_*Rejolce in the Lord aiways, lwilisay it agaln: Rejolcel*_ -Phlipplans 4:4
To rejoice is to feel or show much happiness. It is an emotional feeling of excitement exhibited by men and even angels when something good happens. In Luke 15:10, the scripture tells us that there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Interestingly, there are people who rejoice in iniquity; when they see people in pain or sufering. But true love does not rejoice in iniquity (1 Cor. 13:6). You should never rejoice over the misfortune of others even if they Consider themselves your enemy. That is the Christian spirit.
The scientific benefits of joy are numerous and far-reaching, impacting both physical and mental well-being. Joyful enmotions have been linked to a stronger immune system, reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, and even increased longevity. Furthermore, joy enhances cognitive function, boosts mental resilience, and can help in coping with stress and adversity.
Little wonder that Apostle Paul, himself a prisoner in Rome at the time he wrote the epistle to the Philippi believers, urged them to rejoice as he knew both the spiritual and, perhaps, therapeutic benefits. And for emphasis, Paul insists that *"rejoicing"* should be done *"always,"* that is, in all circumstances and situations. He demonstrated what he preached because it is not easy to be rejoicing while in prison's chains.
In rejoicing, you also learn to give thanks to God because all things work for good to them that love God (Rom. 8:28). Paul enjoins Christians in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, _*"In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."*_ This kind of rejoicing or thanksgiving is not a make-belief but such that comes from a heart...
