U.S. CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION, MINISTER OF DEFENSE WORSHIPS AT CRC-N ABUJA, CALLS FOR UNITY

Members of the United States Congressional Delegation on an official visit to Nigeria worshipped on Sunday at the Christian Reformed Church- Nigeria CRC-N, Abuja.

The service was also attended by Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Retired General Christopher Musa, and members of his delegation.

Preaching during the service, the President of CRC-N, Rev. Dr Isaiah Magaji Jirapye, took his sermon text from 2 Kings 20:1–7 and spoke on the theme “The Reigning Lord Answers Prayers.”

Rev. Dr. Isaiah Jirapye Magaji, explained that just as God answered the prayers of King Hezekiah, who was gravely ill and whose nation faced a hopeless situation by restoring his health, adding 15 years to his life, and saving the nation, God would also heal Nigeria and help the country overcome its security challenges.

He described the intervention of U.S. President, Donald Trump in Nigeria’s security challenges, as well as the visit of the U.S. lawmakers, as God’s response to the prayers of Nigerians for an end to insecurity and the killing of innocent citizens.

According to him, the cries of innocent people have reached God, and divine intervention is underway.

The CRC-N President urged the Minister of Defence, Retired General Christopher Musa, to remain steadfast and courageous in ensuring that Nigeria successfully overcomes its security challenges.

He also encouraged Nigerians to walk faithfully with God, serve Him, and turn away from sin so that God would save them in times of difficulty.

In his remarks, the leader of the U.S. Congressional Delegation, Rep. Bill Huizenga, said the delegation was in Nigeria not to cause division but to promote unity, friendship, and love among the people.

Similarly, the Minister of Defence, Retired General Christopher Musa, appealed to Nigerians to remain united, noting that the enemies of the nation are relentless and determined.

He urged citizens to practice love toward one another and their neighbors.

He disclosed that several productive discussion sessions had been held with the American delegation and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Church for their continual support.
