TRAINING OF SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT

Spiritual maturity requires learning how to accurately discern the difference between the Holy Spirit, the flesh, emotions, and mental noise.

Focus Scripture: Hebrews 5:14 (NKJV) "But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

Supporting Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 2:14–15 (NKJV): "…he who is spiritual judges all things…"

1 John 4:1 (NKJV): "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits…"

Galatians 5:17 (NKJV): "For the flesh lusts against the Spirit…"

James 3:17 (NKJV): "…the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable…"

Philippians 1:9–10 (NKJV): "…that you may approve the things that are excellent…"

REVELATION LAYER — The Need for Discernment
As spiritual sensitivity increases, one major challenge emerges: correctly interpreting what you are sensing. Not every thought, feeling, impression, excitement, or inward movement comes from the Holy Spirit. This is why discernment becomes essential.

1. Discernment is a Trained Spiritual Ability

Hebrews says: "their senses exercised…" Discernment develops through consistent spiritual engagement, prayer, the Word, obedience, experience, and attentiveness. It is trained over time.

2. Many Things Can Speak Within You

Internally you may experience: the Holy Spirit, your emotions, your desires, your fears, your imagination, mental noise, fleshly impulses. Without discernment, confusion increases.

3. The Holy Spirit Usually Produces Certain Characteristics

The leading of the Spirit often carries: peace, purity, clarity. Fleshly impulses often carry: pressure, confusion, emotional urgency, spiritual weight, inward steadiness, pride, selfishness, instability.

4. Discernment Requires Slowness and Spiritual Health

Emotionally rushed people often misinterpret things. Spiritually healthy discernment requires inward calmness, scriptural grounding, patience, and attentiveness. This is why stillness matters.

5. Tongues Helps Strengthen Spiritual Perception

Praying in tongues consistently strengthens the inward man, sharpens spiritual awareness, and quiets excessive mental dominance. As your spirit grows stronger, discernment becomes clearer.

DISCERNMENT EXERCISE
Throughout today ask: "What is influencing me right now?" Is it: peace? pressure? fear? pride? spiritual clarity? emotional reaction? Learn to slow down internally before reacting.

SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Do I confuse emotions with spiritual leading?

Am I easily pressured internally?

Do I react impulsively or discern carefully?

Is my spirit becoming more discerning?

What area of discernment do I most need to grow in?

PRAYERS:
Prayer for Accurate Discernment: “Holy Spirit, sharpen my spiritual perception and discernment.”

Prayer Against Confusion: “I reject confusion, deception, and fleshly impulsiveness.”

Prayer for Spiritual Clarity: “Teach me to distinguish Your voice from emotional and fleshly influences.”

Prayer for Maturity: “Grow me into spiritual accuracy and wisdom.”

DECLARATION— Rewiring Language
Declare aloud: “My spiritual discernment is increasing. I recognize the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit accurately. Confusion and fleshly impulsiveness lose their influence over me. My inward perception becomes sharper daily. I walk in spiritual wisdom and clarity.”

Spiritual maturity is not emotional excitement only. It is accurate spiritual perception. Learn to: slow down, discern carefully, test inward movements, remain scripturally grounded. Because strong discernment protects spiritual growth and accuracy.

COVENANT FASTING AND PRAYER SERVICE

The Word by Rev. Friday Ubom

TOPIC: ASSURANCE OF GOD’S VICTORY OVER ENEMIES

TEXT: Isaiah 41:10-13

Enemies are haters who dislike one’s progress and advancement in life. They wish one bad and wants them to fall and fail.

The worse kind of enemies are those who are our friends. They can also be members of one’s household.

They are usually against goodnews, manifestation of one’s dream, vision or prophecy, open doors and ready to mock. (1 Samuel 18:3-8, Matthew 2:3-4, Genesis 37:18, 1 Corinthians 16:9, Micah 7:6, Luke 8:5)

The word, ”assurance” means being certain and confident about something without doubt or the guarantee or promise that removes fear and doubt.

No enemy, problem or power is greater or stronger than God. If God is for you, victory is certain even before the battle begins.

We are assured of God’s victory for us because:
1. The battle belongs to Him. 2 Chronicles 20:14, 1 Samuel 17:47.

2. GOD promises to fight for you. Exodus 14:14.

3. No weapon devised against you shall succeed. Isaiah 54:17, Romans 8:31.

4. Jesus defeated the enemy. Colossians 2:14-15.

5. GOD gives us authority to overcome all. Luke 10:19, 1John 4:7

Therefore, Fear not for God is with you. Be not dismayed, for He is your God. Look not at the enemies because they shall be as nothing but look at God’s hand, because holds you and never drops what it holds.

Father, today we believe your word. We drop fear and take your hand. Strengthen us for what we can’t handle. Help us where we are helpless and Uphold us when falling, Amen.

3rd SUNDAY AFTER EASTER

Message by Revd Saviour Imukudo

Topic: The Secret Place

Text: Psalm 91:1 – "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

The Hebrew word for "secret place" is 'sēther' meaning a covering, hiding place, or shelter. It’s not a physical location, but a spiritual position of intimacy and protection with God.

The secret place represents:
1. Intimacy with God – It is where you know God personally. Moses spoke to God "face to face" in the tent of meeting, away from the crowd. (Ex. 33:11)

2. Divine Protection –It is where fear, plagues, and arrows can’t reach you.

3. Revelation & Direction – The secret place is where God speaks and we hear clearly (Matt. 6:6)

4. Refuge from Pressure – David called it a hiding place from trouble. When life gets noisy, the secret place is quiet (Psalm 32:7)

The Secret Place is not Mount Sinai, Jerusalem, cathedral or any church building. The secret place is in Christ(Col 3:3), your Heart (Corinthians 6:19) and in Worship and Prayer.

So the secret place is wherever God’s presence is made manifest to a hungry heart.

Christians Access the Secret Place by being Born Again, Cultivating Daily Communion, Shutting out Distractions, worshipping in Spirit and Truth, meditating on the Word, living a life of obedience and practicing stillness - (John 3:3; Dan 6:10; Matt 6:6; John 4:23-24; Ps 1:2-3; John 14:23; Ps 46:10)

The enemy can’t touch what’s hidden in God. But many Christians live in the outer court — saved, but exposed. God is calling us to dwell, not visit.

The secret place isn’t for pastors only. It’s for _"he that dwelleth"_ any believer who chooses intimacy over activity.
