The Great Faith Branch of Word of Life Bible Church runs with the vision God gave to his servant, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, when he called him:
"Building and equipping the people that build the nation"

With great faith, we are committed to building the people that will birth GOD's own nation through effective communication of God's word and diligent prayers in the Spirit. By the workings of God's grace, we have raised believers that are influencing different spheres of the world through the knowledge of God. Worship with us today and experience the grace to become a NATION BUILDER. Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

*RECEIVE THE MANTLE OF POWER*

"And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;"
(2 Kings 2:12-13)

When Elijah was taken away by a chariot of fire, Elisha took the mantle that fell from him. Someone may ask what kind? It was the Holy Ghost!

The Bible went on to tell us that the sons of the prophets stood afar off, watching to see what would become of Elisha. There are certain persons watching to see what will become of you. Do you also know that there are some persons praying for your downfall? If they could negotiate with God for your downfall, they would plead with Him to do so. Fortunately, God does not answer such prayers.

There are some persons; all that they do night and day is to conspire against you. They are jealous of you and of what God is doing in your life. Because people are jealous of you, does it now mean you should hate them? No. Let them watch. David said I want to see your power and glory as I saw it in the sanctuary. Beloved, when you come to church, God will make your mockers see shame.

Elisha held up the mantle and waved it. The sons of the prophets were still watching him. They were saying to themselves that Elisha was going to fail. Then, Elisha took the mantle, lifted it up, and shouted, "...Where is the LORD God of Elijah?" (2 Kings 2:14). In other words, Elisha was saying, where is the Lord God of my father? And then, Elisha used the mantle to hit the River Jordan, and it parted into two. Notice, after that day, he did not call it the God of his father any more. Why? Because he suddenly realised that he had gotten a double portion of the Holy Ghost. Beloved, desire today to walk in a new dimension

DESCEND POWERFULLY ON YOUR ENEMIES

"And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on." (2 Kings 2:6)

Elijah did not stop at Jericho, but he and Elisha decided to go to Jordan. The Hebrew word for Jordan means "To descend." I did further research and also found out that Jordan comes from the Hebrew root word that means "Enemy." Then, I joined these two words together and discovered that Jordan means "Descend on the enemy." When you come down from the mountain of power, you descend powerfully on your enemies.

When Jesus and His disciples were on top of the mountain, the glory of God came down. So they said, let us build three tabernacles here, but Jesus refused.

Beloved, we don't run from the devil; the devil runs from us. We can have power on top of the mountain. Do you know when you come to church, the devil will leave you alone? You can be in church, but the devil is waiting for you outside. If you are not coming down with power, you are in trouble. There is power within you which you must descend on your enemies with.

When Elijah was taken away, his mantle fell on Elisha. People don't know what you've got. Do you know some persons come and boast to you, telling you that they will teach you a lesson? If you are a child of God, look at them, smile, and tell them that they can't, but God will teach them a lesson.

Beloved, you have the capacity to defeat your enemies. Jordan is the place where the enemy comes like a flood, but God raises a standard against him. If the enemy attacks you in one way, they will flee in seven ways. If you are following on to know the Lord, you won't be afraid of witches and wizards, but you will confront them head-on.

Further Reading: Isaiah 59:19.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, raise a standard against my enemies, in Jesus' name. Amen

THE BREATH OF GOD'S POWER

"And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho." (2 Kings 2:4)

Elijah was still not satisfied being in Bethel. He told Elisha that the Lord had instructed him to move from Bethel to Jericho. I checked for the meaning of Jericho, and I found out it comes from the Hebrew root word that means "Breath." Jericho is the place of power. Jericho is the place where God breathes His power on you.

Many Christians have entered the house of God, but they lack God's power. In Acts 1:8, and Luke 10:19, Jesus promised and released His power.

Beloved, God wants you to live a powerful Christian life. Too many people have entered the house of God but you are not filled with the power of the Holy Ghost. God wants to fill you with the power of the Holy Ghost today. If you are not living right, God's power will enable you to live right.

In John 20, the Bible tells us that the disciples gathered in a room because they were afraid. The Bible went on to tell us that Jesus appeared. When He appeared to His disciples, He breathed on them and said to them, "...Receive ye the Holy Ghost." If you are a believer in Christ, you need the Holy Ghost and you need power. Let me throw more light on something. Speaking in other tongues is not the power. But speaking in other tongues helps you in operating in the power of the Holy Ghost.

