GUARD AGAINST THE FLESH

Galatians 5:24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (NIV)

The flesh has its own passions and desires which are contrary to those of the Spirit. Galatians 5:17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Though you are born again if you don't guard against the flesh you would find yourself gratifying the desires and passions of the flesh. The body (the flesh) you live in is natural to this world, this world is its natural domain. But your spirit is from above. Your body naturally lives and relates with this world but you will have to consciously and deliberately give attention to your spirit in order to express its nature, desire and passion through your body.

You have to deliberately guard your spirit and life against the flesh and it expressions. How do you guard against the flesh? The Bible says walk by the Spirit. Galatians 5:16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

How do you walk by the Spirit? You walk by the Spirit by walking in the Word. Walking or living in the light of God's truth is walking by the Spirit. When you walk by the truth you are walking in the light and realities of the Spirit of God. And that's the answer to guarding against the flesh. When you walk by the Spirit you walk in the opposite direction of the flesh, and it makes the flesh powerless to control you. So decide to walk by the Spirit always.

CONFESSION

I have crucified the flesh and its passions and desires, therefore I refuse to be controlled by the flesh. I walk consistently by the Spirit and not walk in the direction of the flesh. I give full expression to the will and desire of the Spirit, in Jesus' Name. Amen!

NOT ON YOUR MERIT

Ephesians 2:4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions —it is by grace you have been saved. (NIV)

One of the reasons we struggle to walk in God's perfect will is reliance on our own works and merit. Every man was born a sinner. Through the transgression of Adam sin passed unto every man. Every one sinned and fell short of the glory of God. Some might boast about their moral uprightness. Moral uprightness is not bad, but it is not righteousness. Moral uprightness is living up to the moral standard of a society. Righteousness is living in the standard that grace has brought us into.

People fail in their walk with God because of reliance on merit; some hold onto their religious efforts and moral fit. But every man has deficiency without Christ. Christ alone is man's sufficiency. Amid all our short comings the Bible says "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions —it is by grace you have been saved."

Three very important things we should hold onto; His great love, His rich mercy and His abundant grace. These are what produced salvation and blessing for us. It is by Grace we have been saved through faith, it is not by our works. It therefore means that it is through these three (His love, mercy and grace) that we can continue walking in God's will and blessings.

Look away from your merit. Maybe you need a change in your life, a change in your finances, peace in your marriage, promotion at work, look away from your merit. It won't happen based on your merit but on His grace.
Life is meant to be lived in the light of His love, in the riches of His mercy and His abundant grace. Praise God!

CONFESSION

I have been saved and blessed not on my own merit but because of His great, rich mercy and abundant grace. I live life as a dispenser of the same; I dispense God's love, mercy and grace to my world, causing the will of the Father to prosper through me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

CALLED TO GLORY AND EXCELLENCE

2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, (ESV)

It has always been the plan and dream of God to fill man with His glory. He had always wanted man to carry and dispense His beauty. The first man sinned and fell short of the glory. But God restored man to glory through Christ.
Romans 3:23-24 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

In the days of Moses God gave the Israelites the law which made them different from the rest of the world. God wanted a people that would bear His glory; through the law He offered the Israelites the opportunity to experience His glory if they would obey the law. For the law came with glory.
2 Corinthians 3:7-8 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?

We are those who have received the ministry of the Spirit. And it came with the highest glory. The Holy Spirit is the Person of glory. Having received Him we are all-glorious. God called us into this glory and excellence. We increase in this glory and excellence through our knowledge of Him. 2 Peter 1:3 ...through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.

CONFESSION

God in His infinite love for me has called me into His own glory and excellence. My life is one of beauty, perfection, Grace, favour and unending glory. My life is an expression of God's manifold Grace, excellence, goodness, virtue and glory, Amen Hallelujah!

LIVE IN HIS REST

Hebrews 4:10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. (NIV)

You entered God's rest when you got born again and received the Holy Spirit. After God finished the creation of the world He rested. He hadn't been doing anything actively. His Spirit does everything as required. It was by the Holy Spirit Jesus did the Father's work in the earth, and it was the same Holy Spirit who raised Him from the dead.

When you received the Holy Spirit He brought you into God's rest. You ceased from your own work, yes if you actually surrendered your life to the Holy Spirit completely then whatever He does through you is the Father's work not yours. He takes your job, business, career and your every endeavour as God's work. Everything you are about is God's business. You ceased from your own work; you are in His rest now. That's why Jesus came; to give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Jesus brought you into God's rest where the Holy Spirit carry out God's work and will through you. Your part is to commune with the Holy Spirit consistently. Your fellowship with the Holy Spirit defines your rest and destiny in Christ.

