Sermon by Pastor Beshi
Topic: Courageous Brethren Do Not Stumble
Text: Joshua 1:1–7; Psalm 46:1
Key Verse: "Be strong and of a good courage..." — Joshua 1:6
Introduction
Courage is the ability to stand firm in faith despite fear, opposition, or difficult circumstances. God expects His children to be courageous because He is always with them. A courageous believer does not give up, stumble, or turn back when challenges arise.
Benefits of Being Courageous
1. Divine Presence and Help
God promises His presence to those who trust and obey Him.
Joshua was encouraged because God assured him of His continual presence.
Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
When God is with us, fear loses its power.
2. Gaining Victory Over Bad Circumstances
Courage enables believers to face trials with confidence.
David defeated Goliath because he trusted God.
Challenges become testimonies when faith overcomes fear.
Courageous Christians do not allow circumstances to determine their destiny.
3. Spiritual Growth and Maturity
Faith grows when we boldly trust God through difficult situations.
Every challenge overcome strengthens our spiritual life.
Mature believers are developed through courageous obedience and perseverance.
4. A Bold Witness for Christ
Courage helps believers openly proclaim the Gospel.
Paul declared in Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ..."
The world needs courageous Christians who will stand for truth and righteousness.
A bold witness brings souls into God's kingdom.
Application
1. Trust God in every situation.
2. Meditate on God's promises daily.
3. Refuse to be controlled by fear.
4. Pray for strength and boldness.
5. Stand firm in your faith and witness for Christ.
Conclusion
Courageous brethren do not stumble because they rely on God's presence, power, and promises. No matter the challenges before us, we can move forward confidently, knowing that God is our refuge and strength. Let us be strong, courageous, and unwavering in our walk with Christ.
Prayer Point:
Lord, fill me with courage to trust You, overcome every challenge, grow spiritually, and boldly witness for Christ in Jesus' name. Amen.
