During the divine service on Sunday, 22 February, conducted by Shepherd Colin Esau, Sister Risa Bennett was officially assigned as the Young People Leader for the Silvertown congregation. We wish her God’s blessing in her task.

Following the divine service, the senior members were invited to a time of fellowship in the basement. The gathering, kindly sponsored by the late Priest Arthur Minnaar, was enjoyed by many.

DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.

And yet he said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (Romans 1: 16). This was the basis for a divine service in Roissy-en-France

People don’t talk about their faith for fear of being marginalised or rejected. People are afraid of being laughed at because the gospel is seen as an outdated doctrine for the uneducated. They are ashamed of all the mistakes that Christians have made.

“If we are asked to defend our values, then we do not need to be ashamed of the gospel,” the Chief Apostle emphasised, saying that no one should be ashamed to speak out and say, “No, I believe in Christian values, I believe in the commandments, I believe in Christ.”
“The most extreme, the most idiotic, the most far-fetched ideas” are being promoted and aired today and demand respect. “Why should Christians remain silent? There is no reason for this. Why should we be ashamed of the gospel, of defending Christian values?”

When it came to fostering ecumenical dialogue, he was a trailblazer in the New Apostolic Church. In a ceremony, the retired Bishop Peter Johanning received an official farewell for his work on the Church’s ecumenical committees.

INTERCESSION FOR THE LIVING AND THE DEAD

But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord provide atonement for everyone who prepare his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he is not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.” And the Lord listened to Hezekiah and healed the people.
2 Chronicles 30: 18b–20

God turns pain into purpose.

The seasons that break you often become the soil where something stronger grows. What feels like a setback can become preparation. What feels like loss can become clarity. What feels like suffering can become strength.

In Romans 8:28, we’re reminded that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” Not that all things are good—but that He can redeem all things.

Think of Joseph, betrayed and imprisoned, yet positioned to save nations. Or Job, who endured unimaginable loss and still encountered deeper restoration. Their pain was real—but it wasn’t wasted.

If you’re in a hard place right now, this isn’t the end of your story. The pressure may be shaping you. The delay may be directing you. The heartbreak may be building compassion in you that someone else will one day desperately need.

Hold on. Healing and purpose often arrive wrapped in the same tria.
