Theme: "The Nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit to the Church"
Texts: Gen.1:1-2
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. The Holy Spirit existed from the beginning of the world;He dwelt upon the waters and perfected works of creation. He sealed the spoken words of God (Rom.8:9). Any one without the Holy Spirit is not of Christ. The Holy Spirit gives the identity of sonship in Christ.
How then can one receive the Holy Spirit?
1. Through Prayers
2. By Studying the Bible
3. Through humility and total obedience to God.
In today's church, it is observable that the Holy Spirit has begun to exit the church and that is why we are called back today, to seek the Holy Spirit. When you do not have the Holy Spirit, you would lose the signal of The Rapture.
It is pitiable that Christians, no longer pray, fast and devote themselves to receive the Holy Spirit.
This is the greatest and most essential weapon of a Christian, even unto our dreams. Who desires the Holy Spirit? Let Him pray.
Christ was a mysterious man, who moved in mysterious ways. We can be like Christ if we seek to possess His spirit and allow it take over our lives. The Holy Spirit has various works/benefits:
1. Sanctification: He has the sanctification property to mold you to the likeness of God and after that He sets you apart to do God's works
2. Powers: This is given to them that believe. When the Holy Spirit is upon you, your powers become a covering, even to your family. The influence of the Holy Spirit is powerful than every evil and darkness. Gideon was only able to destroy the deities of his father's house.(Judges. 6:34)
3. Teachings: The Holy Spirit is a teacher. He teaches you to maintain the doctrines of God. When you have the Holy Spirit, he will direct you and teach you how to worship God. He disciplines a man and puts him in the right path.
Let the Christians return to God wholeheartedly, pray and seek the Holy Spirit because he is a
