Topic -: The one thing
Thursday, September 3rd.

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her (Luke 10:42).

Life becomes so beautiful when it is being lived for the reason why we were created. All through the ministry of Jesus Christ at his first coming to the earth, he made us understand the importance of doing that "one thing" that really matters to God. We have been cultured while growing up, that God is concerned about many things. Everything God asked from us is not about many things but about one thing. When we miss this one thing, worry step in.

More than a thousand years, from the time Adam fell, God worked to bring about "one thing". Colossians 1:27 told us about that one thing that made God raise different prophets in different generations to announce ahead about the one thing that matters to God. Colossians 1:27 reads: "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory".

The one thing to God is bringing Christ to stay inside of man (male and female). To God, Jesus dying at the cross is not his main focus but rather the cross is a means to an end; that is bringing Christ into man through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. From our opening scripture, Jesus said, one thing is needful and Mary has chosen it, and it shall not be taken from her. Don't live just trying out everything to know what will work. No, discover that one thing that makes your strength to be seen and go for it. So you can in turn fulfil that one thing that matter to God.

God wrought in Christ that one thing that matter to him. Now God is biding us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. God is now dependent on you to help him announce to everyone that, he has forgiven their sins. Reading all the books to acquire certificates, and doing everything to make money, if this one thing God bid us to do is not done by you, you have wasted God's resources in you. God invested so much in bringing you to where you are, in order for you to be able to tell those in that class about Christ.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus, I ask for the eyes that sees and the ear that hear, in order to know the one thing that I'm created to fulfill on this earth. I refuse to live an empty life. I live in accordance with the perfect and acceptable will of God for my life. Amen.

Topic -: The conqueror mindset.

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him (Colossians 3:10).

The Christ life is not a life to just talk about but it is also a life to be lived daily. Christ life is a life of continuous victory. When Jesus walked on the earth, from age one to age thirty, he didn't and he couldn't perform any miracle. But when the Holy Spirit came on Jesus at thirty, he performed his first miracle, when he turned water into wine.

Jesus became conscious of his assignment to the earth and from that moment, till he went to the cross, Jesus had a certain mentality about the one in him. When Jesus showed up before a problem, he just knew that the father would answer him. It is because of this mentality, that there was no issue brought before Jesus that he didn't solve supernaturally.

There is a certain mindset that we are expected to have as God's chosen people. We are the blessed of the Lord, called and sent as light to the dying world. We are sent to determine the working of the devil in our sphere of influence. It is what we allow that reign in our sphere of influence. We are not fighting the devil to get the victory, the victory has been won for us.

It is unfortunate that the majority of believers are trying to win victory over the devil in different areas of their lives. This is why many are wounded in heart. This is why many are confuse, on how they could have a very powerful God as their God and yet they are going through what they are going through. My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, the victory has been won for us already. The victory was won when Jesus died and rose again from the dead.

We are not told to try and conquer the devil but rather we are declared a people that are more than conquerors. This is why we need to put on the mindset of a conqueror in order to walk in the fullness of the life of Christ in us. In our opening verse, we are shown the how to put on the mindset of a conqueror. It is through knowledge of Jesus Christ that we put on the required mindset. It is important we know that, the stories in the Bible will only get us informed. It is the revelation of Jesus Christ in the pages of the Bible that energizes our inner man with courage to approach life from victory position.

PRAYER
Father in the name of Jesus, I walk daily in the victory that Jesus won for me. I resist the devil off everything that concerns me in the name of Jesus. I declare that everything is working together for my good in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Topic -: Kingdom realities.

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17).

Glory to God, Jesus Christ didn't leave us comfortless and powerless in this world. Luke 10:19 says: "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." It's not a matter, that has to do with if the Saints (Christians) have power to affect changes in the world, but rather it is a matter of being aware of the power of the Holy Spirit in us. The Bible said, when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you shall receive power.

The question is not if you feel you have the power of God in you. The question is, have you received the Holy Spirit? And the answer is yes. Everyone who has received the life of Christ, has the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. So you have power beyond your human reasoning. In different nations of the earth, Christians are bothered with the same question that those who are not yet in Christ are bothered with. The question is: Why did God allow such and so things to happen?

Our opening verse says, for the kingdom of God is not in meat or drink but in righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost. In other words, the day you became born again, you were born into a kingdom whose reality is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. The very assignment of the devil is to kill, steal and to destroy but thank God, we belong to a kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. We have a role to put the devil out of work in our space.

