STRUCTURES AND SYSTEMS
1 KINGS 18:33,38 KJV
And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. [38] Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
God is a God of order (1 Cor. 14:33). Where there is disorder and chaos, things do not grow. Satan thrives in disorder. He caused the earth God created to become structureless - without form. But after God said, “Let there be light”, God set things in order, first by arranging night and day. The structure was the sun, moon, stars. The system was the consistent, regular, predictable pattern in which they functioned - day and night (Gen. 1:1-5,14-18).
Where there is disorder and lack of planning, there is waste of resources and God does not bless waste. Jesus asked the disciples to set order among the 5,000 before they could be fed; to make them sit in groups of 50s and 100s. That was structure. He then broke the bread and fish, and gave to the disciples who distributed to the people. That was the system. Because of this order, the food was enough and even remained 12 baskets full (Mk. 6:39-44). When there is order, structure, systems, God sends abundant supplies.
God made our human body to have systems - the digestive system, respiratory system; the circulatory, excretory, urinary, reproductive, and nervous systems. All of them function without your help, without your thinking and even when you’re sleeping. When structure and systems are working in your business, (for example), you can be away from it and it will still be working.
Why many people fail is because they lack structure and systems in their personal lives, their jobs, their homes, their businesses. There must be predictable daily, weekly, monthly, yearly systems that must function in your life, in your home, etc.
-In your home, in your workspace or department, who does what and when?
-How regular is a thing to be done?
-Is there order in your finances?
-Do you have a system of percent-aging your personal, family and business income? If you do not, you will experience waste and God would stop sending abundant resources very soon.
A church that does not work on its structure and systems to function well will lose its members, and also, God would not send souls there because He does not like waste.
Before God sent the fire, Elijah had to rebuild the broken down altar and set the wood in order on top of it. Receive grace to put your life, home, business, etc in order in Jesus’ name.
ACTION POINTS
-Begin to set structures and systems - a pattern and rhythm to how things are done in your life, home, work, business.
-Set daily goals and targets for yourself. Be organized and disciplined.
PRAYER POINTS
-Lord, I ask for grace to be organized, and to have structures and systems in my life, marriage and work that really works in Jesus' name.
-As these work, I declare that my life is advancing and increasing in Jesus’ name.
NUGGET
When there is order, structure, systems, God sends abundant supplies.
