What Is Love?

Opening Hook (Imaginary)

“Imagine a man says, ‘I love you,’ but he lies, insults, ignores, and hurts you daily. Is that love? If love is only words, then many people are loved—but wounded. So what really is love?”
Today we will discover the true meaning of love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Introduction

Love is one of the most spoken words in the world, yet one of the least understood. Many people call feelings, attraction, gifts, or benefits love. But true love is deeper than emotion. Love is a choice, a character, and an action.

What Is Love? (Bible perspective)
Biblical love is caring for others with patience, kindness, sacrifice, and truth. Love seeks the good of another person.

Love is not: (5)
- Selfishness
- Control
- Manipulation
- Lust only
- Loving only when convenient

Love is: (5)
- Patient
- Kind
- Humble
- Forgiving
- Steadfast

True love does 3 main things.

1. Love Is Action
Holy Bible 1 John 3:18
Love is not by words only but by deed and truth.

2. Love Requires Sacrificeu.
3. Mm
Holy Bible John 15:13
True love gives, serves, and sacrifices.

3. Love Builds Relationships
Where love exists, unity grows.

Principle Sentence
True love is not merely spoken; it is shown.

Reflection Question
Do my actions prove the love I claim to have?

Prayer
Lord, teach me to love genuinely in word and action.

FAITH AND PATIENCE

It’s not just faith that brings results.

It’s faith plus patience.

“Through faith and patience, they inherit the promises.” — Hebrews 6:12

Many people believe—but give up too soon.

“You have need of endurance…” — Hebrews 10:36

Patience is not wasting time.

It is trusting God’s timing.

“In due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” — Galatians 6:9

Your harvest is coming—don’t quit.

Principle:

Faith believes the promise; patience stays until it happens.

Reflection:

Am I standing firm or getting tired?

Like a farmer,

plant, water, and wait 🌱

Your season will come.

Trial in faith

🌪️ Going Through a Storm?

🌪️ James 1:2-3 tells us to "count it all joy" when we face trials. That sounds hard, right? But it’s because the test is producing something valuable: Steadfastness.

Your trial isn't a dead end; it's a training ground.
God is refining you like gold!

Reflect:
What is one thing you’ve learned during a difficult season? Share to encourage someone else!

🌱 FEEDING YOUR FAITH

Imagine two plants growing side by side…

One is watered every day, cared for, and given attention.
The other is ignored… no water, no care.

After some time, one is green and full of life 🌿
The other is dry… struggling to survive.

What made the difference?

Not the soil.
Not the environment.
But what they were fed.

Our faith is just like that.

The Bible says:
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

If you feed your faith daily with God’s Word, it grows strong.
If you neglect it, it becomes weak… even when life gives you opportunities.

So the real question is not, “Do I have faith?”
The real question is… “What am I feeding my faith with?”

From today, make a simple decision:
📖 Hear the Word daily
🗣️ Speak it
🧠 Meditate on it

Because whatever you feed… grows.

🌿 Feed your faith, starve your fear.

🛡️ Faith vs. Fear:
Which One Are You Feeding?🛡️

We’ve all been there—that tight feeling in your chest when you think about the "what ifs." Whether it’s about your career, your family, or your future, we are constantly caught in a tug-of-war between Faith and Fear.

Here’s the thing:
Both ask you to believe in something that hasn’t happened yet.

📉 The Nature of Fear

✓Fear is essentially False Evidence "Appearing Real." It’s a master storyteller that only writes tragedies.
It paralyzes: Fear keeps you stuck in the "safe" zone, even when that zone is miserable.

✓ It’s a thief: It steals your peace and your potential before you even get started.

✓It’s contagious:* When we speak from fear, we spread anxiety to those around us.

📈 The Power of Faith
✓Faith isn't the absence of fear; it’s the decision that something else is more important.
✓It moves: Faith takes the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.
✓It’s a builder: It focuses on possibilities and solutions rather than obstacles.
✓It’s a shield: It protects your mind from the "worst-case scenario" loop.