God wants us to bring to bear on our work place, on our cities, on our families, and on our nations; the very realities of the kingdom of God. It is not God allowing bad things to happen to us or happen in our cities. It is we who have allowed bad things to happen. We are wishing and hoping that one day, things will change on their own, when God has given us the power to put things aright in our space. One of the laws of motion states: an object will be in a state of continuous rest, except a force comes on it.

We can't afford to watch issues close down on our space. God wants you to bring heaven's realities to the earth. For Christ in you is heaven's realities waiting to be express through you and with you. The power of the Holy Ghost is in you- bring it out. Ephesians 3:10 says: "To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God." Plug into what God is doing in these days and time and be a principal distributor of the realities of the kingdom of God on this earth realm.

PRAYER
Father in the name of Jesus, I release the culture of heaven from within me into everything around me. I release peace into the airspace of the city where I reside. Everything is good around me. I turn unfavorable situations into favorable ones. I declare that the elements of the earth are functioning for my good. Amen.

Topic -: The God of the harvest. Pt18

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).

Every man or woman in Christ has been rescued from the corruption that is in this world. What this means is that, the fellow in Christ is eternally saved. Romans 8:1 says, "There is no condemnation to the man in Christ Jesus..." The man in Christ is a citizen of heaven. This shows us why the focus of the man in Christ should never be to make heaven at last.

It is for this cause that we are sent to reconcile others back to God. The reason why the majority of believers don't know that they are sent to reconcile others back to God, is basically because their focus is on the wrong thing. They have believed wrongly, and the result is that, they walk on according to the dictates of their senses. What their senses agree with, that is what they accept as their reality in Christ.

In our opening verse, we are told to preach the gospel to every creature. God sent us a message to everyone in our sphere of influence. Take note of something in our opening verse; we are told to preach the gospel to every creature. What it means is that, we are sent with a definite message. The gospel is the gospel. Meaning, there is no room to preach whatsoever one chooses to preach. The gospel does not change with time. The gospel is the power of God to save lives.

The gospel is the preaching of the forgiveness of sins, which resulted from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The gospel is not "do well and get good." The Bible in Romans 5:8 says, while we were yet sinners, Jesus came and died for us. The messenger is sent to say exactly what he/she has been told to say. It is important to know that, the value and strength of the messenger is in delivering the message as he/she is told.

Today's teaching is targeted to bring our consciousness to the fact that, we are the sent ones and God gave us a message to tell every creature. This message is the message of God's goodness to the sinner. God wants us to tell the untold about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. We are sent with a glorious message.

PRAYER

Father, I thank you for sending me with this glorious message. My mouth is ordered to continually tell the untold about Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus, the communication of the message of Christ is effective in my mouth. Amen

Topic -: The God of the harvest. Pt17
Monday, August 24th.

So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send out more workers for his fields." (NLT) (Matthew 9:38).

Through the eternal sacrifice of the cross of Christ, God has made salvation available to the whole of humanity. The sin penalty hanging on the whole of humanity has been paid for, through the shed blood of Jesus. Meaning, God is not angry with man on the account of sin. The sin of the whole of humanity has been forgiven but not everyone is saved yet. This is why the Lord in charge of the harvest has requested to send more workers into the harvest field.

Take note: everyone in Christ ought to be a worker in the harvest field of God. But not everyone has made themselves available for the use of God for soul winning. God designed our place of influence as our beginning place of soul winning. Here comes the eternal request of God to the saints of the Lord Jesus. Isaiah 6:8 says, "Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to my people? Who will go for us?" And I said, "Lord, I'll go! Send me."

The Lord of the harvest of souls in the world of science and technology is in need of workers (believers) to send to unsaved souls who are in the world of science and technology. The call of God for workers goes across all endeavors of men. God is in need of workers. This will lead us to considering the role of believers in soul winning. It's important to know that, salvation was obtained by the man Jesus Christ. In the same light, the announcement of salvation to unsaved men is the sole responsibility of saved men.

Galatians 3:19 says, "Well then, why was the law given? It was given to show people how guilty they are. But this system of law was to last only until the coming of the child to whom God's promise was made. And there is this further difference. God gave his laws to angels to give to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the people." The law of Moses was delivered to Moses through the hands of an angel. But when it comes to the announcement of eternal salvation; God is dependent on saved men for the announcement of eternal salvation.

