These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
I know you will be asking why, after all, I am a believer? But you are not immune to problems. As a matter of fact, the anointing upon your life attracts envy, jealousy, attacks, persecution, antagonism, victimisation, despondency, and the likes.
Watch this:
And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle
1 Samuel 17:28
Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
Mathew 22:15
And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
Luke 20:20
Look upwards to your heavenly Father, and behold Him pure and Holy. Do you know that one day you will be like Him? Do you think it will be easy to conform to His image? You will require much refining in the furnace of affliction, persecution and the likes, in order for you to be purified. It is not an easy process to get rid of your corruptions, and be "Perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
Look downwards. Do you know what enemies you have around you? You were once a servant of Satan, and no king will willingly lose his subjects. Do you think Satan will leave you alone just like that? No, he will always give a go at you, for he “Goeth about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” So expect trouble, trials, afflictions, difficulties, etc. It's obvious, trouble is coming.
Look around you . Where are you in the first place? You are in the enemy’s country; a stranger and a sojourner in his domain. The world is not your home my friend. If it were, then you are not of God. Of a truth, he that is a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Be assured that you shall find evil men everywherevv vvv vv. When you sleep, don't think that you are resting. For there is no resting in the battlefield. Even when you are walking around, suspect an ambush in every hedge. "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise" Ephesians 5:15.
The word CIRCUMSPECTLY, is a military word and it has to do with being alert, cautious, and tactful. It is said of mosquitoes that they bite strangers more than the natives, so will the trials of earth be sharpest to youward.
Lastly, look within you, into your own heart and observe what is there. Is sin and self still within? If you have no devil to tempt you, no enemies to fight, and none of the world to ensnare you, you will find in yourself enough evil to be a source of trouble to you.
"I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."
Romans 7:21-23
Expect trouble then, but don't give up on account of it, for God is with you to help and to strengthen you. He says, “I will be with thee in trouble; I will deliver thee and honour thee.”
"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee" Isaiah 43:2-3.
Has He said it, then He will do it!
