Have you ever asked yourself after gaining admission. How would life on campus look like on the first year at the university? GOODNESS AREA BSF always give you information to prepare you ahead and to make things easier for you.

So, here are a few tips on little things that will help make that slightly daunting first year easier for you.

1. SOCIALIZE FREQUENTLY. One thing you will learn through university if you haven't already is that friends won't necessarily come looking for you. Engage with positive people, converse, ask questions. It is best to start this in Freshers' Week when everyone is in the same boat and is actively looking for people to be friends with and go out with.

2. BOND WITH ROOMMATES. This doesn't mean you have to be best mates with them, but bear in mind that you are together almost 24/7 and share a kitchen/common wall. There will be times when you will be angry at one roommates for not washing up your bowl they just used or not taking care of their things, but being in their good books can prove beneficial.

3. DON'T LET GOING OUT CONSUME YOU AND YOUR MONEY. You're a university student, of course you want to be independent! But bear in mind that FINANCES are a factor, and the bars or club won't disappear. As cheap as drinks is on and out of campus might seem, all of these purchases add up and you will be left in debt.

4. LOCK YOUR FOOD AND UTENSILS AWAY. This may seem absurd to you, but in my experience, it's for the best. Just remember that most of the time your roommates won't take your food maliciously, it'll most likely be that they've just run out of sugar for their garri and decide to pop a bit of yours. By locking your food and utensils away, you save food, money, time, energy, and washing-up.