Yes, God is dependent on saved men to announce the gospel of Christ to unsaved men. It's important to know that, right from the beginning when God created the heaven and the earth; there is no place in the Bible where God created any other thing by his direct spoken word. The moment God created man, God made man to be his spoke personnel. This will tell you why God is so much in need of workers in the field of his harvest. In the next part of these series, we will look at how saved men are instructed to carry out the work of soul winning.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus, I submit my will to the leading of the Holy Spirit to your harvest field. I declare that your word in my mouth is producing the required result. Souls are saved anytime that I preach the gospel of Christ. My life is decorated with glory and honor. Amen.

Topic -::The God of the harvest. Pt16
Sunday, August 23rd.

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest (Matthew 9:38).

We have looked at the medium of salvation. In today's teaching, we shall be considering the role of God in the salvation of man from eternal condemnation. Hebrews 5:4 says, "And no one can become a high priest simply because he wants such an honor. He has to be called by God for this work, just as Aaron was. (NLT)" It's important to know that, no one can take the honor/pride of salvation by his/her own power.

God is the author and finisher of man's salvation. God began the process of salvation in a promissory note and obtained salvation as the sacrificial lamb. 2 Corinthians 5:19 says, "For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others. (NLT)" The effort of man could never obtain salvation for man. In fact, man is helpless in saving himself from the domain of darkness.

Let's see a beautiful scenario which took place in the scripture, that shows us the limitations of man in saving his/her self from the condemnation of sin. Amos 4:10-11 says, "I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew S***m and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD."

The very plagues that made the Egyptians to let the Israelites gain their freedom were done to the Israelites but yet the Israelites refused to repent and turn over to God. This shows us that, sin nature can't be advised out of man. Sin nature can't be legislated out of man with rules and regulations. Sin nature demands a required price to be paid. As a result of the limitation of man in saving his/her self from sin; hear what God said. Amos 4:12 says, "Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel."

Take note: prepare to meet your God in the above verse of Scripture doesn't mean God brings punishment upon man because of man's sin. When God showed up, it was God in Christ reconciling man to himself on the cross and henceforth not counting the sin of man against man. What rules and regulations couldn't do, the cross of Christ settled it for man once and for all. The role of God in the salvation of man is that, God is the author and finisher of man's salvation from eternal condemnation. For this course, we who have believed the gospel are instructed to go tell the people of the world about the provision of God's salvation for them.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus, I'm grateful for the price you paid for my redemption. I'm free eternally from the hold of sin. I'm dead to sin. I'm dead to wrong doings. I'm alive to eternal life. I'm alive to righteousness. My life is beautiful in and outside of the city. The gospel of Christ prospers in my hand. Amen.

Topic -: The God of the harvest. Pt15th.

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up (Matthew 4:16).

John 8:12 says, "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." Jesus Christ is the light of the world. Meaning, without Jesus Christ; the world is indeed in a great darkness. Take for instance, the entire world were perplexed during the outbreak of corona virus.

The nations that seem to have good health care system were brought to a state of confusion with the outbreak of corona virus. This shows us the limitation of the various kinds of light that a great number of people has based their lives on. It's important to know that, any kind of light that is subject to time is a failing light. Economical light is a failing light. Technological light is a failing light. The light of science is a failing light. Jesus Christ is the only great light that shines beyond the realm of time and space.

For this course, God gave us the great commission. The great commission is the instruction to take the light of Christ to people who are in darkness. Acts 26:18 says, "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." The fellow who is not in Christ is in gross darkness. They may not know it so but you that is reading this devotional; you should be aware of it.

Satan is in control of every fellow who is without Christ. You may ask: what about people who are living a decent life, without doing bad things? John 12:46 says, "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness." Firstly, you need to know that every man/woman from the lineage of Adam is born into darkness. Secondly, there is no decent life aside Jesus Christ.

A life lived under the control of Satan can never be a decent life. A decent life is the life lived for the interest of God. Again and again, we have to examine who we are living our lives for. 1 John 1:4-5 says, "And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." God is light and in God, there is no darkness at all. To know God is to accept the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus, I believe that you are the only great light. I condition my heart to long for your interest only. In the name of Jesus, I will not fail in fulfilling my purpose for your kingdom as I journey on this earth. Amen.

Topic -: The God of the harvest. 14th

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (2 Corinthian 4:4).

In consideration of the question of why there is a need for the whole of humanity to believe in the gospel. In Acts 4:12, we are told that, there is no salvation in any other name, except the name of Jesus. Meaning, it doesn't matter how sincere and moral a religious set may be, if Jesus Christ is not the center focus of eternal safety for such a religious set; they are condemned already.

