TOPIC: OH LORD HEAR MY CRY AND SETTLE ME
TEXT: 2 Kings 4:1-7
Somebody reading this message, God will hear your cry and settle you.
The passage where we read from talked about a certain woman among the wives of the sons of the prophet.She cried unto God through Prophet Elijah, that she needs settlement.
THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CRY:
1) The Cry Of JOY
2) The Cry Of Sorrow
The Cry Of JOY Or Tears Of JOY.
In Psalms 126:1-2 (KJV: When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.)
From the background of this scripture you'll understand that the children of Isreal were shearing tears of JOY, because they least expected :- that their situation can change, that they can bounce back... why because their enemies took them to the bank of the river of Babylon and ask them to sing one of those songs that usually sing to praise their God, mocking them and asking them where is your God now? let He come and save you now, they look at their level of captivity it was as if God was no longer responding to them. On certain day God decided to show up and delivered them from the hands of their enemies, when they saw what God did, they lift up their voice and begin to cry, it was not a cry of sorrow but a cry of JOY, "who can believe that the Lord; has turn away our captivity, He has liberated us, He has settled us".
I pray for somebody reading,in this month you will shear tears of JOY, you and your family will shear tears of JOY"
Psalms 30:11 (KJV: Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;) " God is turning your crying into dancing".
(2)THE CRY OF SORROW what is sorrow?, it is the state of unhappiness, hardship, suffering and of misfortune.
In Psalms 14:2-3"How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? Verse 2, Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death"(KJV)
In Luke 6:21" Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh"(KJV)
John 16:20"Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy"(KJV)
Revelation 21:4" And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away"(KJV)
I stand on this divine word of God, and cancel whatever that will make you to cry this year, the Lord will wipe away tears from your life. He will usher you into your era of JOY in the name of Jesus.Amen!!
WHAT MADE THE WOMAN TO CRIED?
From our text, the Bible says the woman cried, what made Her to cry?
1) She Was Depressed
2)Hardship in the Family.
3) She was in bo***ge, a situation where she could not make decisions for Herself and Her family... The creditor was asking for Her two sons and she could not say no.
4) Her husband was dead.
5) Debt in Her family.
Whatever situation that has made you to shear tears secretly, God will answer you openly, He will takeaway hardship, He will settle every of your debt, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
NB: Dispite what she was going through,yet she held firmly unto God.
"Do not allow you situations and your challenges to keep you far away from God, rather it should draw you closer to God. So many people these days go ahead looking for alternatives.
If God has not help you,there is no where you can get help. You can only obtain help from Men when God has helped you"
Isaiah 41:10" Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (KJV)
If God have not favour you,there is no way you can be favour by men,you get favour from me when God has favoured you.God have to settle you first before men can settle you. The woman need help but, she refused run to her family, relations, friends, or loan companies. Instead of man,She ran to God.
Psalms 121:1 " I will lift up mine eyes unto the lord,from where cometh my help,My help cometh from the Lord" hallelujah!!
Somebody reading,God must help and settle you this year.
THE CONFUSED QUESTIONS ELISHA ASKED.
1) What do you want me to do for you?
2) What do you have? .. She said I have nothing except a little jar of oil. sometimes the little you have is what God is looking for to settle you. Do not despise the days of little beginnings.
Elisha said go home.. instructing Her..
1) Go home
2) When you get home borrow as many vessel as you can.
3) Lock yourself in with your two sons and fill all the vessel with the oil.
The woman obeyed the word of Elisha and the oil never dried until she filled all the vessel, and she told Elisha after obeying and He said go and sell pay up your debt and take care of yourself and sons.
NB: Obedience to divine instructions connect you to divine settlement and overflow. If you don't have any divine instructions you are holding unto,you will have nothing to hold in life. For you to be settled you must obey divine instruction.
In Exodus 13 and 14; the Lord said to Isreal stand still and they stood.It was an instruction. For obeying it, He said to them the Egyptians they see today they shall see no more.
CONCLUSION.
Where your obedience stop,that is where God Work stop in your life.A man who does not leave by instructions,will have nothing to show and nothing to control.
If you obey divine instruction today God shall settle you.
