In the final days before Christ returns, there will be false teachers, spiritual dropouts and heretics. The remedy for error is to have a solid program for teaching Christians.

Because of deception and false teaching, we must be disciplined and ready to reject error. Know the Word of God as your sure defense against error and confusion.

REBELLION

Before Christ's return, there will be a great rebellion against God led by the man of lawlessness ( the Antichrist). God will remove all the restraints on evil before he brings judgment on the rebels. The Antichrist will attempt to deceive many.

We should not be afraid when we see evil increase. God is in control, no matter how evil the world becomes
God guards us during Satan's attacks. We can have victory over evil by remaining faithful to God

Because of fear, pain, suffering and death, Christians are often in need of comfort. A comforter is someone who stand by us in time of need to give us strength to carry on and tangible support to lead us through the rough times.

In our sufferings we receive comfort from other people. And our own suffering equips us God, who comfort others. But our chief comforter is God, who comfort us by his presence and by his gracious word of pardon for sin and assurance of victory. Giving strength in time of sorrow is especially a task given to the Holy spirit.

's Faithful People

John wrote to encourage the church to resist the demands to worship the Roman emperor. He warns all God's faithful people to be devoted only to Christ. Revelation identifies who the faithful people are and what they should be doing until Christ returns.

You can take your place in the ranks of God's faithful people by believing in Christ. Victory is sure for those who resist temptation and make loyalty to Christ their top priority.

Topic: Trembling at God's Word

Text: I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and who trembles at My word.—Isaiah 66:2

Do you tremble when God speaks? When was the last time you were physically affected by the reality that almighty God just spoke directly to you? John lost all physical strength when God spoke to him (Rev. 1:17); Paul fell to the ground when Christ met him on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:4); Moses trembled when God spoke to him (Acts 7:32); and Peter, when he realized who Jesus was, “fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, 'Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!'”(Luke 5:8).

Have you lost your sense of awe that the Creator still chooses to speak to you, His creation? Do you approach the reading of your Bible with a holy expectation, listening for the life-changing words that God has for you that day? Scripture says that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Prov. 9:10). There are things you will see and hear out of your fear and reverence for God that you will not experience in any other way.

As you study your Bible, you may sense that God has something to say directly to you through the verses you are reading. Take a moment to consider the awesome reality that the God who spoke and created a universe is now speaking to you. If Jesus could speak and raise the dead, calm a storm, cast out demons, and heal the incurable, then what effect might a word from Him have upon your life? The possibilities should cause you to tremble! The next time you open God's Word, do so with a sense of holy expectation.

COUNTING THE COST OF FOLLOWING CHRIST.
[Matthew 10:17-37]

(A). Who oppose us?
1. GOVERNMENT = Matt.10:18-19
2. RELIGIOUS PEOPLE = Matt.10:17
3. FAMILY = Matt.10:21

(B). Natural response
1. FEAR
2. WORRY

(C). Possible pressures
1. THREATS = Matt.10:26
2. PHYSICAL HARM = Matt.10:28
3. PUBLIC RIDICULE = Matt.10:22
4. REJECTION BY LOVED ONES = Matt.10:34-37

(D). Needed truth
1. THE TRUTH WILL BE REVEALED = Matt.10:26
2. OUR SOUL CANNOT BE HARMED = Matt.10:28
3. GOD HIMSELF WILL ACKNOWLEDGE US IF WE ACKNOWLEDGE HIM = Matt.10:32
4. GOD'S LOVE CAN SUSTAIN US = Matt.10:31

Jesus helped his disciples prepares for the rejection many of them would experience by being Christians. Being God's person will usually create reactions from others who are resisting him.

May God continue to help us in Jesus name. Amen!