Romans 5:12 says, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." The above verse of scripture is so instructive as to why, there is a need for the whole of humanity to believe the gospel. It is vital to know that, sin problem and the consequences of sin are universal.

But here is the good news, God provided a universal cure for sin problem. 1John 2:1-2 says, "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." Jesus Christ is the cure for sin problem.

The cure for sin problem is not morality. In case you are thinking: what if somebody didn't commit any personal sin, does he/she still need to believe in Jesus to be eternally save? The answer is yes. Romans 5:18 says, "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."

You can see from the above verse of scripture that, when Adam disobeyed God in the beginning, judgment came upon the whole of humanity unborn to condemnation. This I say, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only cure for the judgment that came upon all men, through the disobedience of Adam. In the next part of this teaching, we will consider what the gospel is not.

Topic -: The God of the harvest. Pt13

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth (Philippians 2:10).

There is no other name given to man, that can save man from eternal condemnation, except the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus preserves nations when those nations come under the name of Jesus. Everyone born of God is born into the name of Jesus. You have a legal right to use the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is the identity of the believer in the realm of the Spirit.

We are told in our opening verse that at the name of Jesus, every knee must bow, and every tongue must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This is not a promise of something that will happen in the near future, but rather it is a declaration of reality. The phrase "at the name", talks about a position. You are born into a position of influence from the moment you received the life of Christ.

In this position, we don't recognise impossibility. We are fearless in this position. We live in the realm of endless possibilities. This is the position of everyone who has received the life of Christ. Galatians 6:17 say: "From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus". There is a mark in your body that differentiates you from the natural man. The name of Jesus is that mark.

Proverbs 18:10 say: "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe". Under the Old covenant, the believers in that generation run to the name of the Lord for safety. But the man born in Christ doesn't run to the name of the Lord, you are born into the name. You operate from the position of safety.

The man in Christ doesn't come to God through the name of Jesus, you are already in the name. Now your words are met to make things happen every time you speak. Why do I use the word "met to"? It is your nature in Christ to speak like God but until you know that, you will speak like mere men. 'In the name of Jesus' is a place of authority. Be conscious of the reality of the name of Jesus.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus, I am born into the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is my secret place. I rule and reign in my sphere of influence through the name of Jesus. Life is easy for me. I win souls in every place. I declare that the gospel of Christ is prospering in my hand. Amen.

Topic -: The God of the harvest. Pt12
Tuesday, August 18th.

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest (Matthew 9:38).

Romans 10:14 says,
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" The above verse of Scripture is one verse in the Bible that always propels me for active soul winning. God wants the unsaved to be saved but the unchanging truth is that; the unsaved can't be saved unless they hear the message of salvation and believe it.

The most worrisome aspect is that, the unsaved can't be saved unless there are preachers to announce the good news. You can see why the Lord of the harvest is in need of labourers. When a generation of believers lacks the urgency of souls to be saved; what we have as believers are believers who are not obedient to the faith. For this course, the Lord of the harvest is calling the saints to awake from their sleep. In today's teaching, we shall consider one of the major reasons why a great number of believers are not soul winners.

We shall be considering the way that a man (male or female) can be saved. In our world today, we have countless numbers of religions. Each of the religions on earth proposed a way to God. For this course, a great number of believers in Christ are not convinced that Jesus is the only way to be saved. This is the reason why many are not bold to preach the gospel of Christ to the unsaved. Many actually believed that, everyone in their religion has equal access to God. You can see why many in the church today lack the willingness to reach out to the unsaved with the gospel of Christ.

Acts 4:12 says, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." The above verse of Scripture is not suggesting what may be true. The above verse of Scripture is the sum total of the only way for man to be saved. There is no other name given among men by which man can be saved except the name of Jesus. Jesus Christ is the only way to be eternally saved. There are no two ways to be saved. There is only one way to be saved. The name of Jesus is the only medium for the salvation of man.

If any in Christ still have doubts about Acts 4:12; it means such a fellow has not been established in the faith of Jesus Christ.
So, what is in the name of Jesus? 1 Corinthians 1:18 says, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." The name of Jesus is the embodiment of the cross of Christ. The name of Jesus is the embodiment of the death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and glorification of Jesus Christ. In the next part of these series, we will discuss why only the name of Jesus can give eternal salvation.

Father in the name of Jesus, I declare that my mind comprehen the riches of the glory of Christ. I live in the now reality of my identity in Christ. I walk in my path of assignment in Christ Jesus. I declare that, I will not fail in the business of soul winning. Amen.
