Google's Gemini Spark, announced at I/O 2026, quietly launched in beta on May 29 for US-based Google AI Ultra subscribers — a personal AI agent designed to reason across your connected apps, take actions on your behalf, and run 24/7 in the background.

Unlike a traditional chatbot, Spark monitors and acts autonomously, appearing as a new tab in the Gemini sidebar on web and between search and Daily Brief on mobile. This puts Google in direct competition with OpenAI's Codex for autonomous AI task ex*****on.
