TOPIC: OUR GOD IS THE CHAMPION
TEXT: 1 Sam.17:1-10; Isaiah 45:23; Isaiah 43:10-13; Matt.19:26
MANY people in this world whenever they excel in one area of their lives endeavour, people will ascribe them as champion and as a result, many people who call thems elves champion; and also some, human beings calls them champions, such as cham pion of industry, boxing, wrestling, footballing and all these champions, before you k now it, they are defeated by others or they die or bedefeated by sickness, afflictio ns and diseases. So, no matter the champion in this world, our God can never die, be sick nor be defeated. He is the real champion and today, He will defeat all your ene mies in Jesus name.
We shall consider this message under the following subheadings:-

1. THE REASONS AND EXAMPLES
From the introduction, we were shown that human beings are not the champion, nev er could they be the champion, because they are defeated by others and diseases, t eath, poverty and problem. Some men were boxing champions but ordinarily diseased and could not allow them to continue and so were defeated. So, God is the champion! T he God, who can never be defeated by anything, devil, disease, death, man or woma n agent of the devil nor their powers and wisdom or president, kingdom; all these ac claimed champions shall die and some are removed from the office, but God cannot be defeated. No wonder, when Goliath the champion of Philistines boasted, God use d a small boy-David who hurled a stone from his sling to defeat him (1Sam.17:1-10, 41-51).
2. OUR RESPONSE AND BENEFITS
Nobody should boast of any more of his power or might or that of others or devil or de mon or any other being as champion. God is the champion, sometimes, some boast of a having a doctorate degree, being a professor, S.A.N., lawyer, judge, president, go vernor, minister, footballer, senator, wrestler, boxer etc. We all should desist from th at, God is that champion who can never be defeated by anybody or being and from t he beginning of the world till today, from Genesis to Revelation; He has never lost a ny battle. He liveth forever (Exod.3:14; Isaiah 43:10-13). Remember, nothing created, visible and invisible can stand Him (Col.1:16-17; Nahum 1:4-7).
So, call upon Him today, no matter your problem, He will defeat your enemies and yo u shall be champion in Him forever in Jesus name (1Sam.17:4-5, 41-51). All these s elf-acclaimed champions shall be destroyed, but God cannot, because He is the real champion (1John 4:4; 1 John 5:4-5). So, today by His power and support, we shall o vercome all the problems and become champions in Him forever and never again sh
all problem, men or women; demon shall defeat us in Jesus name.
For sinners and backsliders, they should repent, confess their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour (1John 3:8-9; 1John 5:17A; Jer. 4:30; Deu t. 22:5; 2Cor. 5:17; John 3:16; John 19:30; John 14:6; John 10:10; 1:12; Rom. 6:23; Joh n 8:36; John 1:12; Rom. 10:13; Pro. 28:13; Phil. 4:19; Psalm 23:1). how