🛠️ *How to Shift the Balance Today

1. Starve the Fear: Stop scrolling through bad news or engaging in "doom-talk." If it doesn't nourish your soul, put it down.
2. Feed the Faith: Meditate on promises, read inspiring stories, and surround yourself with people who speak life, not lack.
3. Action is the Antidote: Fear grows in shadows. The moment you take one small, imperfect action toward your goal, fear loses its grip.

"Fear says, 'What if it fails?' Faith says, 'What if it works, and what if I grow regardless?'"

ACTING ON FAITH ✨

It’s one thing to say “I have faith”…
It’s another thing to act on it.
Because the truth is:

👉 Faith is not real until it moves.
Think about this…

🌱 Faith is like planting a seed.
You don’t see anything immediately, but you keep watering it because you believe something is happening underground.
That’s how faith works.

3 persons that acted on faith

1. Abraham moved without knowing where
2. Peter stepped out of the boat
3. A woman pushed through the crowd for her healing
They didn’t just believe—they acted.

💡 Miracles often begin with a step.
Now let me ask you:

❓ What step have you been delaying that God is expecting you to take?

Don’t wait for perfect conditions.

Don’t wait for full clarity.

Take that step today.
🔥 Your action may be the doorway to your testimony

SPEAKING FAITH

Many people say they have faith—but their words say something else.
They believe in their heart… but speak fear, doubt, and negativity.
📖 Romans 10:10 says: “With the heart one believes… and with the mouth confession is made.”
This means faith is not complete until it is spoken.

What is Speaking Faith?
Speaking faith is saying what God has said—even when your situation says the opposite.
📖 2 Corinthians 4:13 – “I believed, therefore I have spoken.”
You don’t speak because things are good.
You speak because you believe.
Why Your Words Matter
📖 Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
Your words can:
Build your life
Or destroy your progress
Every time you say: ❌ “Things are hard”
❌ “Nothing is working”
You are reinforcing negativity.
But when you say: ✅ “Things are working for me”
✅ “I will see results”
You align with faith.

Faith Speaks
📖 Mark 11:23 – “…he shall have whatever he says.”
Faith does not stay silent.
Faith speaks to situations.
Stop talking about the problem—start speaking to it.

How to Practice Speaking Faith
Speak daily

Don’t wait for feelings—be consistent
Reject negative words
When fear comes, answer it
📖 Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you”

Speak what you want to see
📖 Romans 4:17 – God calls things that are not as though they are

Final Charge
Don’t let your mouth destroy what your faith is trying to build.
Start today.
Speak life over your:
Business
Family
Future
💬 Confession: “I believe, therefore I speak. Things are working for me.”
🙏 If you believe this, say AMEN.

Source of Faith.

Scripture: Romans 10:17
Faith comes from God’s Word. Whoever you listen to becomes your master. Hearing God's Word builds your faith. To grow in faith, take time daily to listen to the Word of God.

There are different words circulating in the atmosphere. The word of man, which we always hear, affects our decisions greatly. Some of the words of man conform to God's Word, which is great. If they don't, it's bad and limits growth. Some words are carried in the mind, which is worse.
The truth is that we can't do without the word of man. To balance it, let it not violate God's Word. Let your spirit be at peace with the sound of the word of man.

Secondly, the word of the devil is destructive, killing, and generally bringing you down. It comes in subtle ways, from man, or from the spirit of the inner mind. Test to know its source.

Finally, the word of God is comforting, helpful, builds, and is full of blessings. In all, do listen to God's Word for direction.

Now that you know faith comes from hearing God's Word, feed your faith daily. Remain blessed.

PILLAR #4: FAITH – THE ANCHOR OF THE SOUL ⚓
April Theme Introduction

The Boat Analogy: When a storm hits the river, a boat without an anchor is at the mercy of the wind. You cannot see the anchor once it drops into the deep, but you know it is holding you. Faith is our spiritual anchor in the deep waters of life.

The Core Lesson:

• Trust the Invisible: Just because you can't see the bottom of the river doesn't mean the ground isn't there. Trust God even when the water is murky.

• Drop the Weight: An anchor only works if you let it go. Stop trying to hold the boat yourself; let God’s word hold you.

Scripture: Hebrews 11:1 – "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

---

DAILY COMPLIANCE CHECK 📝 To practice what we learned today, answer this: "What is one 'storm' in your life right now where you need to drop your anchor and trust God?"
