Coming back to the book of Exodus Chapter 1, I noticed something that I hadn't fully grasped before.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIn ๐—˜๐˜…๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐Ÿญ:๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ-๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฏ, it mentions how a new Pharaoh who didn't know Joseph came into power. He saw how great and mighty Israel had become, and he immediately feared that one day, they could stand against Egypt with their numbers if a war broke out between Egypt and other countries.

And because of that fear, the Israelites were subjected to slavery.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽBut even though the Israelites were tortured as slaves, they continued to grow in numbers and in strength. and the Egyptians became more afraid of them.

This is another classic episode of Fear, like my previous post with Saul.
โ€Ž
What struck me deeply was that

This speaks volumes.

โ€ŽAnd the irony is that Egypt was once Israelโ€™s helper.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAnother example that I want to use is Laban, Jacob's Uncle. Laban took Jacob in when he needed help, and Jacob also helped in tending to his flocks faithfully.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAs time passed and Jacob was taking care of Laban's livestock as payment for Rachel's hand in marriage, Laban noticed that God was blessing and multiplying his household because of Jacob. Even through divination (since Laban worshipped idols), he realized that Jacob carried Godโ€™s blessing.

Instead of being grateful, Laban became manipulative.

Laban then decided to cheat Jacob so that he could work an extra seven years, hoping to continue benefitting from Jacob's blessing.
โ€Ž
At first glance, the actions of Egypt and Laban may not immediately look like fear. But it was fear nonetheless.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽFear can make one's helper become one's oppressor. And honestly, that is so sad.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽWhat if Egypt continued to help Israel? Israel would have been one of their greatest allies, but instead became one of their greatest enemies.

The same goes for Laban and Jacob.

Someone you could have called out to others as your helpers during your toughest times becomes a painful lesson to warn others about.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAnd please, I am not speaking to only unbelievers because even believers tend to fall into this pattern.
โ€Ž
Sometimes we become uncomfortable when we see someone we once helped being elevated by God. Instead of celebrating them, insecurity and fear begin to creep in.

Let us not become so fearful that we begin to oppress the very person we once helped simply because God is blessing them.

A personโ€™s growth is not your downfall. God blessing another person does not reduce His ability to bless you as well.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAlways be a blessing to others and not a lesson. โ€ŽYour heavenly father, who watches you help others, will also be your help.

A vision is a picture of what you want to accomplish, but initiating this vision makes the difference between a plan and a result. In other words, vision is a desire, while initiative gets it accomplished.

Leaders donโ€™t just dream; they awaken and act on their dreams. They donโ€™t wait for the future to come; they create it.

Here are the key principles of Initiative:
- Initiative is the key to accomplishment
- Initiative is the power of momentum
- Initiative is the manifestation of decision

To become the leader that you were born to be, you must cultivate the spirit of initiative. Donโ€™t wait for others to do what you know you should do.

A goal is a point of measure for progress toward and ultimate purpose. Your life depends on the goals you set, either consciously or sub-consciously.

Where you end up in life is a result of the goals that you set or did not set for your life. The more successful you become, the more people will compete for your time, so you have to guard your goals even more carefully.

- Goals separates achievers from dreamers.
- Goal setting is the art of discipline.
- Goals are the skeleton of the plan.
- Goals give specifics to the plan.

18/04/2026

โ€ŽBefore you can take down a giant, you must first defeat the lions and bears before you.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž What does this analogy mean?
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIโ€™m taking this from the story of David. When he faced the giant, the confidence and faith he brought into that battle were not empty or untested.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIt was a faith that had already been tested and proven. Before David ever stood before Goliath, he had already defeated lions and bears that came to attack his sheep.
โ€Ž
1 Samuel 17:37
โ€œThe Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.โ€
โ€Ž
โ€ŽHe said it himself: the same God who helped him overcome those earlier battles would also give him victory over the giant.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽSo understand this:
โ€Ž
โ€ŽBefore a challenge as big as a giant comes before you, for example, raising money for a business; it will often first appear as lions and bears, like handling smaller financial needs or responsibilities.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIf you run from those smaller challenges, you wonโ€™t build the strength and confidence needed to face the bigger ones. God uses smaller battles to prepare you for greater ones.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž Luke 16:10
โ€œWhoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with muchโ€ฆโ€
โ€Ž
โ€ŽEvery small victory is training.
โ€ŽEvery challenge is preparation.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAs long as you are journeying through life, challenges will come.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAnd as you grow, something powerful happens:
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe giants you once feared will begin to look like ants.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž Zechariah 4:10
โ€œDo not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work beginโ€ฆโ€
โ€Ž
โ€ŽSo always value the small beginnings.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽDonโ€™t ignore them.
โ€ŽDonโ€™t run from them.
โ€ŽDonโ€™t underestimate them.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽBecause those โ€œlions and bearsโ€ are building the faith, strength, and experience you will need when your โ€œgiantโ€ shows up.
โ€Ž
Happy Weekend and โ€ŽGod bless you.
โ€Ž

I recently started reading 1 Samuel again, and as I read about King Saul, I saw him in a new light.

The king whom many of us have judged until now because of the verse: โ€œ๐—ข๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ.โ€ A person we once saw as simply a disobedient king actually has a lot more to him.

