🕊️ BIOGRAPHY OF LATE YAKUSAK AYUBA SANI
(May 4, 1961 – September 11, 2026)
Early Life and Education
Late Yakusak Ayuba Sani was born on May 4, 1961, in Ungwan Rimi, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, to the family of Hussaini Yakusak (father) and Yakariok Sharamang Yakusak (mother).
From an early age, he demonstrated strong discipline and a keen desire for learning.
He began his formal education at LEA Primary School, Ungwan-Rimi Bajju, attending from 1968 to 1974, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He subsequently proceeded to Government Secondary School, Fadan Kaje, from 1975 to 1980, completing his secondary education with the West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1980.
Career and Professional Development
Yakusak Ayuba Sani began his professional career as a Clerk at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, serving from September 1980 to March 1981.
On April 14, 1981, he commenced employment with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as a Trainee L**e Operator, later transferring to Production Fuels in 1983.
Over his distinguished 35-year career at NNPC, he held several key operational positions:
Unit Operator: 1981–1985
Senior Operator: 1986–1989
Panel Operator: 1990–2004
Chief Operator: 2005–2016
To continuously enhance his technical and administrative capacity, he pursued higher education at Kaduna Polytechnic. He obtained a Diploma in Production Management (1990–1992), a National Diploma in Business Studies (1996–1997), and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration (2000–2002).
Additionally, he attended specialized professional courses, including the FCC and Catalytic Reforming Technology Course in Bombay, India (September 1–October 10, 1997) and the Instrument Control for Process Engineering Course in Warri (2005).
After 35 years of meritorious service to Nigeria, he retired honorably from the NNPC on April 14, 2016.
Spiritual Life and Community Service
Yakusak Ayuba Sani's spiritual journey began on April 6, 1969, when he was baptized at St. James Anglican Church, Ungwan Rimi Bajju. He was confirmed by Bishop S. A. Abayomi on January 15, 1975, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Kafanchan, now Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kafanchan.
Throughout his life, he was a devoted Christian, loving husband, caring father, and great brother, remembered for his peace, wisdom, and integrity.
He lived a life committed to spiritual teachings and service to God and humanity. Known for his exceptional punctuality, he was never late to church services or programmes. He extended generous support to widows, orphans, the needy, and the less privileged, while demonstrating deep concern for the welfare of clergy posted to Ascension Anglican Church, Ungwan Boro.

Marital and Family Life
Yakusak Ayuba Sani was joined in holy matrimony to Mrs. Afiniki Kubai Nkut at St. James Anglican Church, Ungwan Rimi Bajju, on December 22, 1990.
Following her passing on February 18, 2005, he married Mrs. Gloria T. A. Shamang on June 1, 2008, at Ascension Anglican Church, Ungwan Boro, Kaduna.
Their marriage was built upon Christian faith, love, and steadfast commitment, creating a God-centred home that served as a blessing to many.
His marriages were blessed with children: Helen Abakasa Silas, Janet Katung, Timothy Yakusak, Maxwell Yakusak, Bege Mato, Peter Yakusak, Paul Yakusak, Sarah Mato, and Sharon Yakusak.
He is survived and mourned by his family, including his daughter-in-law Joy Maxwell, his son-in-law Katung John Kwasu, his granddaughter Kazangka Katung, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, friends, associates, and loved ones whose lives he profoundly touched.

As we share these pictures from his funeral, we remember a life dedicated to faith, family, professional service, the Church, and humanity.
The church continues to pray for God's comfort and strength for his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all who mourn his passing.
