DIVINE WORSHIP

Topic: Let Us Run This Race with Endurance
Texts: Hebrews 12:1–10; 2 Timothy 4:5–8; 1 Corinthians 9:24–25

Message:
Everyone is running a race, but not everyone will receive the crown. As Christians, our goal is not simply to start the race. It is to finish well.

Hebrews 12:1–3 reminds us to lay aside every weight and sin that can hold us back, and to run with patience and endurance while looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

God wants us to run with patience, endurance, righteousness, and faith. Remember, while we are looking unto God, others are also looking at our lives. Let our lives point people to Christ.

Run to the End
2 Timothy 4:5–8 teaches us to be watchful, endure hardship, and remain faithful. Paul declared that he had fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.

Daniel refused to defile himself with the world, while Esther stood courageously for God's purpose. They ran their race faithfully. We too must remain different when the world pressures us to conform.

There Is a Prize 🏆
1 Corinthians 9:24–25 reminds us that every racer runs for a prize. The world offers perishable crowns, but we are running for an imperishable crown.
Don't run for applause, recognition, or personal glory. Run for the glory of God.

🙏 Prayer
Father, help us to run a good race. Give us grace to endure to the end. Keep our eyes on Jesus and do not let us run for personal glory. Help us to finish well and receive the crown prepared for the faithful. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Theme: Do the Bidding of God, Not of Self
Text: Judges 17:1–13 (Focus: Verse 6)

God's work should never be driven by personal gain or selfish ambition. Many people are willing to serve God only when there is something to gain, but true service is motivated by love for God, not by the desire for reward or self-gratification.
One of the greatest obstacles to serving God faithfully is the constant pursuit of personal benefit. The world encourages compromise in our workplaces, businesses, schools, and even in our moral lives. However, God calls His people to live a life that is separated and devoted to Him.
Judges 17:6 tells us that the Israelites did whatever seemed right in their own eyes because there was no king in Israel. As Christians, we must recognize God as our King and willingly submit to His authority through His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

To Do the Bidding of God, We Must:
1. Love God: Jesus said, if you love me, you will keep my commandment. (John 14:15)
2. Deny yourself: Jesus said in the bible that if you must follow me, you need to deny yourself, take up your cross (Luke 9:23). Self denial is essential to living a Christ centered life.
3. Be grateful: Gratitude puts you in the position of nothing, enabling you see that without God you will not be made.
4. Follow the word: The manual of life for every christian believer is the bible, where the word of God is encapsulated. David sang in the book of Psalms 119:105; saying the word of the Lord is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. Therefore, we must read the Bible so that the right path will be illuminated that we may walk therein.

Conclusion
Just as every community, group, or nation has a leader whose instructions must be followed, the Church has Jesus Christ as its Head. Therefore, we are called to obey His will and carry out His bidding.
Before you speak, dress, or act in any situation, ask yourself whether it reflects God's will. As Christians, we are called to reflect the life and character of Christ, not the values and desires of the world.

Introduction

We are living in a generation where new doctrines, new lifestyles, new standards of dressing, and new ways of thinking continually emerge. While not every change is harmful, many seek to draw believers away from the unchanging truth of God's Word. Scripture therefore exhorts us:

«"But hold fast what you have till I come." — Revelation 2:25»

As believers, we must remain firmly rooted in the truth we have received in Christ. If we fail to hold fast to God and His Word, we risk being swept away by the pressures and deception of the world.

Two Things Every Believer Must Hold Fast To

1. Hold Fast to Your Salvation

Never lose sight of the salvation God has freely given through Jesus Christ. He is our refuge, our hope, and our everlasting security.

Whether in the morning, at noon, or in the evening; whether in seasons of abundance or seasons of hardship, remain steadfast in your walk with God. Let nothing separate you from your commitment to Christ.

2. Hold Fast to Your Faith

Faith will often be tested. There will be moments when circumstances seem overwhelming and your confidence in God is challenged.

In such times, refuse to compromise or turn to ungodly alternatives. Instead, stand upon the promises of God's Word. Let the example of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego inspire you. They chose unwavering faith over idolatry, trusting God regardless of the outcome. Their steadfastness brought glory to God and victory over adversity.

Conclusion

Do not abandon your service to God because of people's opinions, criticism, or opposition. Remain faithful, even when obedience is costly.

When the evil day comes, only those who have held firmly to God will remain standing. God's promise is sure:

«"And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations." — Revelation 2:26»

May we remain steadfast in our salvation, unwavering in our faith, and faithful to the end, so that we may inherit the promises prepared for those who overcome.

4th Ikot Obio Atai Major Convention

Appreciation:
All glory to God for a mighty move at our 4th major convention, themed "The Comfort of the Known Voice" We heard Him, we felt Him, and we were comforted by the Voice we know so well. Special appreciation to our Field Superintendent, the major centre chairman and other ministers who yielded to the Holy Spirit and delivered life-changing words.
To every unit and member who laboured, served, and showed up — thank you! Together, we made this convention a true testimony of God's faithfulness.

We responded to the call from the KNOWN VOICE - the voice of God, we came with a heavy heart, we came just the way we were and He healed our broken heart, gave us the cause to sing His praises, dance and jump in appreciation for His goodness.
