MESSAGE AND PICTORIAL HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR SPECIAL ANOINTING SUNDAY SERVICE, 9TH AUGUST 2026.
TOPIC: THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
TEXT: IS. 10:27; ACTS 10:38.
β
The Anointing is the Presence of God.
The Anointing is the Manifestation of Christ in and Through a Believer. It is what distinguishes a Believer for Divine Purpose and Service.
β
Every Person Carries Something Within. We are either Influenced and Governed by the Spirit of God or by the Spirit that Opposes God. Therefore, Believers Must Desire a Genuine Encounter With the Holy One.
β
THERE ARE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OF THE ANOINTING*
A. The Anointing Within
This refers to the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in a believer. It establishes us in Christ and helps us remain in fellowship with God.
π 1 John 2:20β27 β The Holy One has anointed us, and the anointing teaches us and helps us remain in Him.
π 2 Corinthians 1:21β22 β God establishes and anoints us, giving us the Holy Spirit as a seal and guarantee of what He has promised.
B. The Anointing Upon
This is the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that comes upon a believer for divine assignment, service, manifestation of God's power, healing, deliverance, and ministry.
π Luke 24:49 β Jesus instructed His disciples to wait until they were clothed with power from on high.
π Isaiah 61:1 / Luke 4:18 β The Spirit of the Lord anoints and empowers for ministry.
2. *WHAT DOES THE ANOINTING DO* ?
The anointing:
- π₯ Breaks yokes and brings freedom.
- πͺ Empowers us for service and divine assignment.
- π Teaches and guides us in the truth.
- ποΈ Brings revelation and spiritual understanding.
- β€οΈ Heals the brokenhearted.
- βοΈ Sets captives free.
- π Brings healing and deliverance.
3. *THE ANOINTING HELPS US TO REMAIN IN GOD*
The anointing is not merely about power or public manifestation. It also helps the believer stay right with God.
A person can desire the power of God without truly desiring the presence of God. But the genuine anointing draws us closer to God, teaches us His ways, and keeps our hearts aligned with Him.
π 1 John 2:27 β The anointing we have received abides in us and teaches us.
4. *THE ANOINTING AND DIVINE PURPOSE*
π Isaiah 61:1
π Luke 4:18
Jesus was anointed to:
- Preach good news to the poor.
- Heal the brokenhearted.
- Proclaim liberty to the captives.
- Give recovery of sight to the blind.
- Set the oppressed free.
- Proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Therefore, the anointing is given for a purpose. It is not merely for spiritual experiences; it is for the manifestation of God's will and the blessing of others.
5. *THE ANOINTING AND HEALING*
π James 5:14
The Scripture demonstrates the place of the anointing and prayer in ministering to the sick. The power belongs to God, while the believer becomes a vessel through which God works.
π₯ The anointing within keeps you connected to God; the anointing upon empowers you to serve God's purpose.
