Sunday Service
Vessel: Pst. Dr. Imaowaji M. Felix
Topic: Serving Without Excuses
Text: Romans 12:11
The service centered on the call for believers to serve God passionately, diligently, and wholeheartedly without giving excuses. Drawing from Romans 12:11, the man of God emphasized that every assignment given to us by God should be carried out honorably and with zeal. God is not pleased with lukewarmness or careless service. Rather, He desires that His children remain fervent in spirit, committed to His work, and constantly available for kingdom advancement. Whatever we find ourselves doing in the house of God should reflect excellence, sincerity, humility, and love for Christ.
It was further explained that genuine service to God teaches believers how to surrender completely to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Through service, God molds character, builds spiritual strength, and prepares His people for greater assignments. Serving God without excuses means obeying Him promptly whenever He calls, remaining faithful even when it is inconvenient, and making sacrificial commitments for the growth of God’s kingdom. True service demands the dedication of our lives, time, energy, talents, and resources unto God. Kingdom service is not something to be done casually but with deep passion and spiritual responsibility.
The message also highlighted some common excuses people give for not serving God effectively. Many feel inadequate or unqualified, forgetting that God qualifies those He calls. Others become discouraged because of challenges, criticism, or unanswered expectations. Some fall into laziness and spiritual carelessness, gradually losing their hunger and commitment toward the things of God. However, believers were reminded that excuses cannot replace obedience. God is searching for willing vessels who will make themselves available despite weaknesses or difficulties.
A life without service lacks fulfillment in the kingdom.
