SOUTH AFRICANS must be careful lest they incur God's wrath upon their country. Human blood is not just animals blood. Any human blood poured on any soil has its consequences and it keeps crying for vengeance like that of Abel's.

KEYWORDS FOR FRIDAY, THIRD WEEK OF EASTERTIDE.

Dear beloved in Christ, don't be discouraged nor weighed down by the heaviness of your sins. Take a reflection on the life of Saul, now Paul; he was once a traitor, a murderer, someone we could place in our modern world as a terrorist and Boko Haram, but today, a great saint. God only wants your efforts to change and cooperation with His grace. “My grace is sufficient for you,” God told Paul, “For my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

APRIL 16 IS THE FEAST OF ST BERNADETTE SOUBIROUS: Born 1844 in Lourdes, France, and died 1879 in Nevers, France. In 1858, Mary appeared to her and revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception, confirming the Dogma proclaimed with that title 4 years earlier. In the 18 times she appeared to her in Lourdes, she emphasized the necessity of mankind returning to God through repentance, penance and life of virtues. Bernadette became an instrument by which Mary established the pilgrimage Shrine of Lourdes, where many miracles are recorded by the flowing water she asked her to dig. Bernadette died as a member of Sisters of Charity with her body incorrupt. She teaches us that without repentance from sin, we are not true Christians. Let us change our hearts. O Chaste Bernadette, help us!

Same day are also the Feasts of St Benedict Joseph Labre, a mendicant nicknamed "the Holy Fool," and St Fructuosus of Braga, Bishop.

April 15 is the Feast of St Paternus, born 482 in Poitiers and died 550. He learned several of his father's spiritual disciplines which he kept a memory of throughout his life. Drawn to solitude and ascetic life, he became a hermit in the forest of Seicy.

Even though this man sought to remain unknown, God diffused the fragrance of his sanctity, such that many people worshipping idols requested for Baptism and became Christians.

He was later made a Bishop on this account and he governed his Diocese for thirteen years. He teaches us that even when we are very far away in sin, God still longs of internal union with our souls.

For as St Teresa of Ávila teaches, we often don't understand how beautiful our soul is, but God who sees this beauty wants to commune with us. Pay attention to your soul's yearnings. Only God and nothing else can satisfy you. Resist Him no longer. You are very beautiful on the inside, and that's what matters. O Silent Paternus, help us! Same day is also the Feast of St Hunna, Widow.

Pope Leo XIV concluded his day in Algiers with a visit to the iconic Basilica of Our Lady of Africa, a historic site overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and long regarded as a symbol of spiritual encounter and coexistence.

At the heart of the basilica is a dark-toned statue of Virgin Mary, venerated as Our Lady of Africa, with arms outstretched in a gesture symbolizing openness to all people.

An inscription near the altar captures the enduring spirit of the site: “Notre Dame d'Afrique, priez pour nous et pour les Musulmans” (“Our Lady of Africa, pray for us and for the Muslims”). Over the years, the basilica has drawn not only Christians but also Muslims—many of whom affectionately refer to Mary as “Lalla Meriem.

FOR OUR PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES

Attention Please!!!

Dear Brothers,

We sincerely thank you for your interest in discerning your vocation with us. Kindly take note of the following important information before reaching out:

1. Nature of the Congregation
Our congregation is a Religious Order, specifically a monastic and semi-contemplative community. This means our life is centered on prayer, silence, and devotion to God.

2. On Priesthood
In our monastery, members do not join with the intention of becoming priests. Ordination is not the primary goal. Only those chosen by the Superior—if there is a need—may be considered for priesthood.

3. The Monastic Life
Monastic life requires deep sacrifice and commitment. It involves: A profound personal relationship with God. Faithful participation in prayer (up to seven times daily) Dedication to manual and communal labor

4. Discernment and Research
We strongly encourage you to:
Learn who a monk is Understand the duties and lifestyle of monastic life. Prayerfully reflect to discern if you are truly called to this path
If, after careful reflection, you still feel drawn to join us, kindly reach out and let us know.

The Lord is doing something great!
