*STRONG WARNING TO COUPLES*

The devil is very much aware that marriage is an institution created by God.

He is also aware of the fact that a house built on a solid foundation will hardly collapse.

There is this common adage that says: together we stand, divided we fall.

There are things I will like us to pay attention to in our marriages:

You are from different backgrounds, raised by different parents, grew up from different environment. This should let you know that you need a long rope of patience to live with your spouse.

You will have to discover him or her, infact some couples are still discovering new things after several years of marriage. This is not enough reason for divorce.

She can't speak good English after several years of marriage. I need to move forward. That's hiding under the pretence of adultery.

She can be upgraded through your commitment to her learning. Enrol her in special school, encourage her by studying with her. She will get better. Don't divorce her.

I and my family made you. That is a threat to the personality of the man. It can demoralize his emotion and reasoning. He may start living with you in pretence.

Dear lady, if you and your family were not available for God to use, He would have used someone else.

Our indifferences is creating a lot of rooms for divorce.

But little did you know that the devil only wants to make you more miserable if you settle for divorce. Divorce is not the answer, work on your attitude because there is no perfect human being. We are all working towards perfection. Be mature.

There is a saying that, when two elephants are fighting, the grasses suffer. The innocent children will suffer from the mistakes of your divorce.

Please, please and please. Work out your marriage. When each party play his/her role without waiting for the other. Things will be better than when both parties neglect their responsibilities.

Remember, marriage is for matured men, not boys. Boys run away from challenges while matured men face it until victory is sure.

Boys are runners while matured men stay in marriage with confidence.

Matured men lead by examples while boys push blame on their spouse for every failure or challenges.

Let us together work out our marriages. It will make our world a better place and will also create an atmosphere of love, care and acceptance for our children.

TOPIC: SURPLUS IN THE MIDST OF DIFFICULTY (PART 1)

TEXT: GENESIS 26:1,12

"1 There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar.
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him." (NKJV)

The God we serve is full of revelation in mysterious ways. This is why the scripture says that his ways are different from our ways and his plans from our plans.

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:9; NKJV).

Sometimes, he can decide to go in a way that man will see it as difficult but to God, it's a way that is full of blessing.

There was famine in the land yet, he instructed Isaac to stay where there was famine and not run to Egypt the way others ran. So Isaac listened to God's instructions, stayed in the land where there was famine, sown there and reaped in the same year an hundred fold harvest to the extent that he became exceedingly wealthy and people in the neighborhood envied him.

Sometimes, the open doors God wants to take us through might be in the midst of difficulty and he still wants us to go through it to have what he wants us to enjoy in life.
We need to know that not all difficulties are evil or satanic traps, but some are God's blessing in disguise.
So, there is need for us to descern or recognize it in order not to miss the blessing God have for us.

We will look at few things God wants us to learn how to do in the midst of difficulty when he wants to bring open doors for us.

1. Stretch Our Faith: Luke 9:16-17;

"16 Jesus took the five loaves and two pieces of fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, He kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people.
17 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!
(Luke 9 :16-17; NLT).

Here in the scripture above, Christ Jesus taught his disciples how to stretch their faith in the midst of difficulty.
There was no food for the people to eat in the wilderness yet, he fed them with five loaves of bread and two fishes.

The Lord wants us to do the same thing today. Meaning, God did not want us to give up in the midst of difficulty but to see possibility in every difficulty.
It is when we refuse to give up to tough situation, that is when tough situation will give way for our blessing.
You must always have this in your mind that tough situation do not last but tough people do.

2. Love Him More: Mark 12:30

"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment."
(NKJV).

In the midst of difficulty at times, God is looking at how much we love him, but is in the midst of all these that most of us fail in our love towards God.
As believers in Christ, we are not to allow whatever we are going through to determine our love for God, but rather, we are to love God at all times.

Our true love for God should go beyond what we want from him. It should be a channel towards what we want to do for him and how he gave himself for us all.
It is in this our genuine Love for God that we will learn obedience and our obedience to him will determine how far we go in life.

Therefore beloved, when we obey God's instructions in love, we will have the surplus of our heart desire regardless of any difficulty that sorrounds our lives.

I pray for you today that you will not bow your head in difficulty but that you will always raise it up in surplus.

TOPIC: SIGN OF A PROFITABLE MARRIAGE (PART 1)

TEXT: GENESIS 2:19-25

"19 So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what He would call them, and the man chose a name for each one.
20 He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him.
21 So the lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening.
22 Then the lord God made a woman from the rib, and He brought her to the man.
23 “At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’
24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
25 Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame. (NLT).

Marriage is the coming together of a mature man and mature woman to become one mind and achieve the same purpose.

If the purpose of the man and the woman is different in the home then, they are not one or couple anymore. They will be referred to as living couple.

