SUNDAY SERVICE — 16TH AUGUST 2026
TOPIC: MANHOODNESS — SIGNS OF MATURITY
1. ESTEEMS EARTHLY THINGS LIGHTLY
Hebrews 11:24
Sin is doing and living a life that God did not call you to live.
Example: Moses. There is pleasure in sin, but it is a passing pleasure. You cannot put earthly things above heavenly things and expect to grow spiritually.
The evil things that happen to Christians can occur when they absent themselves from church service without permission from the church leadership. During the time of church service, there are angels, which are the members' angels, that go to church. They don't disobey God like humans do; they go to church. So, during that period where they go to church, the people that do not go to church can become vulnerable.
1 Timothy 6:5; 3 John 2; Psalm 1:1
You are to value your spiritual being above every paid job. Prioritize God above all things, even family meetings.
To raise a generation of children that love God, you must lead by example.
2. DEADNESS TO PRAISE
1 Corinthians 12:3; John 12:42
The mature are nonchalant to men's judgments.
When we grow into manhoodness, our focus shifts from men's praise to God's.
Babies are conscious of themselves, but the mature aren't. They are more concerned about God's praise.
For instance, babies are more conscious of themselves, while mature children are conscious of doing what pleases the church or their parents, to receive their parents' praise. They are not conscious of their own selves.
Majority does not win the Kingdom of God. God's verdict wins.
Christianity is the easiest access to wealth and success. Christianity is the shortcut to succeeding in life.
Esther 4:13
A man who fears God is feared by all creatures.
Those who seek to be in the good book of others are not yet matured.
3. ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE GOD AT WORK
Genesis 45:5; Romans 8:28; James 1:2; Genesis 42:34–14; Genesis 50:18
Joseph's story.
It takes spiritual maturity to see God at work in all things.
