*RHEMA DAILY DEVOTIONAL*
*DATE: MONDAY 5TH AUGUST, 2024*
*THEME: GRATITUDE*
*TOPIC: Giving Thanks in All Circumstances*

*Devotional Scripture:*
"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

*Devotional*
Giving thanks is a fundamental aspect of the Christian life. It is a demonstration of our gratitude to God for His goodness and mercy towards us. The Bible instructs us to give thanks in all circumstances, not just when things are going well.

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." - Psalm 100:4 (KJV)

We must cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving, even in the midst of challenges. This is because God is always working for our good, even when we cannot see it.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28 (KJV)

Let us make a conscious effort to give thanks in all circumstances, knowing that this is the will of God for us.

*ACTION POINT*
Take time to reflect on the things you are grateful for today. Write them down and thank God for each one.

*PRAYER*
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your goodness and mercy towards me. Help me to cultivate a spirit of gratitude, even in the midst of challenges. I pray that I will always give thanks in all circumstances, knowing that this is your will for me. Amen.

*TOPIC: THE HOME OF GOD IN THE HEART OF MAN*

*TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:17, JOHN 14:23*
_"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,"_
_"Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."_

Beloved in Christ,

Today, let us explore the incredible truth that God desires to make His home in the heart of man. In *Ephesians 3:17,* Paul prays that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. And in *John 14:23,* Jesus says, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him."

God's desire is not just to visit us or bless us, but to reside within us. He wants to make our hearts His abode, His dwelling place. This is the essence of Christianity - a living, breathing relationship with God, where He lives in us and we live in Him.

But what does this mean practically? It means that our hearts become the temple of the Holy Spirit, where God's presence dwells. It means that our thoughts, words, and actions are influenced by His love and grace. It means that we are no longer alone, but God is with us always.

As we open our hearts to God, He transforms us from the inside out. He fills us with His love, His peace, and His joy. He gives us a new identity, a new purpose, and a new destiny.

Let us invite God to make His home in our hearts today. Let us surrender our lives to Him, and welcome His presence. As we do, we will experience the joy of His abiding presence, and the world will see the glory of God shining through us.

*PRAYER*
May God's grace prepare our hearts to be His dwelling place, and may we be a temple where He is glorified. *Amen.*

*TOPIC: THE DIMENSIONS OF GOD'S LOVE*

*TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:17-19*
_"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge."_

THE DIMENSIONS of the Love of Christ! It is broad as humanity, "for God so loved the world"; the length God's love had no date of origin, and shall have none of conclusion. God is Love, it continueth ever, indissoluble, unchangeable, a perpetual present tense. Its height—as the Flood out-topped the highest mountains, so that Love covers our highest sins. It is as high as the heaven above the earth. Its depth—Christ our Lord descended into the lowest before He rose to the highest. He has touched the bottomless pit of our sin and misery, sorrow and need. However low your fall, or lowly your lot, the everlasting arms of His love are always underneath.
The Apostle talks by hyperbole, when he prays that we may attain to a knowledge of the knowledge-surpassing love of Christ. We cannot gauge Christ's love, but we can enjoy it. Probably the only way to know the love of Christ is to begin to show it. The emotionalist, who is easily affected by appeals to the senses, does not know it; the theorist or rhapsodist does not know it, but the soul that endeavours to show the love of Christ, knows it. As Christ's love through you broadens, lengthens, deepens, heightens, you will know the love of Christ, not intellectually, but experimentally (1Jn_4:11, 1Jn_4:12; 1Jn_4:20-21).
But you say, "there are people in my life whom I cannot love." Granted, but you must distinguish between love and the emotion or feeling of love. You may not be able to feel love at the outset, but you can be willing to be the channel of Christ's love. I cannot love, but Christ is in me, and He can. Is it too much to ask that all this should be realized in ourselves and in others? No, because God is already at work within us by His Holy Spirit, and He is able to do infinitely beyond all our highest requests or thoughts. Ask your furthest, think your highest, and the Divine Love is always infinitely in advance.

