Topic: Blessings That Come to Us When We Walk in Love
Text: 1 Corinthians 13:1–2, 4 & 13
Introduction
Charity, they say, begins at home. Whatever you have become and however much sacrifice you have made, the greatest of all is LOVE.
1. Blessings
When you walk in love, you are blessed. You experience peace, which is evidence of God’s blessing. When we walk in love, we attract God’s blessings to ourselves.
Reference: Deuteronomy 28:1
2. Walking in Love (Matthew 5:44–45)
✓ To walk in love is to die to yourself.
✓ The best way to respond to revenge or retaliation is to keep doing good.
✓ In the journey of walking in love, allow God to fight for you. When we walk in love, we become like our Father in heaven.
✓ If you do not want to fail in life, walk in love because love always wins.
✓ Use good to overcome evil (1 John 4:18).
✓ When we walk in love, fear and torment are destroyed.
✓ When you walk in love, you walk under supernatural protection, peace, wisdom, and joy.
3. The Perfection of Our Love (Matthew 5:48)
God’s love does not discriminate.
4. We Become Replicas of Jesus Christ on Earth
To walk in love brings us into total freedom.
Reference: 1 John 4:17
✓ Wherever there is strife and offense, every evil work is present.
5. Confidence
When you walk in love, you have confidence. You speak boldly and become a blessing even in the little things you do.
✓ When we walk in love, nothing is ever too small.
✓ Our service unto God must be based on the love we have for Him.
6. Carrier of God’s Presence
You become a carrier of God’s presence when you walk in love.
Reference: John 14:23
✓ Where there is love, there is unity, power, and the presence of God.
✓ Love is a seed; when it is sown, it must produce a harvest.
✓ Do not ever become tired of walking in love.
7. Joy and Pleasure
Joy and pleasure are also benefits of walking in love.
Reference: Psalm 26:11
8. Answered Prayers
Walking in love positions you for answered prayers.
Reference: John 15:7
9. Freedom from Covetousness
The love of God restrains you from covetousness.
Reference: 1 Timothy 6:6
✓ You become satisfied with what you have and are not envious of others.
✓ If you do not have something today and God has not given it to you, then you do not need it at this time. God is still able to give you even greater things in His time.
