“Do you know that when a person loses a limb, like a leg or an arm, the pain doesn’t always stop there?”
This condition is called phantom limb pain.
It’s when someone still feels pain, movement, or even shaking in a part of the body that has been amputated.
But why does this happen?
Because the brain still remembers that limb.
Even though the leg is no longer there, the nerves and the brain’s “body map” are still active. So the brain keeps sending and receiving signals as if the limb is still present, sometimes causing severe pain or strange sensations.
Imagine feeling pain in a leg that is no longer there…
That’s what some people live with every day after amputation.
And this is why we should be grateful.
Grateful for our health.
Grateful for our ability to walk, run, and move freely without pain.
Grateful for the body parts we often take for granted.
Because health is not just about being alive, it’s about being able to live without constant pain.
So take care of your health.
Protect your body.
Don’t wait until something is gone before you appreciate it.