Isaiah 28:11-12 Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people, to whom he said, "This is the resting place, let the weary rest"; and, "This is the place of repose" — but they would not listen.

The foreign lips and strange tongues referred in this above scripture is actually praying in the Holy Spirit (praying tongues). Praying in tongues is actually an active rest. It is enjoying and participating in God's rest. When you pray in tongues your spirit prays, the Holy Spirit is in charge of what you do and the results it produce. You function from rest when you pray in tongues. Consciously live in God's rest this way.

CONFESSION

The Spirit of God has brought me into the rest of God. Where I now live and function. Having been born into Christ I have been born into rest. I function from God's place of rest producing God's kind of results in my life, finances, business, marriage, ministry and family, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

BIND IT!

Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (NIV)

The keys of the Kingdom of heaven is not the same as the keys to the Kingdom of heaven. The keys to the Kingdom of heaven would mean keys that open doors in heaven. But what the Bible tells us is "the keys of the Kingdom of heaven", which means keys that are of heaven origin. In the context of this verse the keys means authority. So what Jesus said in essence is "I will give you the authority of the Kingdom of heaven." And He has long done it.

As a child of God you have heaven's authority. You can function in the authority of the Kingdom of heaven. In fact you are required to. You are on earth as a representative of the Kingdom of heaven, and it is your duty and privilege to exercise the authority of the Kingdom of heaven. You are given a responsibility to bind and to loose. Until you do so it cannot be done in heaven. The only legal way for heaven to bind or loose on earth is through the church.

If you find demonic activities around your environment, even in your city or nation bind it; bind the activities of demons.
To bind in this sense actually means to prohibit, forbid, or bar. Prohibit the activity of devil around your vicinity; bar him completely.

Don't be among those complain about what the devil is doing or among those who arrogate power to the devil. Bind his activity, cast him out! That's what the Bible says. Forbid the things, circumstances and activities that does not line up with God's will for your life. Don't negotiate.
The Bible says "...whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

PRAYER

I bind every demonic activity in my neighborhood, city and nation. I prohibit and bar the devil, his demons and their activities anywhere near my life, business, marriage, children, spouse, family, job, ministry, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

SEE POSSIBILITY

Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (KJV)

People only become hopeless when they can't see beyond where they are. When one is unable to see beyond his seemingly insurmountable circumstances he loses hope. But Jesus said "nothing shall be impossible unto you." If this is true, and of course it is, why not see possibility? There is so much you can do and be in this life. See possibility!

The problem is not the challenges or hardships but what you are seeing. If you see a way out of the hardship that's what it would turn out to be. It's not so much about what is not working but your perception about it.
Jesus said in Matthew 17:20 "...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

It's not about the mountain it is about what you see or say of the mountain. Some see impossibility. But what do you see? You don't see things and relate with them the way they are physically. You won't be able to change anything that way. See with the eyes of faith; see possibility!

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
By sight it might not seem there is hope. It might not seem there is changes. By sight there may not be hope of getting the money. But by faith nothing shall be impossible unto you. See with the eyes of faith. See hope! See possibility!

CONFESSION

Through my study of the Word of God my faith is continually being built strong. And the eyes of my understanding is enlightened. I see clearly with the eyes of faith. I see possibility, I see hope, I see victory, I see prosperity and great positive changes in my life, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

YOUR LIFE IS YOUR MAKING

Matthew 12:33 "Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. (NIV)

First of all, it is important that you realize that every man is a tree and the fruits of his life depends on him. The Bible says "make a tree good and its fruit will be good." You can make your life what you want. You are more in charge of your life than God is. You may not hear this anywhere else.
Everyone blames everyone else for their failures and predicaments but themselves. Some even blame God. But He gave you life to live; rule, control and take decision. You are in charge of your life than God is. God doesn't run our life as some think. He gave us His Word by which we should run our own lives. Your life is actually your making. God gave you His manual (His word) to run your life, whether or not you adhere to it is your choice. He doesn't force anyone to live by His Word, He only inspires and persuades us to.

One of the reasons failures keep failing is that they apportion blame to others for their failing. They think because so and so didn't contribute positively to their lives that's why they failed. Wake up brother! God made you master of your own life. You are responsible to make your life. The outcome of your life is your making whether or not you know it. The decisions you didn't take are still decisions taken; indecision is a decision.
Stop looking around for who or what to blame for the things that aren't working in your life. Make your life as you want it and its fruit will be just that.

PRAYER

Father thank You for making me master of my life, and given me your Word as an instrument and manual to navigate through life. Through the wisdom of your Word I take charge of my life and make it good, consequently bringing forth good fruits, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
