RHEMA TODAY - FRIDAY, 21ST AUGUST, 2026

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." - Proverbs 4:23

The human heart (not the organ) is considered to be the center of a person's thoughts, emotions, desires, and will. Today's verse urges us to guard our hearts for our life flows through from it. As the core of who we are, we must give careful attention to what influences and shapes our innermost being. It tells us to watch over our hearts "with all diligence" which implies that it is not just a one-time act but continuous vigilance. No one else is responsible for the welfare and growth of our hearts but us. Everyday we are surrounded by things that can lead us astray, appealing to our sinful desires and corrupting our inner lives. If we are not intentional and watchful, we can easily be swayed by temptations. Just as a farmer takes due diligence in guarding his crops from pests, weeds, and diseases, we must make every effort to protect our hearts from worldly influences that can cause corruption to our thoughts, desires, emotions, and actions. Bad company, negative influences in various forms, and even our own harmful patterns of thinking or spiritually unhealthy perspective, can dig deep into our hearts if we are not careful. We have access to the greatest protector of our hearts, God and His Word. Our responsibility is to seek God by meditating on His Word, communicating with Him in prayer, and growing sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit. No one else will do this for us but we must make an effort and give value to this pursuit. The things that we allow to take root in our hearts molds our attitudes, perspectives, behaviors, and decisions. Whenever we fill our hearts with bitterness, anger, rage, malice, envy, and other sinful desires, it will overflow into our words and actions. But if we learn to turn away from the pull of the flesh and turn to God and fill our hearts with His Word, we will have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control, the fruits of the Spirit working in our hearts and manifesting in our words and actions. Glory to God!

AFFIRMATION
With the help of the Spirit, I am committed to the word of God, guarding my heart with its counsel, and manifesting the godhead daily. Hallelujah!

RHEMA TODAY - WEDNESDAY, 19TH AUGUST, 2026

“Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.” - Proverbs 3:30

In our everyday lives, we experience different kinds of conflict, whether it is at home, in the office, in the streets, or even in church. We hear and see conflicts happening in reality shows, social media, news, and even in our own neighborhood. Often, people find it easy to argue or fight over just about anything, even trivial things. The conflict becomes harder when it is driven by pride, anger, ego, or just because we want to be right and do all that we can to prove it. But this proverb teaches us differently, avoid unnecessary strife, especially when there is no cause or no harm is done. To "strive" here does not just mean physical harm but includes disputes, heated arguments, or even other deeper conflicts that breaks the peace between two or more people. This does not mean that we should avoid all kinds of conflicts. There are also necessary conflicts like when a brother in Christ is stubborn in his sin and he must be dealt with a rebuke. He might not like it and respond with resistance or anger but it is meant to be beneficial for his spiritual welfare and God has called us to correct our brothers or sisters when they sin. Unhealthy conflict happens when it is intended to bring harm to the other person, if it is done out of selfishness, or has malicious intent. Many friendships, family ties, marriages and even church relationships have been destroyed just because of the will to be right in proving a point or get into a fight for something that could have been resolved peacefully. We must reflect upon our common responses to others and see if we usually are quick to enter into conflict over things that we can just simply overlook. We must learn to pause, assess the size of the problem, and think of ways to resolve it peacefully. To value the relationship more than striving to be right. We may win the argument but in the end we lose something much more valuable, our relationships. Instead of striving to win arguments we should strive to imitate Christ in how He responds to unnecessary conflict. He was misunderstood, accused, humiliated, rejected, and betrayed yet He chose not to retaliate or strive without cause, even if He was in the right. To the point that even when He was unjustly crucified, He asked for forgiveness on behalf of those who were cruel to Him. What Christ demonstrated, showed us how we should respond in unnecessary conflict, in humility, patience, and self-control. We must learn to choose our battles. Not every battle is worth fighting for. But our relationships are worth more to fight for. Glory to God!