He had one key weakness that caused the spiraling downfall of his lineage and his rejection as king.

And this weakness is called

Fear is a very dangerous weakness that can bring people down, and unfortunately, King Saul was a victim of his fears.

The first one was subtle and not easy to notice. In fact, it was even relatable to me.

It began in ๐Ÿญ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐—น ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ:๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿญโ€“๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฏ.

When it was time for Samuel to announce the new king (Saul), he was nowhere to be found. He had gone into hiding, and God had to reveal his location to Samuel๐Ÿ˜‚.

I could instantly relate to that attitude because it is normal to feel afraid, especially as the very first king of Israel.

A lot of us can relate to this.

Perhaps you were placed in a leadership position in school.
You were made a manager.
Or suddenly, you were put in a position where others look up to you.

You begin to question yourself:

Even if the Spirit of God comes upon you, fear can still creep in.

This slight show of fear was only a teaser of the greater ones that would come next.

The second mistake was more serious

This happened in

Saul was told to wait for seven days for Samuel to come and offer a sacrifice to the Lord before the battle against the Philistines. He had three thousand men with him.

Seven days passed, and Samuel did not arrive. The men began to tremble with fear as the Philistines drew closer, and some of them started leaving.

Because of this, Saul took matters into his own hands and offered the sacrifice himself. Immediately after he finished, Samuel arrived.

When Samuel questioned him, Saulโ€™s first words were: โ€œ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—บ๐—ฒ, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฑ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ.โ€

He saw people leaving and became afraid.

He began to think that strength was in the number of people he had, forgetting that God was the key factor in winning the battle.

We go through situations like this, especially when it comes to doing Godโ€™s work.

When things donโ€™t go as plannedโ€ฆ
When people donโ€™t perform wellโ€ฆ
When people leave at the moment we need them mostโ€ฆ

Fear can push us into making rash decisions.

And Saul was a victim of that.

The irony is this:

Even though he feared his men wouldnโ€™t be enough, it only took two people; his son Jonathan and his armor-bearer, to throw the entire Philistine camp into confusion.

That realization hit me deeply.

If he had just waited a little longer, it wouldnโ€™t have mattered how many people left.

Two people were enough to shake an army of over thirty thousand.

And that mistake cost him his dynasty.

This happened in 1 Samuel 15. Saul was commanded to completely destroy a nation, including their livestock, because of their opposition to Israel.

He won the battle but he spared the king and kept the best livestock. This was the final act that led to his rejection.

When Samuel confronted him, Saul said:

Again,

He prioritized the desires of his men over the command of God.

And he paid the price.

This is one of the realities of being a Christian leader:

Godโ€™s command must come first; before the opinions, expectations, or pressures of people. There is no compromise.

In general, before his downward spiral, before the jealousy and murderous intent toward David; King Saul was actually a kind man. But he was fearful of the responsibility given to him.

And that fear eventually cost him everything.

This realization was honestly one of the saddest moments for me.

Here is the lesson for us:

Let us not give in to fear, no matter the situation we find ourselves in, so that we donโ€™t make rash decisions that lead us into sin; simply because we are worried about what people might think.

Choose obedience over fear.

God bless you.

The wealthiest spot on this planet is not the oil fields of Iraq or Saudi Arabia, Neither is it the gold and diamond mines of South Africa, the uranium mines of the Soviet Union, or the silver mines of Africa.

Though it may surprise you, the richest deposits on our planet lie just a few blocks from your house. They rest in your local cemetery or graveyard.

Buried beneath the soil within the walls of those sacred grounds are dreams that never came to pass songs that were never sung, books that were never written, paintings that never filled a canvas, ideas that were never shared, visions that never became reality, inventions that were never designed, plans that never went beyond the drawing board of the mind, and purposes that were never fulfilled.

Our graveyards are filled with potential that remained potential.

What a tragedy!

As I walk the streets of our cities, my heart frequently weeps as I encounter and observe the wasted, broken, disoriented lives of individuals who, years before, were talented, intelligent, apiring high school classmates. Dur. ing their youth they had dreams, desires, plans, and aspirations.

Today they are lost in a maze of substance abuse, alcoholism, purposelessness, and poorly choser friends Their lives are aimless. their decisions haphazard. This enormous tragedy saddens me. What could have been has become what should have been.

The wealth of dreams has been dashed into the poverty of discouragement. Only a minute percentage of the five billion people on this planet will experience a significant portion of their true potential.

Are you a candidate for contributing to the wealth of the cemetery?

Ask yourself the following questions:

Who am I?

Why am I here?

How much potential do I have?

What am I capable of doing?

By what criteria should I measure my ability?

Who sets the standards?

By what process can I maximize my ability?

What are my limitations?

Within the answers to these questions lies the key to a fulfilled, effective life.

One of the greatest tragedies in life is to watch potential die untapped. Many potentially great men and women never realize their potential because they do not understand the nature and concept of the potential principle. As God has revealed to me the nature of potential, I have received a burden to teach others what I have learned

There's a wealth of potential in you. My purpose is to help you understand that potential and get it out. You must decide if you are going to rob the world or bless it with the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you.

You are more than what you have done.
