What really is worship?
Is it just slow, melodious sounds that make us cry?
Is it the moment the music gets louder, our hands go up and we fall to our knees?
Is worship only what happens when the lights are dim and the room is filled with a beautiful sound?
Maybe we have been looking at worship from the wrong angle.
Worship is surrender.
It is the heart saying, āGod, even here, I choose You.ā
Even when life feels like a war.
Even when the answers are unclear.
Even when we are carrying questions we cannot explain.
We surrender.
And in that surrender, we make room for His light.
āYour word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.ā ā Psalm 119:105
God's light does more than illuminate a room. It brings clarity to confusion, direction to uncertainty and wisdom when we do not know which way to go.
This is why worship cannot end when the music stops.
At Victory Chapel, we are learning to worship beyond the session. To surrender in our decisions, our struggles, our ambitions, our relationships and our everyday lives.
Because true worship is not just about the songs we sing.
It is the life we lay down.
