DATE: WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 17TH 2025
TOPIC: BLESSED BEYOND DISABILITIES
MEMORISE: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11
BIBLE READING: 2 SAMUEL 9:6-8
6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
7 And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
MESSAGE:
Many children and teenagers with physical or intellectual disabilities have been side-lined in today's society. Most of them are not responsible for their conditions, yet they have been left to suffer neglect and pain. Mephibosheth was one of such people in the Bible. He was born as a regular child, but he fell from his nurse's hands, and his legs became disfigured. He was probably abandoned thereafter, but when King David asked if there was anyone who needed help from the lineage of Jonathan, his best friend, his name came up. l pray that people will recommend you for favours even when you are not present, in Jesus' name.
From the story of Mephibosheth, we can see that despite his physical limitations and the challenges he faced, he approached King David with humility and faith, seeking restoration and favour. He appealed for the king's mercy, and not only did he receive it, he also received abundant blessings and restoration beyond his imagination. My dear child, are you living with any form of disability, whether physically or intellectually? I want you to know that God has great plans for you, no matter the circumstances you are in or the limitations you are facing. Put your trust in Him completely.
KEY POINT::
Father, please remember me for good, in Jesus's name.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ISAIAH 25:1-28:13, GALATIANS 3:10-22
HYMN: 64 - WHEN UPON LIFE'S BILLOWS YOU ARE TEMPEST TOSSED
1 When upon life's billows you
are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged,
thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings,
name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what
the Lord hath done.
Chorus
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your blessings,
see what God hath done;
Count your blessings,
name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev'ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
3 When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised
you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4 So, amid the conflict,
whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.
