The pain of my wife and I was turned to joy.
My wife and I were just sitting quietly one evening in our neighborhood corridor, the same place where the house of an old woman stood.
Mama lived for 91 years. She was kind to us, genuinely kind.
She loved my wife deeply and always spoke words that carried weight beyond this age.
She would often tell us, “Let Christ be the head of your home. Avoid competition in life. Be kind, even when it costs you.”
Sometimes, her kindness toward us came in very big ways.
As we sat there, it suddenly hit us; we will never see mama again. The laughter, the advice, the warmth… gone.
My wife and I became emotional. So sad for a moment. But immediately we remembered her relationship with God while she was alive, a foreign joy filled our spirits.
However, a reality to everyone was captured.
Neither my brand new wife, nor I are dying anytime soon. But the truth is sobering: one day, everyone is leaving this world.
The question is not if, but how prepared are we?
The world is getting noisier and busier. Daily struggles, survival, ambitions, and pressure have numbed our awareness of how short life really is.
We plan as though we’ll be here forever, forgetting that not everyone grows old like mama. Some leave suddenly.
And beyond that, there is a greater reality many ignore; the rapture can happen at any time. It will not give notice.
It will not wait for anyone to finish building, marrying, hustling, or repenting “tomorrow.”
Eternity is real. Heaven is real. Hell is real.
And salvation is urgent.
Jesus is still calling.
His arms are still open.
Grace is still available, but time is running.
Today is not just another day. Today is the day of salvation.
Say yes to Jesus. Amend your ways. Secure your eternity.
Because when this life ends; whether by age, by sudden departure, or by the rapture, only one thing will matter:
Did you belong to Christ?
Say Lord Jesus, come into my life.
Remain blessed.
