Marriage is not the problem. The people in it are.
We often pray for a successful marriage, but are we willing to become the kind of people who can build one?
A godly marriage requires more than love and compatibility. It requires two people who are submitted to the Holy Spirit, committed to God’s Word, willing to grow, forgive, communicate, and choose God even when it’s difficult.
The health of a marriage is greatly influenced by the health of the people in it.
So before we ask, “How do I find the right person?” maybe we should also ask, “Am I becoming the right person?”
Because when people allow God to work on them, they give their marriage a better foundation to thrive.
