HEAVEN GAINS A GENERAL AS ‘HERO OF FAITH’ TAKES FINAL BOW..tributes celebrate a legacy of prayer, leadership, and steadfast commitment to the gospel

A solemn yet triumphant atmosphere filled the Uyo Township Stadium on Friday, April 10, 2026, as thousands gathered to honour and bid farewell to Apostle Elisha Thompson Eduok, one of the most respected spiritual leaders in The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN), Akwa Ibom State Territory, whose transition at the age of 80 marked the closing of a remarkable chapter in the church's ministerial history.

The late cleric, widely celebrated as a "Hero of Faith," was laid to rest after decades of unwavering service marked by prayer, leadership, discipline, and deep spiritual devotion. His funeral drew an extraordinary assembly of Superintendents, Apostles, Pastors, church elders, family members, and faithful from across and beyond the Territory, all gathered to honour a life many described as fully poured out in service to God and humanity.

Officiating the service, the National Vice President and Territorial Chairman, Apostle E. U. Johnson, delivered a heartfelt message that reflected both reverence and gratitude, describing the deceased as a man of rare consistency, humility, and spiritual depth. He noted that Apostle Eduok's life was a testament to endurance in ministry and urged believers to emulate his steadfast commitment to the gospel.

Born on May 25, 1946, Apostle Eduok's journey into ministry was shaped by humble beginnings and an uncommon sense of divine calling. Beginning life as a tailor, he later embraced theological training and responded fully to the call into pastoral ministry. His early life of discipline and hard work became the foundation for a ministry that would span decades and touch countless lives.

Ordained in 1975, he served faithfully across several districts and areas including Ikot Ekpene, Etinan, Afaha Eket, and Uyo, where his influence contributed significantly to church growth, revival, and structural strengthening. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Field Superintendent of Uyo Field, a position he held with distinction until his retirement in 2023 after a lifetime of dedicated service.

Throughout his ministry, Apostle Eduok was known for a strong emphasis on prayer, holiness, evangelism, and spiritual discipline. His services were often marked by testimonies of healing, deliverance, and restoration, earning him deep respect among both colleagues and congregants. Beyond the pulpit, he was remembered as a father figure to many, noted for his humility, generosity, and accessible leadership style that bridged generations and backgrounds.

Following the funeral service, his remains were conveyed to his hometown, Okwo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, where he was laid to rest amid hymns, prayers, and solemn Christian rites. For many in attendance, the moment was not only a farewell but a celebration of a life considered complete in purpose and impactful in legacy.

As tributes continue to pour in from within and outside Nigeria, the enduring message remains that Apostle Eduok lived a life of visible faith, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire ministers and believers alike. Though he has taken his final bow, his influence, teachings, and spiritual imprint are expected to resonate for generations within the church and beyond.

GREATER LOVE IN ACTION: TACN UYO FIELD LAUNCHES WELFARE EMPOWERMENT SCHEME AT EASTER CONVENTION

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and practical Christianity, The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN), Uyo Field, today, April 5, 2026, officially kick-started its field-wide welfare and empowerment scheme during the ongoing Easter Convention held at the Uyo Area Headquarters, 69 Oron Road, Uyo.

The initiative, which is aimed at uplifting indigent members of the church, marks a significant step in translating the convention's theme, "Greater Love," into tangible impact. The programme witnessed the disbursement of financial support to sixteen carefully selected beneficiaries, all drawn from all the 16 component Districts within the Major Center.

Speaking on the exercise, the Chairman of the Welfare Committee, Eld. Mark Esset, emphasized that the selection process was strictly guided by need and not influenced by favouritism. According to him, the objective of the scheme is to deliberately reach "the poorest of the poor" within the fold, ensuring that the church's love is both felt and experienced.

The event, which drew thousands of members, was graced by the Field Superintendent alongside an array of Apostles and ministers, further underscoring the importance of the initiative within the Field's agenda.

In an emotional highlight of the programme, one of the beneficiaries (an orphan) was awarded a scholarship in addition to the financial support, drawing visible reactions from the congregation. Many of the recipients were overwhelmed with gratitude, as the gesture brought relief and renewed hope.

Observers described the atmosphere as deeply moving, with the church witnessing firsthand the power of collective care and responsibility.

To ensure broad impact and inclusivity, the Field leadership disclosed that the welfare scheme will be rotated across all the major centres within the Field, allowing more members in need to benefit in subsequent phases within the year.

As the Easter Convention ends, the launch of this empowerment programme stands as a defining moment, one that not only reinforces the message of Greater Love but also sets a practical standard for faith in action.