Further Reading: Acts 1:8. Luke 10:19

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, breathe Your power on me, in Jesus' name. Amen!

WORDS OF WISDOM: Jericho is the place where God breathes His power on
you.

MONDAY 24TH, AUGUST 2026

TOPIC: LET BETHEL DWELL IN YOU

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
(Psalms 23:6)

You can be in a church building and yet not be in the house of God. The house of God is the presence of God. In our main scripture, David said he would dwell in God's house forever. Does he mean you should come and live permanently in a church building? No. He meant that even when church service is over and you go home, you should remain in the presence of God.

In Genesis 28, Jacob was very religious. He defrauded his brother of his birthright and ran away from home. One fateful night, he lay down to sleep, thinking that he had run away from God and from everybody. As he slept, Jacob's spiritual eyes were opened. He saw a ladder with angels ascending and descending on it. The next day, when he woke up, Jacob said, "Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not" (Verse 16). In verse 17, Jacob went on to say, "...How dreadful is this place! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."

There are a lot of people who come to church but they don't even know that they can become carriers of the presence of God. When you go out of church, you still must be mindful that you are in the presence of God. Don't only enjoy the presence of God in church; be a carrier of God's presence. You are the church and the church is you.

FURTHER READING: Psalms 16:11, Psalms 122:1, 1 Peter 2:5.

WORDS OF WISDOM: Bethel in you the hope of heaven.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, make me a carrier of your presence, in Jesus name Amen!

TOPIC: BREAK FREE FROM GILGAL, STEP INTO BETHEL

"And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel." (2 Kings 2:1-2)

Elijah and Elisha went to Gilgal. Gilgal means "a wheel." There are a lot of people in the church who are going round in a religious circle. They don't know God, but they are very religious. They clap, sing and do everything everyone does in church, but they don't know God.

Do you know that Elijah refused to remain in Gilgal? Elijah told Elisha to stay there, but the Lord had sent him to Bethel. However, Elisha said to Elijah, "As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel" (Verse 2). In other words, Elisha was saying to him that if you have been my pastor for twenty years, let's move from Gilgal to Bethel.

I went on to search for the meaning of Bethel, and I found out it means "The house of God." In other words, Elijah and Elisha moved from religion to the house of God.

As a little boy, my mother and I would go to church. When it was time for the pastor to close the service, there was an Urhobo song the Pastor would sing. That song woke me up from sleep. When I heard it, I knew that the pastor had rounded off his message. There was nothing wrong with that song. It means Jesus is calling you. Sunday after Sunday we sang that song for formality. Some of us were going round a religious circle. Beloved, Christianity is not a religion; it's a relationship with Jesus.

Hosea 6:3.

WORDS OF WISDOM: Christianity is not a religion.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, deliver me from the spirit of religion. Let me have an encounter with You,

LOYALTY: ACID TEST OF MATURITY

"And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal." (2 Kings 2:1)

In 2 Kings 2, Elijah was Elisha's pastor for twenty years. I have been a pastor for over fifty years. When I see some persons that I have pastored for over fifty years, my soul rejoices. Elijah was Elisha's pastor for twenty years. It is a very painful thing when you see people who have been in church for only six months and you no longer see them again. You search for them, but you cannot find them.

There is a lady that comes to my mind right now. I had known that lady for probably a couple of years. I did not see her in church again. I sent three persons to her and she told them that she had decided to backslide. She told them that someone offended her, so because of that she wasn't going to serve God anymore.

Hosea said that we shall know, if we follow on to know the Lord. It takes deep understanding to follow on to know the Lord. It takes sacrifice to follow on to know, and it also takes hard work to follow on. You will have to accept insults just to be able to follow on. Do you think if I had listened to people's words, I would still be preaching the gospel today? No. People have called me all sorts of names. But the good thing is, when your heart is right with God, you will follow on and continually serve God in spite of the challenges of life.

Further Reading: 2 Kings 2:1-14.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, give me the grace for sustainability, in Jesus' name. Amen!

WORDS OF WISDOM: It takes deep understanding to follow the Lord.

THAT I MAY KNOW HIM

"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;" (Philippians 3:10)

There is general knowledge of God. But when you accept Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour, there is another dimension of knowledge of God. You must increase in your knowledge of God. You must learn how to press on and know the Lord one day at a time. No wonder Daniel says: "The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits" (Daniel 11:32). Also, Hosea declared: "Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD" (Hosea 6:3).

