GALATIANS 4:19 KJV
My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
The assignment of the devil is to steal, to kill and to destroy. One of his works is death. To oppose God’s purpose in a man’s life, he either kills the man physically (through miscarriages or premature death) spiritually.
Pharaoh tried to destroy the children of Israel first by afflicting them, but the more he afflicted them, the more they increased (Exo. 1:). When he could not succeed, he resorted to telling the midwives to kill the male children at birth, but they refused. Then, he resorted to killing all male children below two years of age. His target? Their deliverer, MOSES. So when you pray against death, physical or spiritual, you are praying the purpose of God.
Herod also resorted to killing babies aged two years and below, and went all out to kill just one little child! Do you think it was a coincidence? No. The devil was trying to kill the saviour. So, when you see miscarriages, stillbirths, and premature deaths, the devil is trying to kill a kingdom deliverer. It is unseen battle in the spirit realm.
When he cannot kill them physically, he tries to kill people spiritually by keeping them unsaved, or if they were saved, by making them backslide. Spiritual death is worse than physical death, because once a person is spiritually dead, they are destined to an eternity with the devil in hell. Spiritual death is due to sin and separation from God (Rom. 6:23, Ezek. 18:4, Gen. 2:17). Such people are bound by sin and serve satan and his biddings, and they need rescue. They cannot save themselves. They need a midwife; a spiritual midwife.
God needs spiritual midwives who will stand in the gap through prayer to ensure that the devil does not kill people physically or spiritually, and to ensure that destinies are delivered safely. The Egyptian midwives ensured those babies lived. Through prayer, we must ensure that children, teens, youths and every unsaved person gets saved and is established in the Lord.
A midwife is a nurse who assists mothers give birth to their babies. A midwife is someone who helps in bringing forth something. Anyone who helps people get saved and grow is a midwife. Paul said to the Galatians, calling them his little children, that he again and again would travail (be in labour) to give birth to them spiritually until Christ’s nature is formed in them (Gal. 4:19). Nobody gets saved if there is nobody praying for them. There will be no conviction, brokenness, repentance, or salvation except somebody is praying for the sinner to be saved. The chains of sin are broken through prayer. Hardened hearts are melted and turned to God through prayer. For you to be saved, and grow and be established in Christ, somebody prayed for you. God is looking for people who will stand in the gap through prayer, to draw the hearts of people to Him (Ezek. 22:30-31).
A certain widow served God through fasting and prayer, night and day around the time Jesus was born. Her assignment was to ensure, through fasting and prayer, that Herod and his men could not locate Jesus. It ensured that angels were positioned to guide Joseph and the wise men to make decisions that kept the child Jesus safe (Luk. 2:36-38). Another man, Simeon, was also praying in that season and when he had finally seen the child, he said he could now die in peace (Luk. 2:25-35). I believe these people were spiritual midwives in that season. May God make you a spiritual midwife in Jesus’ name.
ACTION POINTS
-Pray against the spirits that cause miscarriages, stillbirths, and premature death.
-Pray daily for the salvation of sinners.
-Wage war against the devil that is warring for the souls of men.
PRAYER POINTS
-Lord, I surrender myself as a spiritual midwife to pray for every unsaved person to be saved - children, teens, youths, adults in Jesus’ name.
-I bind the spirit of miscarriages, and premature death in Jesus’ name. No one dies and misses God’s will for their life in Jesus’ name.
NUGGET
Through prayer, we must ensure that children, teens, youths and every unsaved person gets saved and is established in the Lord.