We all want to be blessed. Everyone has their own perception or idea of what a blessed life looks like. People value material wealth and work hard to attain it. We also hear sayings like, "health is wealth," and people do their best to stay healthy and have a long life. King Solomon, in all his wealth and wisdom, teaches us true blessedness as he personifies God's wisdom in today's verse. Pursuing God's wisdom and His favor brings great rewards. It does more than just add more years to our lives, it adds greater spiritual vibrance and life to our numbered years on earth. Living by His wisdom brings us a holistically healthy life, not just physical health, but also emotional, mental, and spiritual. Abiding by God's precepts and principles, brings true riches and honor that is not self-centered and self-sufficient but dependent upon God's generosity and love. When we live wisely according to God's will, our relationships become healthier, our decisions become wiser and we have a greater sense of purpose. In Christ, we have a life of peace, joy, and fulfillment. Life in Him is no longer just about extending our lives, or getting more prosperity but we gain eternal perspective and values. In fact, in Christ, it's much higher, our focus is not long life but to live for Him here on earth and in eternity. We are not just given material riches and the fading glory of man, but every spiritual blessing and a future glorification with Him. In Christ, we are truly blessed, left and right. Glory to God!

‎"Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it." - Proverbs 3:27

‎Most often, people are so caught up in working hard trying to earn to sustain us in our ever-increasing needs. Our minds are so filled with thoughts on how to address our own needs that we sometimes overlook opportunities to do good to others who are in greater need and have little or no capacity to meet their own. And sadly, when we are given the chance to do good, sometimes we choose to withhold help since we are only looking at the loss we incur if we give. There are times that we justify our ungenerosity with many different reasons like, "I'll give when I have more money," "I don't think this person deserves it," or "I will just make them more lazy if I give." Some of the reasons that we have not to give are valid while some are just excuses but this proverb tells us not to withhold doing good to others when we know that is within our power to do so. Doing good to those who are in need thoseis not just limited to financial assistance but also giving our time to those who need us, our effort to give a helping hand, lending our ears to those who are in need of someone to talk to, offering genuine prayer for those who are struggling, and many other acts of kindness we can extend to others. In moments that we want to reject helping those we can, let us remember God's goodness to us. We are undeserving yet He chose to be generous to us anyway, even to the point of sending His only begotten Son to die on the cross for our salvation. That while we were helpless, Christ gave sacrificially. As God has been good to us, may we reflect His character to those who are in need, even to those who are not Christians. As we extend God's goodness to the lost, we are acting as representatives of God's mercy and compassion. Such goodness can win over the lost to Christ, giving Him the glory He deserves. So beloved, choose not to delay or withhold demonstrating God's goodness to others. Glory to God!

‎RHEMA TODAY - SUNDAY, 16TH AUGUST, 2026

‎"When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet." - Proverbs 3:24

‎With so much going on in the world today, anxiety and restlessness are very common. With all the stress that we face, having a restful sleep can often feel elusive. At the end of the day, many people go to bed weighed down by the problems of the day and the worries of tomorrow. This proverb teaches us that we can find sweet sleep as we live in God's wisdom, highlighting the benefits we receive as we trust in Him. Abiding by God's wisdom, following His ways, seeking His guidance, and living according to His truth will grant us a gift that all the wealth of the world cannot buy: peace. It is a peace that not only affects our waking hours but also our sleep. Our fear, worries, and stress can rob us of a restful sleep. It can be fear of the uncertain future, financial challenges, or health problems. Whenever we find ourselves in restlessness, we must remember God's goodness and faithfulness. His heart is for us to rest in the assurance of His Word and be confident that everything is well under His control. He gives us sleep that refreshes both our body and soul as He watches over us all the time. To have that sweet sleep, we also need to play our part. Knowing this truth and not acting on it by faith will still make you restless. It also takes faith to rest easy and put all our trust in God. With God, even amidst our stressful days, we can still find peaceful rest as we lie down in our bed and learn to cast our fears and worries upon Him. In His Word and presence, there is sweet and peaceful sleep. Glory to God!
