UNITED FOR BREAKTHROUGH: A DAY FAMILIES WILL NEVER FORGET
Sunday, January 18, 2026, will forever remain etched in the spiritual memory of Grace and Power Gospel Mission as a day when families gathered, stood united, and contended for breakthrough.
From the very first moment, the atmosphere carried a sacred expectancy. The sanctuary became charged with the cloud of God's Glory through worship. The church arena was transformed into a rally ground for destiny, unity, and divine intervention as the Family Day Service, themed United for Breakthrough, unfolded in beauty and power.
The service opened with a colourful Family Parade, a breathtaking spectacle of unity. Families marched together in coordinated outfits and radiant smiles —each procession declaring without words that strength multiplies when families stand as one. It was pomp and purpose blended into a moving testimony of togetherness.
A deeply touching moment followed with the child dedication and thanksgiving of PrinceAdriel Joseph Orok Ekpo, the first grandchild of the National President of Grace and Power Gospel Mission , Most Reverend Joseph Ekpo. As prayers were offered over the child, the moment became symbolic—a transgenerational baton being lifted and blessed before God, affirming continuity, covenant, and hope for the future.
Excitement surged during the Family Trivia Challenge, a lively segment that tested knowledge, teamwork, and unity. Cheers filled the hall as:
The Family of Mrs and Mrs. Lois (Tinted) emerged first,
The Family of Mr. and Mrs. Utibe George followed closely,
The Family of Mr. and Mrs. Anietie Okoro secured third place.
Beyond the competition, the trivia reinforced a clear truth: families that think together, win together.
Then came a dramatic spiritual shift. The Youth Wing of GPGM -Eagles Theater mounted the stage with a power-packed drama that peeled back the veil on the unseen battles confronting families—witchcraft manipulations, cycles of bad luck, miscarriages, marital breakdowns, abuse, and persistent misfortune. The audience watched in rapt silence as darkness attempted to dominate a typical family, only to be violently disrupted by deliverance through the power in the name of Jesus. It was raw, revelatory, and deeply prophetic.
That drama seamlessly ushered in the Word. Reverend Ambassador Theodore Effiong took the pulpit with a timely and confrontational message titled “War Against Witchcraft.” With clarity and spiritual authority, he exposed the subtle and overt strategies of witchcraft operating against families and unveiled biblical secrets for breaking free from yokes, bondages, and ancestral patterns. Chains were broken by truth. Light swallowed darkness.
The climax came in an unforgettable moment of Family Covenant Prayers. Husbands, wives, children—hands joined, hearts aligned—lifting one voice in prayers of agreement. It was a holy convergence where tears flowed, faith rose, and breakthrough was sealed over long-standing family challenges.
The service ended, but the impact did not. Families left renewed, empowered, and united—carrying not just memories, but covenants.
Indeed, when families are united, breakthrough is inevitable.