*PRAYER*
We thank Thee, O God, for the infinite love which Thou hast given us in Jesus Christ. We have no measure for its heights and depths, its breadths and lengths. Teach us to know more because we love you Lord. AMEN.

Topic: *OBEDIENCE*

Text: *John 12:46*
_"I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness."_

THE LIGHT of Christ is always distinguishable because it means the deepest impression of what is right, the clearest conviction of the will of God. Everywhere men are asking how they may come to know Christ, and there is but one answer: believe that He loves you, that He died on the Cross to save you, that He is prompting you by His Spirit to follow every perception and longing for a better and holier life.
How different is this teaching from that of the world around! There we are bidden to know before we dare entrust our lives to any leader, whatever be his fair speeches and promises; but Christ bids us obey the first glimmer of light breaking on us, and He undertakes that if we do, we shall not walk in darkness. Disobedience, like scales, veils Christ from us; whilst obedience leads us into His very presence. The judgment always becomes just, and the vision clear, when we deny ourselves to follow whatsoever things are lovely, true, pure, just, and of good report.
It may be that as you read these lines there is some duty you shirk, some cross you refuse to lift, some act from which you flinch. Though you may not have directly associated it with Christ, yet you cannot doubt that it is His will for you, and that in the doing He will be pleased. It is useless to try to know Him until that nearest act of obedience is wrought. Men can never know what the mighty forces of Nature will do for them until they set themselves to obey, in the minutest detail, its laws. And it is so in relation to Christ and the laws of the spiritual realm. That was a true word which the Mother of our Lord spoke to the servants at Cana, when she said: "Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it!'" She had probably learnt that lesson in those long, quiet, blessed years at Nazareth. She knew that there was no such way of understanding Him, as by rendering Him literal obedience, and she passed on the results of her experience to us all.
"Walk while ye have the light," so you will know the Light, and become light in the Lord.

Text: *Jeremiah 51:51*
_“Strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the Lord’s house.”_

In this account the faces of the Lord’s people were covered with shame, for it was a terrible thing that men should intrude into the Holy Place reserved for the priests alone. Everywhere about us we see like cause for sorrow. How many ungodly men are now educating with the view of entering into the ministry! What a crying sin is that solemn lie by which our whole population is nominally comprehended in a National Church! How fearful it is that ordinances should be pressed upon the unconverted, and that among the more enlightened churches of our land there should be such laxity of discipline. If the thousands who will read this portion shall all take this matter before the Lord Jesus this day, he will interfere and avert the evil which else will come upon his Church. To adulterate the Church is to pollute a well, to pour water upon fire, to sow a fertile field with stones. May we all have grace to maintain in our own proper way the purity of the Church, as being an assembly of believers, and not a nation, an unsaved community of unconverted men.

Our zeal must, however, begin at home. Let us examine ourselves as to our right to eat at the Lord’s table. Let us see to it that we have on our wedding garment, lest we ourselves be intruders in the Lord’s sanctuaries. Many are called, but few are chosen; the way is narrow, and the gate is strait. O for grace to come to Jesus aright, with the faith of God’s elect. He who smote Uzzah for touching the ark is very jealous of his two ordinances; as a true believer I may approach them freely, as an alien I must not touch them lest I die. Heart searching is the duty of all who are baptized or come to the Lord’s table. “Search me, O God, and know my way, try me and know my heart.”

12/08/2021

Beloved, the very Jesus who needed to borrow Peter's boat to stand on the sea and preach, was the same Jesus who bypassed Peter's boat to walk upon the sea.
The same God who instituted man and woman to come together to have a child, was the very God who planted a child in the womb of Mary without the contributions of a man. God can either follow or bypass protocols. I decree and declare by the AUTHORITY in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST, that God Almighty will bypass protocols this month to FAVOUR and HONOUR you, in every area of your life that seems hopeless in the name of Jesus. The windows of heaven will open and your blessings will be unrestricted in Jesus’ wonderful name. Amen.
Good morning.
Have a blessed day.

