Sermon title: Revive Us Again: The Wind of Pentecost Is Blowing
Text: Acts 2:1-4
“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.”
Introduction
Pentecost was not just an ordinary gathering; it was a divine encounter that changed fearful men into fearless witnesses. The disciples who once hid behind closed doors suddenly became bold, powerful, and unstoppable because the wind of the Holy Spirit blew upon them.
Today, many believers are spiritually dry, tired, discouraged, and weak. Churches are full, but many hearts are empty of fire. People sing, preach, and pray, yet there is little power, passion, and transformation. But the good news is this: the same wind that blew in the upper room is still blowing today!
God is saying to His people, “You will be revived again!” The wind of Pentecost is blowing once more to awaken sleeping Christians, restore broken lives, and ignite holy fire in the Church.
1. The Wind of Pentecost Brings Spiritual Revival
Before Pentecost, the disciples were confused and fearful. But when the Holy Spirit came, revival began.
Revival is when dead hearts come alive again. It is when prayer becomes powerful, worship becomes meaningful, and souls begin to hunger for God again.
Many people today need revival:
Revival in their prayer life
Revival in their faith
Revival in their passion for holiness
Revival in their families and churches
The wind of Pentecost can breathe life into every dry situation.
In the book of Ezekiel, dry bones came back to life when the wind of God blew upon them. No matter how dry your spiritual life may seem, God can revive you again.
2. The Wind of Pentecost Gives Power
Jesus told His disciples not to begin ministry until they received power from on high.
Acts 1:8 says:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.”
The Christian life cannot be lived successfully without the power of the Holy Spirit. Human strength will fail, but the Spirit empowers believers to stand strong.
The wind of Pentecost gives:
Power over sin
Power to pray
Power to witness
Power to overcome fear
Power to endure trials
When the Holy Spirit moves, weak people become strong, fearful people become bold, and ordinary people become vessels of glory.
3. The Wind of Pentecost Produces Fire
On the day of Pentecost, tongues of fire rested upon the disciples.
Fire represents:
Purity
Passion
Power
The presence of God
Many believers once carried fire but have become cold spiritually. The fire of prayer has gone out. The fire of evangelism has disappeared. The fire for holiness has weakened.
But today, God wants to rekindle the fire again.
A church without fire becomes powerless. A believer without fire becomes vulnerable. But when the Holy Spirit ignites a person, darkness cannot resist them.
May the fire of Pentecost burn again in our hearts!
4. The Wind of Pentecost Brings Unity
Before the Holy Spirit came, the disciples were gathered together in one accord.
One of the greatest weapons of the enemy is division. Division destroys homes, churches, and relationships. But the Holy Spirit brings unity, love, and peace among believers.
When the wind of God blows:
bitterness disappears,
forgiveness flows,
love increases,
and believers work together in harmony.
Revival flourishes where unity exists.
5. The Wind of Pentecost Produces Soul Winning
After Pentecost, Peter preached with boldness, and about three thousand souls were saved in one day.
True revival always produces evangelism. When the Holy Spirit fills believers, they cannot remain silent about Jesus.
The Church must rise again with passion for souls. The world is waiting for believers who carry the fire and power of Pentecost.
Conclusion
The wind of Pentecost is blowing again today. God is calling His people out of dryness, fear, weakness, and spiritual sleep.
He wants to:
revive dead hearts,
restore lost passion,
fill believers with fresh fire,
and release power upon His Church again.
Do not resist the move of the Holy Spirit. Open your heart today and cry out:
“Lord, revive me again!”
The same Spirit that moved in the upper room is still moving today. The same fire still burns. The same power is still available.
May the wind of Pentecost blow upon your life, your family, and your church in Jesus’ name.
