YOM KIPPUR | THE DAY OF ATONEMENT
Today, we remember Yom Kippur — the Day of Atonement, the holiest day in the biblical calendar, a solemn time of repentance, reflection, fasting, and seeking God.
In the Old Testament, the Day of Atonement was the appointed time when the high priest entered the Most Holy Place to make atonement for the sins of the people.
But in Christ, we see the fulfillment of what Yom Kippur pointed toward.
“For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” — Hebrews 10:14
Jesus Christ became our perfect and everlasting atonement. His sacrifice does not merely cover sin temporarily; it provides forgiveness and reconciliation with God for those who put their faith in Him.
Therefore, let this day remind us to examine our hearts, turn away from sin, walk in repentance, and draw near to God with sincerity.
The call is still: Return to the Lord. Seek Him. Walk in holiness.
May we never take the sacrifice of Christ for granted, but continually live in the reality of His grace, mercy, and finished work.
“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” — John 1:29
