Moment of Realities
Topic -: The return of Christ. Pt17.
Friday, May 22nd.
Apostle O. Isaac
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come(1 Thessalonian 1:10).
Jesus Christ is coming back for a glorious church. Meaning, God is doing a very quick work for the church of Christ before the return of Christ. God is equipping the church of Christ with the accurate knowledge of Jesus Christ. And the sum total of the maturity of the church of Christ is the unity of the faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 says, "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ."
To this end, the church of Christ needs to be educated with sound doctrine about Jesus Christ. In today's teaching, we will be discussing a vital event associated with the rapture of the church of Christ. Isaiah 61:1-2 says, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn."
Take note of something said in the above verses of scripture. The spirit of God that came upon us, came on us to help us proclaim the acceptable year of our God and the day of vengeance of our God. The acceptable year of the Lord is the mercies of God that gave access to all sinners; the privilege to come back to God. 2 Corinthians 5:19 says, "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." God not imputing sin to man's account is the acceptable year of the Lord.
Hebrews 8:12 says,
"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." In the acceptable year of God, God has decided to be merciful to man's unrighteousness. Within the period of the acceptable year of the Lord is another period called the day of the vengeance of our God. The day of the vengeance of the Lord is also called the great tribulation. Matthew 24:21 says, "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." The day of the Lord's vengeance shall be a terrible moment for the inhabitants of the earth. For this course, God has commissioned the church of Christ to warn unsaved men and women to repent and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
The day of the vengeance of our God is also called in scripture: the day of Jacob's trouble. Jeremiah 30:7 says, "Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it." We have seen trying moments on the earth but none of the trying events on the earth can be compared to the reality of the day of the vengeance of the Lord. Trust me, you will not desire your enemy to go through the period of the great tribulation. But here is the good news for the saints of the Lord Jesus. Take note of the last expression in the above verse of scripture. "He shall be saved out of it." The "he" in the about scripture is referring to the church of Christ. The believers in Christ shall be saved out of the day of the vengeance of our God.
Scriptures for meditation for today: Matthew 5:14 and 2 Corinthians 5:21.
PRAYER
Father in the name of Jesus, I declare that my mind is inundated with the truth about your second coming. I am not unaware of the reality of your second coming. I make progress in the ministry of reconciliation. The word of God has full expression from me to the world of unsaved men and women. I triumph in every place. Amen.