Another point we need to quickly establish here before we go too far is that, there are no christian marriages. There are only christians in marriage.
Meaning, marriage was not made for believers but for a man and a woman.
To buttress the point, when marriage was instituted by God, there were no christians on earth. There were only human beings (Adam and Eve) who were made in the very image of God.
So, marriage was not made for those who want to make heaven but for those who want to live together as one on the earth.

Therefore, there is nothing like your marriage will determine whether you will make heaven or not. It is not also true that the person you marry will determine your heaven.
So, it is not believers that should only be joined together in marriage.
The important thing in it is that a believer should marry a believer like him/her. While nonbeliever should marry nonbeliever. This is because of their belief.
So, nonbeliever should not marry believer because they will not understand each other well because of their lifestyles.

"12 Now, I will speak to the rest of you, though I do not have a direct command from the Lord. If a fellow believer has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to continue living with him, He must not leave her.
13 And if a believing woman has a husband who is not a believer and He is willing to continue living with her, she must not leave him.
14 For the believing wife brings holiness to her marriage, and the believing husband brings holiness to his marriage. Otherwise, your children would not be holy, but now they are holy." (1 Corin 7:12-14; NLT).

In these scriptures above, Paul Apostle referred to a man and a woman who got married as an unbeliever and later one of the couple accepted Christ Jesus.
So, the bible's stand is that the one who is a believer should not divorce the nonbeliever if he/she decided to stay in the marriage.
This is not talking about a believer getting married to an unbeliever.
So, we will be discussing within the context of Christian marriage.

However, there can still be profitable marriage in our own days if we can allow the following in our marriages.

1. Involve The Holy Spirit: 1 Corin 2:10;

"But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." (NKJV).

The reason you have to involve the Holy Spirit in your marriage for profitability is because he knows the mind of God for everything that concerns you.
Anything you commit into his hand, he will help you to search out the best for you from God and reveal them to you. This exactly is what Christ Jesus told his disciples about the person of the Holy Spirit.

"But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you." (John 14:26; NLT).

"When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future." (John 16:13; NLT).

Involving the Spirit of God to lead you in your marriage is profitable to your home.
When the Holy Spirit gets involved in your home, He will ensure there is peace in your marriage and no storm will be able to overcome your marriage.

I pray for your marriage that it will enjoy perpetual peace that no storm can silence in Jesus name.

Today, we will continue from where we stopped.

2. Be In Agreement With Your Spouse: Amos 3:3

"Can two walk together , unless they are agreed? (NKJV).

Your agreement with your spouse in your marriage has given the devil a total knock out. But whenever you disagree and you leave it to linger long, you are in a way given the devil a chance into your home.

No power on earth or in heaven that has been proven so strong to break the cord of strong agreement between husband and wife. It always make the enemy to be far from your home.

Even God testified to strong agreement between two or more people.

"5 But the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building.
6 “Look!” He said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them!"
(Gen 11:5-6; NLT).

No one, no power, no entity can stop two or more united people from achieving their purpose or aim in life.
So, it pays spouses to walk together in total agreement in their marriage.

3. Pay Attention To Each Other: Luke 10:39-42

"39 Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what He taught.
40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”
41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!
42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Attention can be defined as mental focus.
It can also be described as an action or a remark expressing of concern for interest in someone or something, especially in romantic interest.

When you give each other a quality attention, there is bound to be a strong and mutual love between both of you. The attention you give to your spouse will make him/her to believe that you care for him/her more closely.

One of the things that has been proven over the years in marriage is a strong s*x. And when this strong s*x is in place, it brings intimacy and intimacy produces unbroken attention. So, this is possible to take place in a marriage where s*x is regular.

Your woman/man needs attention regardless the age. This is one of the antidotes of marriage that usually gives the devil a technical knock out

I pray your marriage will enjoy more mega grace that will cause new wine to flow in your home in Jesus name.

TOPIC: GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR HEALTH (PART 1)

TEXT: JEREMIAH 30:17;
"For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds , ' says the Lord , 'Because they called you an outcast saying: "This is Zion; No one seeks her." (NKJV).

The plan of God for our total health is so certain and it cannot be overemphasized. God has a plan for us to remain in good and sound health for the rest of our lives. And this made God to be committed to us throughout our journey here on earth.

God never at anytime wanted us to spend the rest of our lives in sicknesses and diseases. This is why he never had any evil or unclean thought towards us. His thought towards us are pure always.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jere 29:11; NKJV).

This is why from the beginning, he made some trees as herbs for us to make use of so that we can remain in good health.
Our health should not be endured but should be enjoyed for the rest of our lives.

God went further by giving his first begotten son to die and become an atonement for our sin. And the stripes which Christ sustained on our behalf was made to cure our sins and become the healing balm for our health.