Text: *Psalm 12:1*
_“Help, Lord.”_

The prayer itself is remarkable, for it is short, but seasonable, sententious, and suggestive. David mourned the fewness of faithful men, and therefore lifted up his heart in supplication—when the creature failed, he flew to the Creator. He evidently felt his own weakness, or he would not have cried for help; but at the same time he intended honestly to exert himself for the cause of truth, for the word “help” is inapplicable where we ourselves do nothing. There is much of directness, clearness of perception, and distinctness of utterance in this petition of two words; much more, indeed, than in the long rambling outpourings of certain professors. The Psalmist runs straight-forward to his God, with a well-considered prayer; he knows what he is seeking, and where to seek it. Lord, teach us to pray in the same blessed manner.

The occasions for the use of this prayer are frequent. In providential afflictions how suitable it is for tried believers who find all helpers failing them. Students, in doctrinal difficulties, may often obtain aid by lifting up this cry of “Help, Lord,” to the Holy Spirit, the great Teacher. Spiritual warriors in inward conflicts may send to the throne for reinforcements, and this will be a model for their request. Workers in heavenly labour may thus obtain grace in time of need. Seeking sinners, in doubts and alarms, may offer up the same weighty supplication; in fact, in all these cases, times, and places, this will serve the turn of needy souls. “Help, Lord,” will suit us living and dying, suffering or labouring, rejoicing or sorrowing. In him our help is found, let us not be slack to cry to him.

The answer to the prayer is certain, if it be sincerely offered through Jesus. The Lord’s character assures us that he will not leave his people; his relationship as Father and Husband guarantee us his aid; his gift of Jesus is a pledge of every good thing; and his sure promise stands, “Fear not, I will help thee.”

MY EARNEST PRAYER FOR YOU THIS 31ST DAY EVENING OF JULY, 2021

As long as there is God in Heaven, you will never know shame in the precious name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Your life will always have a meaning and the door of goodness *(Psalms 23:6)* shall not be shut against you.
Every satanic power trying to re-design God's programme and agenda for your life shall be crushed by the Angelic hosts of the heavenlies in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach.

YOU shall surpass all limitations...

*THURSDAY 24TH, SEPTEMBER 2020*

*1 Kings 18:43*
_“Go again seven times.”_

Success is certain when the Lord has promised it. Although you may have pleaded month after month without evidence of answer, it is not possible that the Lord should be deaf when His people are earnest in a matter which concerns His glory. The prophet on the top of Carmel continued to wrestle with God, and never for a moment gave way to a fear that he should be non-suited in Jehovah’s courts. Six times the servant returned, but on each occasion no word was spoken but “Go again.” We must not dream of unbelief, but hold to our faith even to seventy times seven. Faith sends expectant hope to look from Carmel’s brow, and if nothing is beheld, she sends again and again. So far from being crushed by repeated disappointment, faith is animated to plead more fervently with her God. She is humbled, but not abashed: her groans are deeper, and her sighings more vehement, but she never relaxes her hold or stays her hand. It would be more agreeable to flesh and blood to have a speedy answer, but believing souls have learned to be submissive, and to find it good to wait for as well as upon the Lord. Delayed answers often set the heart searching itself, and so lead to contrition and spiritual reformation: deadly blows are thus struck at our corruption, and the chambers of imagery are cleansed. The great danger is lest men should faint, and miss the blessing. Reader, do not fall into that sin, but continue in prayer and watching. At last the little cloud was seen, the sure forerunner of torrents of rain, and even so with you, the token for good shall surely be given, and you shall rise as a prevailing prince to enjoy the mercy you have sought. Elijah was a man of like passions with us: his power with God did not lie in his own merits. If his believing prayer availed so much, why not yours? Plead the precious blood with unceasing importunity, and it shall be with you according to your desire.

*THANK GOD IS THURSDAY 25TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2020. LET'S GIVE GOD PRAISE.*
