5th Sunday In Ordinary Time | 8th Feb, 2026.

REFLECTION

One thing that salt and light have in common is that they both make a difference wherever they are. Jesus is so definite in what his followers should be. You are the salt of the earth, you are the light of the world, says he. Christians are not called to blend into the world. Rather, our Christianity must permeate the world with our values, good works and example of love. Isaiah in our first reading points out the ways that we can be salt and light today. The corporal works of mercy: feed the hungry, provide shelter for the homeless, clothe the naked, be there for your family, and avoid selfishness, arrogance and greed. With these qualities, we must strive to make a positive difference in the world by our very lives and through the church.

Solemnity of the Most Holy Body Of Christ(Corpus Christi) | 22nd June, 2025.

Reflection:
The first reading and the gospel provide us with symbols that point to the reality of what we celebrate today - the body and blood of Jesus Christ(corpus et sanguinis Christi). The second reading refers to the tradition about the Eucharist which Paul recieved. But can we pause for a moment to meditate 0n the depth of the mystery of the Eucharist. That Jesus left himself for us in the Eucharist shows his tremendous love for us. That we eat the body and blood of Jesus is a clear sign that we have become members of his body. This implies that we can no longer lead our lives as if we own ourselves. We are also called to share our belongings, our talents, ourselves with our brothers and sisters. May the power of the Eucharist guide our steps. Amen.

PENTECOST SUNDAY | 8th June, 2025.

REFLECTION
At Pentecost, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and Mary, giving birth to the church that courageously bears witness to the risen Lord, Jesus’ promise of sending an Advocate to guide his disciples is fulfilled.

The Holy Spirit is sent for a purpose… to remind the disciples of the teachings of Jesus and to instruct them further; to invest the apostles with the authority to forgive sins; to build up the faith and unity of the Christian community through various gifts of the spirit.

Today, there is a major renewal of interest in the Holy Spirit and spiritual charisms. Unfortunately, however, many ‘gifts of the spirit’ are restricted to spectacular, extraordinary and momentary phenomena which often become a cause of rivalry, conflict and division. Charisms that build up faith and unity in the Christian community, and lead to greater understanding, forgiveness and service, are true signs of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Easter Sunday(Solemnity) | 20th April, 2025.
The Resurrection of the Lord

Reflection:
On being alerted by Mary Magdalene, Peter and John run to the Lord’s tomb to see if the body had been stolen by someone-a hypothesis that was ruled out by what they saw there. They re-read the event in a new way, in the light of Scripture.
The liturgical assembly on Easter day exults in realizing all the hopes of the messianic people of God-the hope of liberation, of entering into the Promised Land, of restoration of justice, of new earth and new heavens. The faithful of Christ have entered into this new reality and live and move in its light. The real newness is Christ who came into the world lived with humans, died and rose again and is ever present.
It is in him that the interior human being is renewed every day (2cor 4:6). The exterior man, the old reality, needs to be broken to open up the way for the birth of the new human reality, the fruit of redemption in Christ. “To put on Christ” is one of the many expressions coined by St Paul to present this mysterious reality of grace. To put on Christ means to enter into him and to live in him so that our life becomes hidden in him and with him in God. Thus, “anyone who is in Christ is a new creature. The Christian is dead to sin and risen with Christ to new life.

Happy Easter!
Alleluia!
