WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7

BIBLE READING: EZEKIEL 9-10

THINGS TO NOTE: 9:4-6;
“… set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof…….. Slay utterly old and young, both maids and little children, and women, but come not near any man upon whom is the mark ….”.

If you are doing what is right, keep doing it eventhough you are alone or in the minority. If you see that it seems to be better off for evil doers, don’t think you are wasting time doing the right.

This is because in the day that evil will befall evil doers, you will escape because of the mark of God upon you.

Also, when sinners will be turned into hell fire, you will be saved.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6

BIBLE READING: EZEKIEL 7-8

THINGS TO NOTE: 8:5-18;
Idol worship in the house called by the name of God Almighty is even more rampant in our generation than it was among the children of Israel of old.

This happens in many forms:

1️⃣ Some church founders practise occult in the guise of church. Ignorant people go there and get enslaved.

Therefore you have to be careful of where you go for prayers.

2️⃣ There are some church denominations whose doctrines are the doctrines of satan e.g. keeping of images and bowing down to them (spiritism), and the use of mystical books and other materials.

3️⃣ There are those who want to turn the church with good foundation to a place of evil practice such as witchcraft and other abominable practices.

As a church pastor, a leader or any other member worshipping God in spirit and in truth, you should pray effectively against such thing happening in your church.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 5

BIBLE READING: EZEKIEL 5-6

THINGS TO NOTE: 5:13;
“Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them …..” God was not happy with the children of Israel because of their disobedience to Gods commandments.

God was always speaking against them and promised to punish them. What this tells us is that, as the Psalmist puts it, God is angry with the wicked everyday.

Since you know that God is always angry with sinners, run away from sin so that you are not an enemy of God. Divine security is not there for sinners and they are living at the mercy of satan.

Choose the righteous path so that God will be happy with you and bless you.

‎SUNDAY SCHOOL: LESSON FIVE
‎
‎TOPIC: DIVINE HONOUR FOR THOSE WHO SERVE THE LORD
‎
‎TEXT: John 12:26
‎
‎MEMORY VERSE: Romans 2:10
‎
‎INTRODUCTION:
‎
‎Jesus gave a wonderful promise to everyone who faithfully serves Him: "If any man serve Me, My Father honour." Although Jesus did not specify how God would honour His servants, we know that God is able to bless and honour His people in many ways-both spiritually and physically.
‎
‎
‎Many believers who faithfully serve Christ are blessed with spiritual gifts, wisdom, favour, strength, and opportunities to make a positive impact for His kingdom. God also provides for their needs according to His will.
‎
‎
‎Therefore, continue serving the Lord faithfully and wholeheartedly. Do not allow criticism, discouragement, or opposition to weaken your commitment to God's work.
‎
‎
‎Whether you serve in full-time ministry or in any other area of service in the church, remain faithful. At the right time, God will reward and honour everyone who serves Him sincerely.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4

BIBLE READING: EZEKIEL 3-4

THINGS TO NOTE: 3:17-21;
Four things to note here:
(i) As a born again Christian, you are a watchman and your duty is to give people warning from God, keeping quiet is putting the people you are supposed to inform and yourself in danger.

(2) You are to preach to both sinners and the righteous alike. To the sinners, it is the message of repentance from sins. To the righteous, it is to guard against backsliding and to uphold their integrity.

(3) God is good and has promised to forgive a sinner that repents so that he may live. Are you living in sin? Accept this offer and confess and forsake it. Note that a sinner is spiritually dead.

(4) The worst thing to happen is when the righteous goes back to sin because none of his righteousness will be remembered for him.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3

BIBLE READING: EZEKIEL 1-2

THINGS TO NOTE: 2:3-7;
While in the land of captivity (Babylon), God sent prophet Ezekiel, who was also among the captives, to speak to the children of Israel. This is because God loved them and would not want them to be swallowed up by the idolatrous practice of Babylon.

My brother/sister, that the word of God comes to you is that God loves you and does not want you to perish; it is not to deny you your freedom, neither is it to prevent you from enjoying life.

Rather it is to put you on the right track for your good. So stop quarrelling with or hating the preacher of righteousness. And, you a messenger of God, who goes to preach the word of God to people, know that you will meet rebellious people.

The word of God is that we should not be afraid of them, neither should we be afraid of their words. Ask the spirit of God to give you boldness and utterance.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2

BIBLE READING: JEREMIAH 52

THINGS TO NOTE: Verse 3-30.
God, through His prophets, had warned the children of Israel and Judah of the doom that would befall them as a result of their backsliding.

Many did not believe. It might be because many years passed by and nothing happened, or as some people say in our generation that God would not be so hard hearted as to punish people in hell fire.

But eventually it happened as God had said. People were tortured and killed mercilessly. Cities, houses and the great house of God were all destroyed. The whole Israel and Judah became desolate.

Today God is warning us to return to Him from evil way because He has appointed a day He will judge the world through the one He has ordained for that purpose.

There will be no mercy for sinners on that day. Repent of your sins today; do not perish through unbelief.
