Topic: THE MYSTERY OF TROUBLING THE WATERS

John 5:2-4 – “Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.”
Many know this story but meant very little to them. Why does the angel has to trouble the water?
LESSONS TO PICK UP FROM THE STORY
1. God is the Almighty: He can do anything using any method at all times.
- He is the Almighty; he cannot be caged in a tube.
- God is the Chairman of creation.
- He is the CEO of the universe.
- He is the defeat of Pharaoh.
- He is the disgrace of Nebuchadnezzar.
- He is the root of David
- He is the central AC in the fiery furnace with Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego.
- He is the deliverance of Daniel from the lion’s den
- He is the book of Revelations.
- He is the fourth man in the fire.
- He was the one in whose presence darkness fled away.
===> There is somebody here, the miracle that will change your destiny will happen here, in the name of Jesus
2. The Lord is the Great Physician.
===> I see somebody here, the Great Physician shall pay you a visit, and your life will not remain the same, in the name of Jesus.
3. The anointing sometimes overrules faith.
4. The ministry of angels is still relevant.
===> May violent angels from heaven, arise and pursue my pursuers, in the name of Jesus.
5. In spiritual things, you must strike when the iron is hot.
6. Inanimate objects can carry the power of God.
- Clothes can carry the anointing. Acts 19:12
- Oil can carry the anointing
- Clay can carry the anointing. John 9:6
- Saliva
- Water
Anointing is transferrable.
There is a mystery about water. Three (3) mysterious things in the Bible;
1. The Spirit
2. The WATER
3. The Blood.
The water is very important: 55 -75% of a human being is water, 80% of a baby is water and a large percentage of the earth is water.
Most of what we see now is from water according to Genesis 1:20.
Water is still the most abundant thing on earth. Water is only the natural substance that can be in three (3) states; liquid, solid and gas.
In the scripture, you found over 700 mention of water.
Scriptural Significance of Water
1. Water speaks of physical birth. Genesis 1:20
2. Water speaks of the word of God. Eph. 5:26
3. Water speaks of purification.
4. Water speaks of spiritual life.
5. Water connotes healing power.
===> There is somebody here today; the Lord will show you outstanding mercy, in the name of Jesus.
- When you put water down and begin to pray on it, you are troubling the waters.
- When you take the scripture and confess it into the water, you are troubling the water.
===> Any evil name, given to you by the enemy, shall be changed, in the name of Jesus.
There is ordinary water, there is the Living Water.
There is another water that you need more, desperately than the one in your hand. There is that water called the Holy Spirit. One of the symbols of the Holy Spirit is water.
Your human filling is a failure without the Holy Spirit filling. The Holy Spirit equips you with spiritual weapons.
Someone who will think further will discover that there is something wrong with the church today; they fight, steal, keep malice, etc. this is because something is absent; there is no correct infilling of the Holy Spirit.
WAY OUT!
1. Surrender your life to Jesus Christ.
2. Confess all your sins.
3. Ask for the power to come upon you.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Any power, assigned to make me a laughing stock, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every fe**sh power, every magic, assigned against me, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every strange voice, calling my name in the midnight, your time is up, die, in the name of Jesus.
4. The wicked, assigned against me, shall die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every remnant of the cage of my father’s house, in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every mocking problem, you are a liar, die, in the name of Jesus
7. My days of greatness, begin by fire, in the name of Jesus.
8. Owners of evil load, your time is up, carry your load, in the name of Jesus.
9. Before I leave this place, my glory killers shall die, in the name of Jesus.
10. Eaters of flesh, drinkers of blood, I am not your candidate, die, in the name of Jesus.
11. The battle, the yoke of almost there; in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
12. Serpent of the world, release my portion, in the name of Jesus.