According to Bible scholars, when Paul declared, "That I may know Him," at this point Apostle Paul had been converted for twenty years. So, after twenty years of being a Christian, what did he mean by this? He was saying that for the rest of your life, you cannot stop knowing God. Your knowledge of God must continue every day. If you follow on, you will know the Lord.

In Psalms 42:1-2, David said, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?" Also, in Psalms 63:1-2, David said, "...my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; to see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary."

My prayer for you today is that a fresh hunger will come up in your spirit, so that you will desire to know and grow in your knowledge of God more and more.

Further Reading: Matthew 5:6.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, reveal Yourself to me, in Jesus' name. Amen!

WORDS OF WISDOM: Increase in your knowledge of God.

DEALING WITH YOUR WEAK POINT-2

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us," (Hebrews 12:1)

Eve's weak point was stubbornness. Eve, who was the mother of all mankind, God instructed and warned them not to touch the fruit of a particular tree, but she touched it. The devil created that situation, used it against her, she fell, and destroyed the entire human race. Moses, the great man of God, had a weak point. His weak point was anger. The serpent used his weak point against him. Moses, the great man of God, did not enter the Promised Land because of anger. Esau had a weak point. His weak point was food. The devil used it against him. He lost his birthright. Reuben, who was Jacob's firstborn, had a weak point. His weak point was s*x. The evil serpent used it against him. Reuben slept with his father's wife, and he lost his birthright.

Judas Iscariot also had a weak point. His weak point was money. Do you know that some unbelievers are better than believers when it comes to the issue of money? When some believers see money, they forget the Holy Spirit and are ready to steal, even from church. They will steal from church without conscience and it doesn't bother them.

Beloved, know your weak point; don't let the devil use your weak point against you. Ananias and Sapphira's weak point was lying. There are Christians who still tell lies. If they tell you good morning, you will look through your window; it may be night. So many Christians even tell lies in church. Ananias and Sapphira lost their lives because of lying. Know your weak point and deal with it. If you don't do so, the devil will use it against you.

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"
(Hebrews 12:1)

Before I gave my life to Christ, I was a drug addict. I was addicted to smoking cannabis. I was so addicted to it that every five minutes I would smoke. No matter where I was, I smoked. I have even smoked cannabis in the police station before. When I gave my life to Christ, God set me free from that addiction. So, for six months I did not smoke cannabis.

One fateful day, I visited my cousin whom I had taught how to smoke cannabis. When I walked into his house, some of his friends were there. As we sat down, they began to smoke cannabis. As I was there, I was inhaling the odour.

As I looked at them, I saw how they were wrapping it; I knew they didn't know how to do it. So, I heard a voice telling me to go and teach them how to do it. With my Bible in my hand, I showed them how to do it. One of them pleaded with me to light it for him and I did. As I was inhaling the smoke, a voice spoke to me and called me a fool. I looked at myself and the environment I was in and the Bible in my hand. I dropped the stick of cannabis and stood up.

I asked God to forgive me, and I ran out of that place. The devil knew my weak point, pushed me into that place and created the environment for my weak point and I fell. Know your weak point and avoid places that will make you fall into sin.

FURTHER READING:
2 Corinthians 2:11.

WORDS OF WISDOM: If you don't deal with your weak point, it will deal with you.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, give me the strength to deal with my weak point, in Jesus name Amen!

TOPIC: BE WISE AS A SERPENT

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”
(Matthew 10:16)

There is something about this serpent that you must learn from and have. If you don’t have it, the devil will defeat you, especially in the area of sin. If you cannot be wise as a serpent, the devil will defeat you. Why? Because the evil serpent has the power to manipulate you and cause you to sin and then use it against you. In 2 Corinthians 2:11, the Bible says, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Most Christians are ignorant.

There are so many believers who don’t want to know anything. That is the major reason they cannot live a victorious Christian life. In 1 Corinthians 14:38, Apostle Paul said about the ignorant, “But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.” Let me give you a strategic piece of wisdom that will empower you to overcome the devil, the evil serpent. He must not have the upper hand over your life.

In Hebrews 12:1, the Bible says, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

The sin that easily besets you speaks of your weak point. You must know your weak point, because the devil knows it. If you don’t recognise it and overcome it, the devil will use it against you.

FURTHER READING: Hebrews 12:1-2.

WORDS OF WISDOM: If you cannot be wise as a serpent, the devil will defeat you.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Lord, help me to overcome my weak point, in Jesus name Amen!
