Message tittled: WHY GOD SENT JESUS INTO THE WORLD.
In knowing Jesus, we can understand God. And since God is a Spirit, those who worship Him, must worship Him in spirit & in truth.
God came as a man in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, to show us face to face, Who He is.
To explain this mystery, 1Timothy 3:16, has this to say: " And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory".
For the first time, angels first saw Jesus on earth, because in heaven, He was the Word of God. The first begotten Son of God. When He was going back, He charged the the gates to lift up their heads, so that the King of glory may come in....
Just as God told Moses, I heard the cry of My children, the children of Israel, so I had to come down... same could be said of God coming down in the form of a man, Jesus, to save mankind. To accomplish this task, God prepared a body for Jesus, which was used as sacrifice on the cross.
See Hebrew 10:5" Wherefore when He cometh into the world, He saith, Sacrifice and offering Thou wouldest not, but a body Thou has prepared for Me."
Yes, this body was the sacrifice at Calvary.
He also came with the gospel, which is the deliverance from darkness. It's the revelation & knowledge that delivers us from darkness, translates us from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His dear Son. Without knowledge, deliverance would be a waste of time.
Jesus came to show us Who God is. He demonstrated the character of God. He showed that believers should take the word of God seriously. Since we don't have power of our own, believers should do things according to what they hear from God.
Jesus also demonstrated that, when God sends a person, God lives in that person. So, when He was asked, where is Your Father? He had this to say : " Then said they unto Him, Where is Thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know Me, nor My Father: if ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also". John 8:19.
Here Jesus emphasis on the word" know", which in other words refers to discernment, assimilation, thorough understanding. We must have a thorough knowledge about the things of God. We must meditate on the word of God. We must know that any one who God sends, He lives in that person.
2 Corinthians 5: 18-19, buttresses this point, thus, " All things are of God, Who had reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given unto us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing trespasses unto them; and had committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
Our Lord Jesus oversees His Church on earth. He said, the work that I do, you will do same. Because, He Who sent us is in us doing the work, not ourselves. Explaining further, the Lord said in John 14:7, " If ye hath known Me, ye should have known My Father also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him".
John 12: 44-45, further states what Jesus has been saying, that if you've known Him, you'll know His Father also. And if you've seen Me, you would've seen My Father also. If you believe in Him, you would also believe in the One Who sent Him.
In His prayer, the Lord Jesus, in John 17:25-26, He uses the word, " known" Me. That the love that the Father loved Him, it's the same love He loves us. That's total knowledge of the mission of word of God on earth.
In John 15:7, the Lord admonished us to abide in His love. That's to hold tenaciously, unshakable, that's with steady consciousness. He said, abide in My love as you keep My commandments. In this way, our inheritance is the totality of all that Christ has.
As stated in Col.1:15, Christ is the express image of God & it pleases Him , the Father that everything dwells in the Son, Jesus Christ. The fullness of God dwells in Christ Jesus. Meaning, all power is given to Him. So when you know Him, believe Him, & trust Him, all that He has is yours.
He had also given all power to the Church.
To God be all the glory in Jesus name. Amen.
