Welcome to the month of August Saints.
We thank God for His unfailing faithfulness, sustaining grace, and abundant mercies. Truly, "through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22–23).
As a church, every new month presents us with another opportunity to grow deeper in the knowledge of Christ. Our monthly themes are carefully selected as subsets of our yearly spiritual emphasis so that, line upon line and precept upon precept, we may be built up in God's Word and increasingly reflect the life of Christ.
This month, the Lord is calling us to "SPREAD."
Our theme is taken from the words of our risen Lord in Matthew 28:18–20, where Jesus declared:
> "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations... and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
The Great Commission is not merely a command for a select few; it is the calling of every believer. Having received the gospel, we have also received the privilege and responsibility of making Christ known.
Throughout this month, our daily devotionals and Messages in our services will take us on a Christ-centred journey through the heart of the gospel. We will discover what the gospel truly is, why the world desperately needs Christ, the power of His death and resurrection, the ministry of reconciliation, the work of the Holy Spirit in missions, the cost and joy of evangelism, and how the gospel transforms believers into mature disciples who faithfully reflect Christ.
Our prayer is that this month's study will do more than increase our knowledge. May it ignite our passion for souls, deepen our love for Jesus, strengthen our confidence in the gospel, and move each of us to become faithful witnesses wherever God has placed us.
The gospel was never intended to stop with us—it must spread through us.
As we behold Christ in His Word, may His heart become our heart, His mission become our mission, and His compassion become our compassion. May our homes, workplaces, schools, communities, and nation experience the transforming power of the gospel because we have chosen to obey His command.
I encourage every member to participate faithfully in this month's devotional readings, meditate on the Scriptures, pray earnestly for the harvest, and intentionally share Christ with someone. Let us not merely study the Great Commission; let us live it.
May this month be marked by boldness, compassion, fruitfulness, and an ever-deepening revelation of Jesus Christ.
Welcome once again to August—our month to SPREAD.
May the Lord make us faithful ambassadors of His Kingdom, and may His promise remain our confidence:
> "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:20)
Happy New Month, and God bless you abundantly!
