By: Elder Ernest Walter
Text: Ezekiel 37:1-10, Ezekiel 37:7, 2 Kings 5:1-4

Hope is the confidence that God is still able to change every impossible situation. No matter how dry, dead, painful, or delayed a situation may look, God has not forgotten His people. Many people today have lost hope because of sickness, disappointment, delay, failure, hardship, or unanswered prayers. But this sermon reminds us that God specializes in restoring hopeless situations.

In Ezekiel 37, God showed Prophet Ezekiel a valley full of dry bones. Those bones were not just dry; they were completely lifeless and scattered. Humanly speaking, there was no possibility of restoration. Yet God asked Ezekiel, “Can these bones live?” This teaches us that God can still bring life into dead situations.

1. Vision

Vision is the ability to see beyond the present condition. Before God performs a miracle, He opens the eyes of His servants to see possibilities.

Ezekiel saw dry bones, but God saw a mighty army. Many people only see problems, but faith sees restoration. When hope is lost, vision dies. That is why the enemy tries to fill people with fear and discouragement.

Joseph had a vision before becoming a ruler.

David saw himself defeating Goliath before the battle began.

The little maid in 2 Kings 5 believed Naaman could be healed despite his leprosy.

God wants His children to look beyond their present suffering and trust His promises.

Lessons About Vision

Vision gives strength during difficult times.

Vision keeps faith alive.

Vision helps believers focus on God instead of problems.

Without vision, people easily surrender to fear and hopelessness.

2. Command

After giving Ezekiel the vision, God commanded him to prophesy to the dry bones.

God’s word carries power. Miracles happen when God’s instructions are obeyed. Ezekiel did not argue with God because the bones looked impossible. He obeyed and spoke as commanded.

Many blessings are connected to obedience.

Noah obeyed and survived the flood.

Moses obeyed and the Red Sea parted.

Naaman obeyed Elisha’s instruction and received healing after dipping seven times in River Jordan.

Sometimes God’s instructions may not make sense to human understanding, but obedience brings results.

Lessons About Command

God’s word can revive dead situations.

Obedience activates divine intervention.

Faith grows when believers act on God’s instruction.

Complaining delays miracles, but obedience attracts them.

3. Miracle

When Ezekiel prophesied, there was a noise and a shaking. The bones came together, flesh entered them, and breath came into them. What was dead became alive again.

This shows that no condition is beyond God’s power.

genui{"math_block_widget_always_prefetch_v2":{"content":"y=e^x"}}Just as growth in the graph above keeps rising, God’s power and restoration can move a life from hopelessness to increase and renewal.

Miracles happen when:

Faith replaces fear.

God’s word is believed.

Prayer is persistent.

Hope is maintained even in difficult seasons.

The same God who restored the dry bones can restore:

Broken homes

Spiritual weakness

Financial struggles

Delayed blessings

Lost opportunities

Failing health

Signs That Someone Is Losing Hope

1. Constant fear and worry

2. Lack of prayer life

3. Negative confession

4. Isolation from fellowship

5. Doubting God’s promises

How To Keep Hope Alive

1. Study and meditate on God’s word daily.

2. Pray without ceasing.

3. Surround yourself with people of faith.

4. Remember God’s past faithfulness.

5. Speak positively over your life.

6. Trust God’s timing.

Conclusion

No matter how dry the valley may look, God still has the final say. Dry bones can rise again. Situations can change. Delays are not denials. God is able to restore joy, peace, health, and purpose.

Do not lose hope because:

God is still working.

God has not abandoned you.

Your miracle may be closer than you think.

As Ezekiel obeyed God and saw restoration, every believer who trusts and obeys God will also experience divine turnaround.

Fighting a Good Fight of Faith

Holy Bible teaches that the Christian life is not a life of ease, carelessness, or spiritual laziness. It is a battlefield where believers must stand firm in faith, resist temptation, overcome trials, and remain faithful to God until the end. The Apostle Paul charged Timothy in First Epistle to Timothy 6:12:

> “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life…”

This instruction reveals that faith is not passive. It requires courage, endurance, discipline, obedience, and total dependence on God.

