RHEMA TODAY - SUNDAY, 4TH OCTOBER, 2026
"And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him." - Genesis 4:15
Ever heard of a criminal caught after doing a heinous crime, but instead of receiving the due death penalty, he is given protection? That is what God did for Cain who committed the first murder, yet God gave him mercy by not destroying him instantaneously. Despite Cain's sin, defiance, and lack of remorse, God put a sign on him. It was not a mark of condemnation but a mark of grace. He deserved death after what he did, yet God responded with mercy. Even though God cursed Cain to be a restless wanderer, God marked him to prevent others from killing him. What amazing grace at work in his life! We are no different from the sinful state of Cain. We all have sinned and have fallen short of God's glory. But instead of pouring out His justice and wrath upon us, His Son received it all for us and by His blood we are marked by grace. Because of the sacrifice of Christ, not only are we protected from eternal condemnation, we are reconciled to God and adopted as sons and daughters. Whenever we find ourselves swerving away from Him, the cross of Christ reminds us that grace is available for us to find our way back. That no matter how far we've fallen, His mercy still reaches us and restores us into fellowship with Him. Glory to God!
AFFIRMATION
I am marked by God's grace, forever delivered and sheltered from sin and Satan, forever kept in fellowship with God irrespective of my human flaws. Hallelujah!