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5; NKJV).

"He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed." (1 Peter 2:24; NLT).

However, you and I have responsibilities to carry out so that we can stay healthy throughout our journey on earth.
We will be considering one of the responsibilities we need to uphold.

1. Speak Positive Words To Yourself: Prov 16:24
"Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones." (NKJV).

Let's see the way NLT put it.

"23 From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive.
24 Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." (Prov 16:23-24; NLT).

Our choice and positive words are meant to serve as healing to our body.
The words we speak are powerful and are carried out by our angel into reality. That is why our words can either mar or make us.
It is through our words that we are either justified or condemned.

"For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." (Matt 12:37; NKJV).

Beloved, learn to speak positively always, for it will certainly bring sound health to your body.

My prayer for you is that your body system will not break down. You will enjoy sound health for the rest of your life in Jesus name.

TOPIC: PROFITABLE AND FRUITFUL SEED (PART 1)

TEXT: GENESIS 8:20-22
"20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and there He sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose.
21 And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.
22 As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” (NLT).

Profitable and fruitful seed is the changing, growing and developing of a particular thing which will yield or produce more benefits.

God is always intentional and particular about seed. This is why he told Noah to keep the seed alive.

"And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female." (Gen 6:19; NKJV)

"Also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth." (Gen 7:3; NKJV).

God knows that if the seed dies, everything that has to do with the seed will die with it. God as well knew that if the seed remains, everything that has to do with the seed will forever abide.
So, there is wisdom in keeping or preserving the seed. And the bible says that "Wisdom is profitable to direct"

God knew if he should kill Adam and Eve for the sin they committed. There is nothing on earth that will continue the race (seed) of man. This was why God allowed them to die spiritually and not physically. This is why God does not support the act of terminating or wasting your seed.

When you kill or eat the seed that are meant to be preserved, in a way, you have postponed the miracle the seed would have given you, but when you preserve a seed by casting it, you have provoked the miracle God has given you to manifest physically for you.

Beloved, always channel your mind towards sowing good seed and in no time at all, you will reap it if you don't relent in what you know best to do.

I pray for you that grace to always channel your seed rightly, shall multiply in your life greatly in Jesus name.
Amen!

TOPIC: PROFITABLE AND FRUITFUL SEED (PART 2)

TEXT: GENESIS 8:20-22

The seed you give today will definitely germinate tomorrow and multiply.
Life is all about the seed you sow because a seed speaks and finds expression in any direction you channel it to.
If you channel it rightly, you will profit in it in the nearest future, but if you channel it wrongly, you will surely reap corruption.
Right seed always pave ways for the person that sow it in the future. So, you must be conscious about the seed you sow.

The seed that Noah sowed went up and became a fragrance unto God and this made Noah to enter into the covenant God has already made with him.

Paul Apostle spoke to the Galatians church about what a man sow that is what he will reap.
Paul in Galatians chapter six was not talking about sin or character but he was talking about the result they will get in sowing into both spiritual things and physical things.

He actually meant that if you sow your money into acquiring material things which is corruption, you will in return sow corruption because that thing is temporal and will not go beyond this world. However, if you sow towards kingdom things such as soul winning, you will reap what will go beyond this world which is life eternal.

The seed you sow must fall to the ground and die because if it does not die, it abides alone. If it does, it must surely yield or bring forth much fruits.

"[23] He replied to them, “Now is the time for the Son of Man to be glorified.
[24] Let me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies, because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died.
[25] “The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to me, will find true life and enjoy it forever!" ((John 12:23-25; The Passion Translation).

The only way your seed will bring forth profitable and fruitful seed is when you sow cheerfully or bountifully and not sparingly.

"6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly , and He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
7 So let each one give as He purposes in his heart , not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corin 9:6-7; NKJV).

The word "bountiful" in this passage does not mean quantity. It actually means whatever you give out of what you have with you will be considered to be either bountiful or sparingly.
This was the exact things Christ Jesus said concerning those who gave huge offering at the temple compared with the widow who gave the penny she had and that penny was all that was left with her. And it was what the widow gave that Christ considered as the biggest

Beloved, make sure the seed you give is always from a cheerful mind because it will be only one which will be acceptable before God.

I pray that your seed will go up as a good fragrance smelling each time you give it to God.

Tuesday, 5th April 2022.

TOPIC: UNIMAGINABLE OPPORTUNITIES (PART 4)

TEXT: GENESIS 41:14-16
"Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. But Joseph [first] shaved himself, changed his clothes, and made himself presentable; then he came into Pharaoh’s presence. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it; and I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream and interpret it. Joseph answered Pharaoh, It is not in me; God [not I] will give Pharaoh a [favorable] answer of peace." (AMP).