---

What Does “Fight the Good Fight of Faith” Mean?

Fighting the good fight of faith means:

Standing firmly on God’s Word despite opposition.

Trusting God even when situations seem difficult.

Resisting sin, fear, doubt, and temptation.

Remaining faithful to Christ in every season.

Refusing to give up on God’s promises.

It is called a good fight because:

1. It is a righteous fight.

2. It leads to eternal victory.

3. God fights alongside His children.

4. The reward is everlasting life.

Unlike worldly battles fought with physical weapons, the fight of faith is spiritual.

---

The Nature of the Christian Battle

The believer faces battles from different directions:

1. The Battle Against Sin

Sin fights against the soul daily. A believer must constantly crucify sinful desires and pursue holiness.

Temptations may come through:

Lust

Anger

Pride

Greed

Bitterness

Peer pressure

Victory comes through prayer, discipline, and obedience to God.

---

2. The Battle Against Doubt and Fear

Sometimes circumstances challenge faith:

Delay in answered prayers

Financial struggles

Sickness

Persecution

Disappointments

Faith continues believing God even when physical evidence is absent.

genui{"math_block_widget_always_prefetch_v2":{"content":"f(x)=e^{-x}\\sin(x)"}}Just as a graph may rise and fall yet continue forward, the believer may face difficult seasons but must continue moving in faith toward God’s purpose.

---

3. The Battle Against the Devil

Satan seeks to weaken believers through deception, discouragement, temptation, and spiritual attacks.

Epistle to the Ephesians 6:12 reminds believers that:

> “We wrestle not against flesh and blood…”

The enemy fights:

Prayer life

Faith

Commitment

Love for God

Spiritual growth

Believers overcome through the authority of Jesus Christ.

---

Weapons for Fighting the Good Fight of Faith

1. The Word of God

The Word of God is the believer’s sword.

Jesus defeated Satan during temptation by declaring:

> “It is written…”

Studying and meditating on Scripture strengthens faith and provides direction.

Benefits of God’s Word:

Builds confidence

Corrects errors

Gives wisdom

Strengthens spiritual life

Defeats lies of the enemy

---

2. Prayer

Prayer is spiritual communication with God. A prayerless Christian becomes spiritually weak.

Through prayer:

Strength is renewed

Battles are won

Temptations are overcome

Faith increases

Consistent prayer keeps believers connected to God’s power.

3. Faith in God’s Promises

Faith believes God regardless of circumstances.

Abraham believed God even when the promise seemed impossible. Genuine faith trusts God’s timing and remains steadfast.

True faith says:

“God is still able.”

“I will not give up.”

“God’s promises will surely come to pass.”

4. Righteous Living

A holy lifestyle protects spiritual strength. Sin weakens faith and creates distance between man and God.

Believers must:

Live honestly

Forgive others

Avoid worldly corruption

Walk in love and purity

Righteous living gives boldness before God.

5. Fellowship With Other Believers

Christian fellowship provides encouragement and accountability.

Through fellowship:

Faith is strengthened

Burdens are shared

Spiritual growth increases

Believers encourage one another

Isolation often weakens spiritual life.

---

Characteristics of Those Who Fight the Good Fight of Faith

1. Perseverance

They do not quit when trials come.

Job endured suffering yet remained faithful to God.

Faithful believers continue trusting God despite pain and hardship

2. Courage

Spiritual battles require boldness.

David faced Goliath with confidence in God rather than fear.

Faith produces courage because believers know God is greater than every enemy.

3. Patience

God’s promises sometimes take time. Those fighting the good fight learn to wait on God without losing hope.

Patience develops spiritual maturity.

4. Obedience

Faith without obedience is incomplete.

True faith obeys God even when His instructions seem difficult.

---

Challenges That Can Weaken Faith

Many believers lose spiritual strength because of:

Worldly distractions

Love of money

Unforgiveness

Bad company

Spiritual laziness

Discouragement

Unconfessed sin

These things can slowly pull believers away from God if not resisted.

