everything to have...

The struggles you face are someone else’s opportunity to grow...

So, don’t let the weight of life steal the joy from your blessings. Every challenge you endure is a seed of grace waiting to bloom. šŸ™

Today, I attended SUMBEAM DAY CAMP B.C, D.S.C. I was privileged to take the Bible Exhortation:

Dorcas: A True Disciple

Text: Acts 9:36-42

Good morning, children! Today, we’re going to talk about someone very special in the Bible. Her name was Dorcas, and she is a great example of what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus. By the end of today, you’ll be able to tell me who Dorcas was, what happened to her, who prayed for her, and what we can learn from her story. Let’s get started!

1. Who Was Dorcas?

Dorcas, also known as Tabitha, was a woman who lived in a town called Joppa. The Bible says she was a disciple of Jesus. That means she followed Jesus and tried to live like Him. Dorcas spent her time doing good things, especially helping poor people and widows. She made clothes for those who couldn’t afford them and showed love to everyone around her. She was kind, generous, and always ready to help.

Let me ask you: Do you help others when they need something? Maybe your friend needs help with their homework or someone at home could use your help with a chore. When we help others, we are being like Dorcas!

2. What Happened to Dorcas?

One day, something very sad happened—Dorcas got sick and died. The people who loved her were heartbroken. All the widows and the poor people who she had helped were so sad that they showed everyone the clothes Dorcas had made for them. They missed her kindness and love so much.

But guess what? God had a plan to show His power and love through this sad situation.

3. Who Prayed for Dorcas?

When Dorcas died, the disciples sent for a man named Peter, who was one of Jesus’ apostles. When Peter reached 4, he saw how much people loved Dorcas. He asked everyone to leave the room, and then he knelt down and prayed to God. After praying, Peter said, ā€œDorcas, get up!ā€ And guess what happened? Dorcas opened her eyes and came back z life! Isn’t that amazing?

God answered Peter’s prayer, and Dorcas was alive again. When the people saw this miracle, many of them believed in Jesus.

4. Lessons We Can Learn from Dorcas’ Story

Now let’s talk about what we can learn from this story. Dorcas was a true disciple, and there are a few important lessons we can take from her life:

• Help Others: Dorcas spent her life helping people in need. We can be true disciples of Jesus by showing kindness and helping others, just like Dorcas did. Can you think of one way you can help someone this week?
• Good Deeds: Even though Dorcas died, the people remembered her for the good things she had done. When we help others, God sees it, and it makes Him happy. Every small act of kindness matters.
• The Power of Prayer: When Peter prayed, God performed a miracle and brought Dorcas back to life. This shows us that prayer is powerful, and God hears us when we pray.
• Jesus Gives Life: Just as Jesus brought Dorcas back to life, He gives us life too. He gives us new life when we follow Him, and He fills our hearts with love and joy.

Conclusion

Children, just like Dorcas, you can be a true disciple of Jesus. You don’t have to wait until you’re grown up to start helping others. You can be kind and loving right now! When you follow Jesus and show love to others, you are making a difference, just like Dorcas did.

So this week, let’s remember to be like Dorcas. Let’s help others, show kindness, and always trust in the power of God’s love.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank You for teaching us about Dorcas and her kind heart. Help us to be like her and show love to others. Teach us to pray and trust You in all things. Amen.

Now, who can tell me who Dorcas was?
What happened to Dorcas?
Who prayed for Dorcas?
Share with me what you learned today from the story of Dorcas.

For the zeal of your house has
eaten me up,
and the scorn of those who scorned
you have fallen on me.

Psalms 69

This is one reason Jesus was scorned and dishonored and treated as a stranger by His own people.

Some people are extremely zealous for making money, for gaining power, for their own honor, or for other things of this world, but they cannot stand anyone who is zealous for the one true God. They call it fanaticism.

They cannot understand anyone caring that much about God’s house, God’s work, God’s honor.

They are blind and ignorant about the importance of these things. The Lord Jesus had so much zeal for God He was consumed by it. Jesus also became the object of insults the ungodly aimed at God.⚜

What is fueling your zeal?

Peace āœŒļø

I have asked myself several times if it takes true love to sustain marriage… I even looked through boyfriend and girlfriend relationships if true love sustains it… But myfinds was amazing. Lemi share with you…

True love in marriage is deeply rooted in the biblical principle of selfless love, as exemplified by Christ’s love for the Church. Ephesians 5:25 says, ā€œHusbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.ā€

This bottomless love is not based on fleeting emotions but on a steadfast commitment to sacrificially serve one another. It is this type of love that fosters marital peace, a harmony that arises when both partners are dedicated to living out Christ-like love in their relationship.

Marital peace is also illustrated in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, where the writer speaks of the strength that comes from two people working together in unity. ā€œTwo are better than one because they have a good return for their labor… A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.ā€ This, emphasizes the importance of unity and partnership in marriage, with God as the third strand that strengthens the bond. When couples prioritize their spiritual connection and seek God’s guidance, they are more likely to experience enduring peace.

Divorce, while acknowledged in Scripture, is viewed as contrary to God’s ideal design for marriage. In Matthew 19:6, Jesus said, ā€œTherefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.ā€ This stresses the sanctity of marriage as a covenant before God one meant to be lifelong. Jesus, in his teaching on divorce, clarifies that while Moses permitted divorce, was due to the hardness of people’s hearts (Matthew 19:8), it was never part of God’s original plan. Instead, couples are called to pursue reconciliation and forgiveness, emulating the love and patience God shows toward us.

A powerful biblical example of marital endurance is found in the story of Hosea and Gomer (Hosea 1-3). Despite Gomer’s unfaithfulness, Hosea is commanded by God to love her and take her back, symbolizing God’s unwavering commitment to Israel despite their spiritual infidelity. This story illustrates the depth of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation that can restore broken relationships. It's also a result that no matter how challenging a marriage may become, God’s grace can heal and restore what seems lost.

In summary, Scripture calls couples to love each other with the same sacrificial, enduring love that Christ shows toward humanity. Divorce is not seen as the solution to marital problems; instead, the Bible encourages couples to seek God’s help, work through their struggles, and strive for reconciliation. By embodying true love and commitment, marital peace can be cultivated, and the marriage covenant can remain intact, reflecting God’s purpose and glory.

To my dear friends,

I want to remind you with love and sincerity that Jesus Christ is the only way to our salvation. As it is written in the Scriptures, Jesus Himself declared, ā€œI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Meā€ (John 14:6). This means that through His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus made it possible for us to be reconciled with God and receive eternal life. Trust in Him, follow His teachings, and let His love guide you in all that you do. Only through Christ can we find true peace, forgiveness, and a path to everlasting life.

With grace and peace,
E.A. TOKA

The Living Word

In the quiet of dawn’s first light,
I open the pages, pure and bright.
A whisper of truth flows through the air,
A sacred dialogue of hope and prayer.

The words dance softly upon my soul,
Unfolding stories that make me whole.
From Genesis to Revelation’s end,
Each verse a compass, a lifelong friend.

In Psalms, I find my heart’s refrain,
In Proverbs, wisdom calls my name.
The Gospels sing of grace and peace,
In every line, my faith’s increase.

Through prophets’ cries and apostles’ pen,
I hear God’s voice again and again.
A timeless love that speaks anew,
To guide me in all I think and do.

The Bible is not just ink on page,
But living water, age to age.
A light unto my path, my way,
A beacon in the night and break of day.

So, with each dawn, I seek its truth,
A wellspring of eternal youth.
For in these words, my soul takes flight,
A journey deep into God’s light. TEA
