JESUS DEFIES THE LAW OF GRAVITY
The Herioic Defiance of Gravity
The Ascension is the most "captivating" act of defiance in history. It was the moment Jesus looked at the laws of a fallen world;death, decay, and the heavy pull of the earth, and quietly rose above them.
He did not leave as a ghost or a fleeting shadow. He ascended with scars still visible on his hands. Think of the beauty in that: the wounds of our world were carried into the perfection of heaven. He took our humanity, our tired muscles, our tear-ducts, and is seated it at the right hand of the Father. For the first time in eternity, there is a human heartbeat echoing in the throne room of the universe.
Jesus had to defy to law of gravity just to Earn you and I a spot in the heart and presence of the Father.
JESUS DEFIED THE LAW OF GRAVITY FOR YOUR SAKE.
The true inspiration behind the Ascension isn't found in the height Jesus reached, but in the bridge he left behind. Most religions speak of humans trying to climb a ladder to reach a distant God. The Ascension flips the story. It tells us that God came down to the dust, walked our streets, and then pulled our nature up with him. When you feel small, forgotten, or weighed down by the "gravity" of life’s hardships, remember this:
The King of Glory knows exactly what it feels like to be you. He didn't shed his humanity like an old coat; he wore it into the light. He is not just "up there" watching us; he is "in there" representing us.