---

How to Remain Strong in the Fight of Faith

Stay Close to God Daily

Spend time in prayer and Bible study.

Guard Your Heart

Avoid influences that weaken spiritual passion.

Remember God’s Faithfulness

Reflect on past victories and testimonies.

Keep Eternal Life in View

The Christian journey is temporary, but eternity is forever.

Depend on the Holy Spirit

Human strength alone cannot sustain spiritual victory.

---

Rewards of Fighting the Good Fight of Faith

Those who remain faithful receive great rewards from God.

1. Spiritual Victory

God gives victory over sin and temptation.

2. Peace and Joy

Faith produces inner peace even during storms.

3. Strong Relationship With God

Faithfulness draws believers closer to God.

4. Eternal Life

The greatest reward is eternal fellowship with God.

Paul declared in Second Epistle to Timothy 4:7:

> “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

This should be the goal of every believer.

---

Conclusion

Fighting the good fight of faith is the daily responsibility of every Christian. The journey may include trials, temptations, delays, and spiritual warfare, but believers are not alone. God gives strength, grace, and victory to those who trust Him wholeheartedly.

The fight of faith requires:

Prayer

Obedience

Holiness

Patience

Courage

Dependence on God

No matter the battle, believers must continue standing firm, knowing that victory belongs to those who remain faithful to the end.

My case is different

24/05/2026

*Feed on Christ*

*And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”*
*John 6:35*

In John 11:53, we see an unexpected response toward Jesus when He performed the astounding miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. From that day on, it says the chief priests and the Pharisees plotted to kill Jesus—the One Who opened blind eyes, unstopped deaf ears, cleansed those with leprosy, and raised the dead!

Why? And what does this tell you about what was in their hearts?

In order to be a chief priest or a Pharisee, one needed to be a student of the Word of God from a young age, and to know the Torah from front to back. Yet the religious leaders, who were zealous for the law and knew all about the Torah, were the very people who plotted to kill Jesus.

Now lean in and listen closely to what I am about to say. They had head knowledge but they did not have a heart for the person of Jesus. They had all this Bible knowledge, but they did not have the Author of the Bible in their hearts.

They would constantly quote from the Old Testament to condemn and to crush those who have failed instead of saving them. Remember how they wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery by quoting from the law of Moses, but Jesus saved her by inviting the one who had no sin to cast the first stone.

Beloved, it is possible for people today to accumulate a lot of head knowledge on this theology and that theology, and yet not have any heart knowledge that burns with love and passion for our Lord Jesus Christ. It is possible to enrich your mind or to study about this interpretation and that interpretation of the Scriptures, and still have a heart that is stone-cold when it comes to an intimate and personal relationship with Jesus.

Now don’t misunderstand me—I am not saying that you should not acquire Bible knowledge. I am saying that we need to study the Bible not simply to accumulate head knowledge, but to have a revelation of Jesus. To have a heart of love for Jesus, you must know the Bible.

In fact, true scriptural knowledge about Jesus will lead you to have a heart for Jesus. Don’t be like the Pharisees, who had Bible knowledge, but no love for our Lord Jesus. Don’t miss the Author when you are reading His Word.

When you study the Bible, study to feed on the person of Jesus. Feed on His beauty, His grace, His majesty, and His immense and sacrificial love for you. We read the Word to feed on Christ.

Oh, how I love the phrase, “to feed on Christ.” He is the bread of life and the more you feed on Him in the Word, the more you will be strengthened and nourished with His health, life, and wisdom for every area of your life.

When you see Jesus in the Word, you will know how to esteem and value Him. Jesus becomes real food for your soul and He gives you strength for your service.

Real holiness comes from beholding Jesus. As you behold our Lord, you are transformed from the inside out from glory to glory.

When you value Jesus, your heart’s desire is just to glorify Him in everything that you think, say, and do. When you have a heart for Jesus, everything in your life—whether it is your marriage, your parenting, or your career—will fall into place as you receive His finished work!

God bless You