We will consider the remaining three points.

2. Opportunity To Service: Esther 2:15-17

Esther was the daughter of Abihail, who was Mordecai’s uncle. (Mordecai had adopted his younger cousin, Esther.) When it was Esther’s turn to go to the King, she accepted the advice of Hegai, the eu**ch in charge of the harem. She asked for nothing except what he suggested, and she was admired by everyone who saw her.
Esther was taken to King Xerxes at the royal palace in early winter of the seventh year of his reign. And the king loved Esther more than any of the other young women. He was so delighted with her that he set the royal crown on her head and declared her queen instead of Vashti." (NLT)

Service both in secular and ministry are rare opportunities that when being maximised, it will go a long way in one's life.
This kind of opportunity is one of the opportunities that can shoot us to limelight if handled with serious mind and commitment.

There are lots of people that seek for an opportunity to serve and they are yet to have one. They may not be privileged to be accepted or may not be in a welcome and peaceful environment which we may find ourselves today.

When we render good services as an opportunity in a conducive atmosphere, it brings favour that will connect you to influential people in and beyond our environment. And when this takes place, we can experience some lifting that our strength can never produce for us early in life.

So, whenever you have a privilege to serve, ensure you serve with all humility and loyalty. Don't be arrogant and disobedient when given opportunity to serve.

3. Opportunity To Lead: Luke 13:13-15

"You call Me the Teacher (Master) and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought [it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it] to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you this as an example, so that you should do [in your turn] what I have done to you." (AMP)

Leading people to fulfil their destiny is another dimension of opportunity.
Leadership in any capacity is not a right but a great privilege. The reason is because there are many that are better than you but are not given leadership platform. So, the leadership given to you does not make you better than others that are not given the opportunity.

"I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time." (Eccl 9:11; NLT).

Your faithfulness in leading well will definitely give you a higher opportunity which can in turn make people to recognise you globally.
Opportunity is not about being better than others. It's about God's grace speaking for you.

4. Opportunity To Be Favoured: Daniel 1:4
"Youths without blemish, well-favored in appearance and skillful in all wisdom, discernment, and understanding, apt in learning knowledge, competent to stand and serve in the king’s palace—and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans." (AMP).

There are some people that whenever opportunity is made available to them, they are always favoured.
Even when a crowd gathers and it is just a single person they want to give something to, favour will just single them out.

The four Hebrew children; Daniel, Meshack, Shadrack and Abednego were favoured among their equals even in a strange land.
They were declared ten times better than others when opportunity showed up for them.
No matter how difficult the situation may be, opportunity to favour them will just emerge suddenly. The reason is because most opportunities are always made available for them.

May God's grace upon your life always showcase you for unimaginable opportunities in Jesus name.

TOPIC: REKINDLE THE POWER IN YOU (PART 3).

TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:20
" Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us," (ESV).

The power at work in us is the power of the Holy Spirit. This power that was given to us at salvation is to keep us empowered on earth and to defend us against all activities of the devil that may want to confront us. It is therefore our responsibilities to keep the power active in us.

We will be considering the third point that will help us to rekindle the power at work in us.

3. Communion With The Holy Spirit: 2 Corin 13:14
"The grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (so be it)." (AMP).

To have communion with the Holy Spirit means:
i. To communicate together: This implies we must be having conversation with the Holy Spirit on daily basis. It will in a way stir up the power in us.

ii. To have fellowship:
We don't pray to the Holy Spirit, but we simply have fellowship with Him. And to fellowship together means to rob mind together.
When we rob mind with the Holy Spirit, we know Him better and relate with Him as a friend.

iii. To share together:
This is possible by pouring out our mind to the Holy Spirit and He will in return pour out His mind to us. By doing this, we will know what He wants us to do and what He does not want us to do. This is the way the Holy Spirit can help us to carry our burden in the journey of life.

iv. To participate with: This means to be in partnership with each other.
The Holy Spirit is our senior partner. He is such a partner who is stronger than our wives or husband. And when we understand this, it will be of help to us as we run the race here on earth.

v. To have intimacy: This means deep closeness with the Holy Spirit.
Until we have intimacy with the Holy Spirit, we can't have intimacy with Christ. It is by doing this that the Holy Spirit will tell us more about Christ. And when we know more about Christ Jesus then, we will be more like Him as we relate with ourselves and nonbelievers.

Therefore beloved, we must understand that our communion with the Holy Spirit cannot be overemphasised. The earlier we know this, the better it will help us to run the race of life smoothly. And when this is achieved, we will be in charge and no power of hell will be able to rob shoulder with us.

I pray that the power at work in you will manifest greatly to the extent that people around you will have no choice than to surrender to Christ in you.
