DATE: WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY 2020.

THEME: PRAYERS FOR YOUR NATION.

MEMORISE:

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 1 Timothy 2:2

READ: 1 Timothy 2:1-4

1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

PRAYER:

1. Praise God for your nation. Him for all the natural and human resources that He has given your nation.

2. Father, please have mercy on my nation for all the sins that have been committed on our land. Lord, Abednego.

3. Father, cause a great revival to break forth in my nation like in the days of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

4. Father, hear the cry of the poor, oppressed and needy in my nation.

5. Father, arise and let the enemies of my nation scatter.

6. Father, give the leaders of my nation wisdom to govern us correctly in the mighty name of Jesus.

7. Lord, destroy every disease the devil is using to take the lives of people in my nation.

8. Father, make my nation great spiritually, economically, technologically, and in all other positive ways.

9. Father, put an end to terrorism, wars, crime and disunity in my nation.

10. Father, let all the lawmakers and government officials in my nation carry out their duties according to Your leading.

11. Father, breathe into the educational sector of my nation so that our future will be bright.

12. Special prayer request for your nation.

I join my faith with yours and pray that the Lord will grant all your requests for your nation, in the mighty name of Jesus.

ACTION POINT:

Never join others to curse your nation; rather, pray always for the good of your nation.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 1-4

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 15: IN CHRIST ALONE.

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! - who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: TUESDAY 30TH 2020.

THEME: NO RELATIONSHIP.

MEMORISE:

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11

READ: 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

MESSAGE

Many people especially the youth have fallen into temptations that initially appeared like opportunities. These temptations often come in the form of employment opportunities with attractive salary packages, juicy offers of marriage, wonderful business opportunities or an open invitation to travel abroad and so on. Many of these irresistible offers camouflage terrible vices like prostitution, drug trafficking, gangsterism, forgery, cultism, impersonation and the like. God is calling out to you today: ignore the devil’s offer and have no relationship with satanic agents.

Christians must know that the devil’s offer is nothing but well packaged temptation. Beware of entering any satanic agent and be extra careful with their seemingly attractive but sinful propositions. Temptation is the pressure to yield to influence that can lead one away from God and into sin. However, falling for the devil’s trick to disobey God usually has devastating consequences as evidenced by the fall of humanity in Genesis 3:1-7. There are other examples of temptation in the Bible but the mother of them all is that of Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 4:1-11.

To avoid having any relationship with sin and the devil, Matthew 26:41 says “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation…..” watchfulness begins with the admonition of Proverbs 4:23 to “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” This is what Romans 12:2 referred to as “….the renewing of your mind” which is best done by filling your heart with the undiluted word of God. The next level of watchfulness is found in James 1:26 that cautions us to keep our mouth bridled in order not to sin with our tongue. Finally, 1 Peter 4:7 says:
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”

PRAYER:

Father, expose every move of the devil against me, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Much stronger than all my foes

CHORUS
Jesus loves me and I love Him
Together we rule the world

By His Blood, His Name, His Word

I am free, o yes, I am

• Yes, I know I am a victor
Stronger than lack, poverty
All my needs Jesus provides for
I have life abundantly

Barrenness no more indeed
Fruitful is the God I live for
All my dreams shall be fulfilled

BIBLE PASSAGE:

John 4:5-29.

[5]Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

[6]Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

[7]There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

[8](For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.).

[9]Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

[10]Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

[11]The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

[12]Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

[13]Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

[14]But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

[15]The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
[16]Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

[17]The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

[18]For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

[19]The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

[20]Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

[21]Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

[22]Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

[23]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

[24]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

[25]The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

[26]Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

[27]And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

[28]The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

[29]Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

*MEMORY VERSE:*

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30.

*INTRODUCTION*:

Everyone who has received the gift of salvation should have the desire to share that gift with others (2 Cor. 5:17-18). We have received something precious because of the kindness and generosity of others. We ought to be ready to pass it on to others who have yet heard or received the good news. The Lord Jesus Christ showed us this through His encounter with the woman by the well in Sychar. John 4:5.

TEXT REVIEW:

John 4:5-29.

The Lord Jesus, on His journey to Galilee, passed through Samaria and came to a city called Sychar where He met a woman fetching water form Jacob's well.
