Text: Isaiah 9:6

Jesus is called by many names.
The resurrection and the life, the way, truth and life, the good shepherd, and even in our text today we see 5 names.

Our focus today is on: Wonderful Counselor

The word Wonderful is a combination of ‘Wonder’ and ‘full’.
It means Full of wonder.

Our God is full of wonders, and we can see various examples in the Bible.

In Luke 1: 26-38- a virgin conceiving by the Holy Ghost is a wonder.

In Matt 14:22-23 walking in water is a wonder

When God does wonders, he breaks protocols for your sake.
We see that happen in Matt 8:1-4.

More than doing wonders for you, God can make you a Wonder.
In Mark 5:2-20 we see the raving mad man turned into a wonder after his healing.

🗣️I pray for you that this month, God will do something for you and make you a wonder to the world.

🗣️ Next time I hear of you, you will have a wonderful story to tell

🗣️ I pray for you, you will weep no more!

🗣️ Anyone here trusting God for a miracle, God will surprise you!

Proverbs 15:22 teaches us the importance of counsel.

Counsel provides wisdom to act.
Jesus displayed mighty wisdom in dealing with people.
(Matt 22:16-22, John 8:3-11)

3 counsels from the Bible that will help your life:
• Rejoice evermore
• Pray without ceasing
• In everything, give thanks

Who is an advocate?
Someone who stands for you, when you run into trouble.

The Bible in 1 John 2:1 assures us that we have an advocate in God, if we ever fall into sin.

And Romans 8:31-34 tells us that the counsel of the Lord shall stand!

There are various kinds of counsel- good and bad.

There are many advocates, but there is only One advocate.
The One that will admit that His defendants is guilty and still give Himself as a ransom for their sins- Only God!

Jesus has paid the price for your sins.
All you have to do is accept His sacrifice, and walk freely as a new man in Him.

Come to Jesus today, His shed blood has washed away your sins.

Lord help me, please you are my advocate, help me 🙏🏾

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

The picture below shows the properties found in the homes of the rich, high and mighty many years ago. Today, they have become obsolete. Truly, nothing lasts forever!

People die every day and many more are born every day. In all, the most valuable thing is peace of mind - peace like a river.

Peace that is enabled through a clear conscience is an invaluable asset that is possessed only by a few. Peace is so fragile, so, so fragile that regardless of the opulence some people display outwardly, their inward selves are at war within. That explains why some people go to bed, slept eight hours, and still wake up tired.

True peace of mind comes from trusting God, turning away from worry through prayer, and focusing your thoughts on His promises.

Key factors:

For some, they bite the finger that fed them. For some, they betrayed their benefactors. Some usurp the privilege they had. Some refuse to let go of hurts and missed opportunities - worrying took a toll. For many more, their stock in trade is assassination - assassination of character and the souls of mortals. Some called it a trend. Some call it political sagacity, especially those who have successfully smeared their consequences.

Final word

Anything ill gotten - wealth, position, access, wrong perception, etc, takes away your peace.