APOSTOLIC VISITATION COMPLETES ROUND OF FIELDS IN AKWA IBOM STATE TERRITORY..as Territorial Prophetic Tour Ends with Renewed Spiritual Momentum

The Akwa Ibom State Territory of The Apostolic Church Nigeria has successfully concluded its Territorial Prophetic Tour, a spiritually significant apostolic visitation that covered the various Fields in the Territory and brought ministers and members into moments of renewed spiritual reflection and commitment.

The tour was led by the Territorial Chairman and National Vice President, Apostle E. U. Johnson, who moved across the Fields alongside members of the Territorial delegation as part of the prophetic directive to the leadership of the Territory.
It also formed part of the leadership’s ongoing pastoral oversight and engagement with the church across the Territory.

The prophetic visitation commenced with opening services hosted by Ikot Abasi Field and Etinan Field, where ministers, church workers, and members gathered to receive the apostolic ministry of the Word. The tour subsequently continued to Ikono Field and Ikot Ekpene Field, before proceeding to Eket Field and Oron Field. The exercise eventually reached its climax with the concluding visitations to Itu Field and Uyo Field, marking the final phase of the spiritually enriching engagement.

Throughout the tour, Apostle Johnson ministered on the theme "The Will of God," emphasizing the need for believers to understand and align their lives with God’s divine purpose. Drawing from several scriptural references, he explained that the will of God encompasses His sovereign plan, moral instructions, and personal guidance for His people. According to him, discovering and doing the will of God remains central to the Christian life and to the effectiveness of the church in fulfilling its spiritual mandate.

He further encouraged ministers and members to cultivate a deeper relationship with God through prayer, the study of the Scriptures, and obedience to divine instruction. He stressed that when believers walk in alignment with the will of God, they experience spiritual growth, divine guidance, and fulfillment in God’s purpose.

Each service followed the established order of the prophetic tour, featuring worship, prayers, exhortations, and prophetic ministrations for ministers and members. In addition to the spiritual emphasis of the meetings, administrative remarks and announcements were also made during the services as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity, coordination, and commitment within the Territory.

The visitations across the Fields were hosted by the respective Field Superintendents together with their Field Councils, who worked with ministers and members of their respective Fields to ensure the smooth conduct of the services. The meetings recorded impressive attendance as members gathered in large numbers to receive the ministry and encouragement brought by the Territorial leadership.

The tour reached its climax on Friday, March 13, 2026, with the concluding visitations to Itu Field and Uyo Field. The Territorial delegation was warmly received by the Field Superintendents and their respective Field Councils as ministers, officers, and members assembled in appreciable numbers for the final phase of the apostolic engagement.

With the successful completion of the tour, many ministers and members expressed gratitude to God for what has been widely described as a spiritually refreshing and strengthening exercise for the Territory. The prophetic visitation has further reinforced the collective resolve of the church across the Akwa Ibom State Territory to remain steadfast in prayer, faithful in service, and committed to fulfilling the will and purpose of God.

TERRITORIAL PROPHETIC TOUR MOVES TO EKET AND ORON FIELDS..Apostle Johnson Calls Believers to Align with God’s Divine Purpose
The ongoing Territorial Prophetic Tour of the Akwa Ibom State Territory progressed on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, as the Territorial Chairman and National Vice President, Apostle E. U. Johnson, led the apostolic delegation on visitations to Eket Field and Oron Field.
The day's activities commenced in Eket Field, where ministers, church workers, and members gathered to receive the Territorial leadership. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Field Superintendent alongside the Field Council, who coordinated the arrangements for the service.
During the gathering, Apostle Johnson continued his teaching on the theme “The Will of God,” urging believers to consciously align their lives with God’s divine purpose. Drawing from the Scriptures, he emphasized that understanding and doing the will of God remains central to the Christian life, noting that believers must continually seek God's direction through prayer, the study of the Word, and obedience to His commands.
He further stressed that while many people struggle to understand God's will, the Scriptures clearly reveal God’s expectations for His people, particularly in areas of righteous living, spiritual devotion, and faithful service. According to him, a life surrendered to God’s will leads to divine guidance, spiritual maturity, and fulfillment in God's purpose.
From Eket, the delegation proceeded to Oron Field, where another service was held with members from various assemblies within the Field in attendance. The meeting followed the established order of the Territorial Prophetic Tour, featuring worship, prayers, exhortations, and prophetic ministrations for ministers and members.
As in previous Fields visited during the tour, brief administrative remarks were also made to encourage unity, commitment, and effective participation in the ongoing work of the church within the Territory.
The visitations to Eket and Oron Fields marked the third phase of the Territorial Prophetic Tour, which has continued to strengthen spiritual consciousness and ministerial alignment across the Territory.
The tour is expected to conclude on Friday, March 13, 2026, as Itu Field and Uyo Field host the final leg of the apostolic visitation.
