God's desire is not for people to perish. People make choices, and those choices have consequences.

When we study Scripture, we discover something about God:
God is intentional about preparation.

God prepares people.
God prepares places.
God prepares circumstances.
God prepares opportunities.

God prepares people for the assignments He has given them.
Romans 8:29–30 says:
“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…”

God has prepared us for glory, and He has also prepared circumstances through which His glory can be manifested in our lives.
Romans 8:28 tells us:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
This means that even circumstances that do not appear good can ultimately be used by God for our good.

Consider the story of Esther.
Esther did not simply become queen by accident. God positioned her in the palace at the right time and placed her in proximity to the king so that she could eventually become an instrument for the preservation of God's people.

Her position was part of a larger purpose.
The Jews were facing extermination, yet God had already prepared a way of deliverance.

Human beings cannot ultimately sabotage God's plan.
What looked like an ordinary sequence of events was actually positioning Esther for an extraordinary assignment.

God prepared the person.
God prepared the place.
God prepared the circumstances.
And when the time came, Esther was in the position necessary to fulfill her purpose.

Consider Jonah.
God instructed Jonah to go to Nineveh, but Jonah ran in the opposite direction.

Yet God had already prepared circumstances that would bring Jonah back into alignment with His will.
God prepared a storm.

God prepared a great fish.
And eventually, Jonah ended up in the belly of the fish for three days.
At first glance, the belly of a fish looks like a place of destruction.
But for Jonah, it became a place of rescue.
It became a place of repentance.

It became a place where Jonah recognized his disobedience and returned to God's will.

Mummy Rhoda Heman Ackah.

In Romans 9:22–23, we see two kinds of vessels: vessels of wrath and vessels of mercy.

“What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory?

There are two vessels, and ultimately, we must choose which one we become.

What I become and who I become is influenced by my choices.
The Bible speaks about vessels that are prepared for destruction. Yet we must understand that God did not create people so that they would sin and then destroy them for committing the sins He forced them to commit. God is not wicked, nor is He the author of sin.

Romans 9:22 tells us that God endured the vessels of wrath with great patience and long-suffering. God gives people opportunities to repent, but when people continually reject Him and persist in sin, they eventually face the consequences of their choices.

They choose a life of self-pleasure rather than a life surrendered to God. They follow their passions and desires outside God's will, and eventually, they reap the consequences of what they have sown.
We must always remember the principle of sowing and reaping:
Whatever you sow, you will reap.

As long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will continue. When you sow according to your flesh, your desires, and your passions outside God's plan, you will eventually reap the consequences.

God's wrath will ultimately come upon the vessels of destruction, but God did not create them for destruction simply because He wanted to destroy them.

In fact, the place of everlasting fire was originally prepared for the devil and his angels, not humanity.

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’” — Matthew 25:41
